>let's settle this once and for all
which will it be, Sup Forums? pick the better movie
Let's settle this once and for all
one is a shallow, uninspired, soulless cashgrab, constructed for maximum profit and the other an original and legitimately well told and emotional scifi story.
TFA is a good movie by itself, just incredibly disappointing for Star Wars.
Avatar doesn't even manage to be good in the first place.
Avatar obviously, Cameron is prime time holywood.
It's a fucking cartoon
>Avatar doesn't even manage to be good in the first place.
Name three movies that makes better use of the Pocahontas narrative.
At least Avatar was an original story and had nice visuals
Avatar by far. TFA was over two hours of awkward moments barely held up by nostalgia bait and special effects that were surpassed by Avatar eight years before.
it's a cartoon.
it's a pocahontas clone.
and still a good movie with emotional impact.
I want to like Star Wars, but it's so fucking bad.
That being said, Avatar doesn't really scream amazing, but it is slightly better. I liked Rogue One more than TFA.
>Disneyfags can't deride Avatar about being derivative because TFA is worse in that regard
kek
That's unusually specific. There are maybe four or five movies in existence with that narrative.
Pocahontas (Disney), Dances with Wolves, and The Great Wall (2016)
>Pocahontas (Disney)
Only good thing about that movie was Colors of the Wind
Force Awakens
Good guys lose in both so who cares?
Avatar but of course that one redditor will make several posts choosing TFA because its Star® Wars™
are you kidding?
Avatar
its not even close, TFA is just regurgitated vomit for the starwars fanbois. Avatar has a genuinely amazing world and the spirit-transfer thing is actually quite fresh in a western medium.
Neither of them are great but Avatar still wins by a mile
This. TFA had absolutely no effects that came anywhere as close as this.
avatar did not kill han solo

>TFA: A shitty copy of an overrated precursor
>Avatar: A shitty copy of Dancing with the Wolves and Pocahontas
I feel like I'm in Sophie's Choice, but I want both kids to die.
I don't really like Avatar that much, but i'm going to go with Avatar.
Avatar, and that's something coming from a huge fan of SW, and I actually liked TFA
Avatar is simply the better movie
>Good guys lose in both so who cares?
What?
Avatar.
