Nothing, the Ghost is the point. That's why it's circled.
Carter Gray
That's actually a new experimental shield that projects a useless red circle around the ship. They bought it off Hondo.
Asher Gonzalez
Reminder that Abrams is a better Director that Lucas, and that TFA, is better than all of the PT movies, and that pretty much every critic agrees, and if you don't you're just a little contrarian shit.
Chase Butler
That's nice
Easton Rogers
Reminder that due to slow digestion processes the Sarlacc only needs to be feed every 10,000 years. Stop dropping your (you)s in the Sarlacc.
Jordan Hernandez
You're entitled to your opinion. I hope some retard doesn't start arguing with you derailing the thread though.
Well, a VX100 freighter is and it happens to be next to a hammerhead ship like the ones currently serving in Phoenix Squad.
All Pablo will say when asked is to wait 9 more days. More like 8 now, I guess? Depending on your time zone?
Nathan Gutierrez
I wonder, is it a cameo a la pic related, or will we see the ghost crew in live action?
Levi Perry
I doubt we'll see them, but unless, and this would blast some asses, they do Sabine with her helmet on helping blow shit up on the ground. I figure at most besides the visual we might get a name drop for Phoenix Squadron or maybe someone will mention the Ghost. However if Hera's VA does a cameo via comms that shit would be so damn cash.
Nathaniel Wilson
...
Evan Wilson
>Freddie Prinze Jr as Kanan in live action
Jaxon Butler
>However if Hera's VA does a cameo via comms that shit would be so damn cash. I think this is probably the most we can hope for. I wouldn't expect any of them to have a physical cameo.
Jack Lopez
here's a slower version. take your pick
Blake Cruz
That looks more like Bail's ship in ROTS than the Tantive IV.
Is Gareth going full PT?
Grayson Thompson
>666KB Whelp you dun fucked up and cursed them. Thanks, user.
Nolan Cooper
I'd hope not. Using either ship would be a huge red flag for Alderaan's involvement.
Angel Gomez
I don't even remember what that ship looked like, got an image?
Chase Turner
I don't see the phantom sitting on the back. I bet its not them and its just another case of a CGI artist using whatever random concept art they could find and made something they thought would fit.
James Stewart
>hammerhead >cr90 >blockade runner >corvette which is your favorite name for the ship version of a redshirt?
Daniel Rogers
I could see chopper rolling around in the background during a briefing scene flattening somebody's foot or somehow being the typical SW comic relief in the background by being the annoying little jerk he is.
Carson Garcia
DESIGNATED fodder ship.
Christian Cox
Possibly. Honestly, it wouldn't make sense for the Tantive IV to be involved in this fight, since Leia's still trying to pass it off as a diplomatic ship. It'd be harder for her to argue that if it was straight up seen in a battle against the Empire.
Not that Vader believes her in the first place, but you get what I'm saying.
Austin Martinez
The Phantom was destroyed earlier in the show though. If anything, this gives it even more credit that it is in fact Hera.
Not to mention the Hammerheads, from Pheonix Squadron.
Parker Sullivan
That's because the Phantom is busy rescuing Jyn.
>I wish
Owen Myers
>I don't see the phantom sitting on the back It could be deployed.
Kevin Hill
>mfw the phantom is escorting Jyn's team
Matthew Williams
I'm a betting man that we'll get some sabine'll do some seventh sister Sith passion shit while trying to gut Ezra with the Dark Saber.
Odds anyone?
Anthony Clark
Not that user but I do
This is the Sundered Heart/Tantive III
Christopher Martin
They got a new phantom, the old droid transport.
Easton Miller
Did they call that thing the Phantom too?
Jaxson Phillips
Bail's ship in ROTS has bigger Engines in relation to the body than the Tantive IV.
But I can't tell witch model the one in that webm is.
Oh, they gave it a name?
Owen Phillips
I am used to calling it the blockade runner, but now everybody is calling them hammerheads, and I guess that is pretty catchy
Kevin Clark
Oh I thought we were talking about the Ghost lookalike. And they gave it the name in the old EU, not sure if it still stands.
Jaxson Williams
yeah. in both Legends and Canon it's been called the Sundered Heart, but canon has also called it the Tantive III
Yeah. I guess technically it's the Phantom 2, but I think the Phantom callsign gets assigned to whatever little ship they're using to dock with the Ghost anyway.
Jackson Reyes
Ah fair enough
Evan Sanders
Those flying forest/arboretums are so cool.
Lucas Cook
Those are still blockade runners, this thing is what people mean when they say hammerhead
Jason Miller
No, hammerheads are the ships that look like the Endar Spire not Tantive IV
Anthony Carter
anyone else see cassian and jyn, and immediately think of kyle and jan from dark forces?
Jose Green
I think we're all trying to forget Kyle ever existed. It hurts less that way.
I wonder how many people will see that in the theater and shout, "TOR IS CANON, YO!"
Luis Myers
Given a bunch of people did that when they showed up in Rebels, I'm guessing we're going to have a whole new wave of it.
Leo Murphy
I like that theory too but mostly because it makes Death Troopers a more literal name and not just Super Edge Force Squad Alpha with the black armor and tacticool accessories.
They'll have all of that crap either way but it's still slightly better.
Dylan Edwards
Jesus, Bloodlines is boring. Just when I think it's starting to get interesting, we're right back in the Senate arguing about pointless shit. This books is making me root for the First Order
Kayden Rivera
I checked the beards, diego luna is basically kyle "latino spice" katarn
Jason Barnes
I WILL NEVER FORGET GODDAMMIT
Noah Jenkins
Easily the biggest loss of the new canon. Back when the new canon was introduced it seemed like it'd be somewhat easy to integrate Kyle back in, but now that we know that Luke fails to teach new Jedi and fucks off to become a mopey hermit, there's no hope at all.
Jaxson Edwards
Very interesting the Death Troopers could be reanimated or kept on life support. Didn't some of Krennic's bodyguards or mercs suddenly die off screen? That muscular looking guy in the BTS could be Matis.
Grayson Hernandez
I don't remember this scene from the PT at all!
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
Jonathan Bennett
Except that they are going to do it right and not have Cassian be force sensitive.
One of the biggest fucking problems of the old EU is that everyone and their mother is force sensitive because only force sensitives get to have fun unless your name rhymes with Man Cholo or Choba Bett.
Connor Turner
>but now that we know that Luke fails to teach new Jedi and fucks off to become a mopey hermit It still blows my mind this is canon...
Aaron Cook
I have an idea of how to bring him back, but it's still fuzzy because of how little we know of the post-Jedi era. Bringing back Kyle is hard, but doable.
Aaron Ramirez
beards dont lie
only asian guy is force sensitive, and he wont use a lightsaber
Alexander King
Is Battlefront worth purchasing yet?
Lucas Allen
Yeah, at least Matese did. Seemed really weird especially since it was after Krennic telling, shit, was it Mas Amedda he had someone to blame for the shit he was pulling on Legacy Worlds? The suggestion or implication seemed to be Krennic staged an accident for him but ... to what end? If they blame it on him who do they blame it too?
Adam Hall
I never read any of the old post ROTJ stuff, but given his relative inexperience and all it's not that surprising or unbelievable for Luke to completely fuck up training new Jedi.
Joshua Sanders
>what is the X-Wing series JJ get out
Nathan Russell
Really the single most disappointing bit. Hell, I'd have been happy if Luke disbanded the survivors or refused to teach anymore before going into hiding/his vision quest, at least there'd be some Force Users running around. It's pretty bullshit how they handled it.
Jordan Russell
>I never read any of the old post ROTJ stuff I shouldn't even be entertaining this....
>but given his relative inexperience and all it's not that surprising or unbelievable for Luke to completely fuck up training new Jedi.
The point of the saga is that Luke brought balance to the force.
Robert Smith
Nope.
Jaxson Sullivan
I would like to think that luke had help from surviving jedi, who decided to come out of hiding, although they would be freakin old by then
I guess there would also be survivors from the massacre, if one of them had a sick day or vacation, or showed up late to work, then he could have survived the knights of ren
Lucas Howard
>Balance At the time he kinda did. Then he fucked it up by recruiting new Jedi, which gave us Kylo and all that shit.
I mean that prophecy says fuck all about the person behind it because it's about as vague as it gets. You could say some random fuckwad that blows up the universe with his Death Star OC brings balance to the force because there would be no force users left after that.
But yeah, I wasnt bothered too much by it because I didnt know the old stuff I imagine.
Logan Ortiz
I am hoping that Luke somehow, in some way, rescued his students and found a way to mask them, hide them. Hell, maybe he's the one who, again SOMEHOW, dulled the Cosmic Force so it was practically asleep, very hard to hear. A way to protect his charges.
Arguably if he did dump Rey on Jakku or had someone do it, this is sort of what happened. Except for the extreme Cosmic Force bit.
Strange that Luke didn't seem to sense the Cosmic Force awakening and didn't seem aware of Rey's approach at the end.
Sebastian Watson
If it worked for the Nightsisters, then why not?
Mason Roberts
>But yeah, I wasnt bothered too much by it because I didnt know the old stuff I imagine. ??? The reason to be bothered is because it shits on ROTJ.
Nathaniel Bell
I'm just hoping that the place Luke fucked off to is revealed to just be a secret base for him and some survivors to stay hidden and train. The idea that 30 years have passed and absolutely no progress on anything has happened is just depressing. It's bad enough the Senate is right back to acting like the Old Senate and can barely manage to keep shit under control or amass a decent sized force to take on the First Order. But to have Luke of all people fail completely and just give up is too sad.
Anthony Taylor
Hey I like the X-Wing series. It is rightfully some of the best old-EU.
Isaiah Cox
I'd just quit Disney canon cold turkey if I were you. It's what I did. Gave me motivation to finally read the Thrawn Trilogy, and i'm eventually gonna get through NJO.
Brandon Gomez
No, I like it too. I was replying to the guy who said only force users could have fun in the EU.
Adrian Watson
luke is cinammon roll, who could see the good in some one as far gone as his father, tried his best to negotiate with jabba, stuck with the rebellion for a suicide mission against the death star when he could have just left
luke has been through so much, done all he could for other people, he deserves a happy ending
Camden Martin
>good books >good comics >good games Was the X-Wing/Rogue Squadron series the best mini-franchise in Star Wars?
Alexander Butler
Fuck, meant for
Jordan Jones
There was a...I don't think a rumor, as such? Something about they had several backup plans in case TFA somehow fucked up or wasn't well received Luke was supposed to have two students (females?) but after TFA was a hit they focused VIII on the new characters and Luke's students were given a smaller role. Or...something.
Anyone remember that? Guess it's time to hit the googles.
Joshua Cruz
FWIW the senate is dead now, so... I hope Leia tries to salvage order in the New Republic and get them to rally instead of playing toy soldier with the Resistance.
Jeremiah Morgan
There's not even anything to the new canon. It's just some lazy stories about the Rebellion years where nothing relevant happens. Then you've got Aftermath which is borderline unreadable.
The most interesting story of the new canon was Lost Stars because it introduced us to some new, rather interesting characters and had good tension because we didn't know what was going to happen to those characters even though we knew the major events. It's a shame they'll never be touched on again.
I highly doubt Disney would ever allow the new canon to have some long-running book/comic/game series that becomes a major part of the canon. Stuff like Jedi Knight, X-Wing, NJO, or Kotor will never happen again.
Xavier Ross
my hope is that they get their crap together, un mothball the alliance fleet, and give the first order the asskicking of a life time
David Wood
That was still me, user who said I liked X-Wing. I meant the comment about only force users having fun as a comment on the way some writers treated the old-EU. Hell, I was crazy pumped for the Daala to get rid of the Jedi and the Sith like she suggested in the Legacy of the Force books.
Blake Foster
Good hunting. I'm interested if you find a source.
Connor Miller
>tfw no new X-Wing game I guess that means they can't fuck it up.
Camden Jenkins
Ha, so far all I can find in desuarchive is someone talking about having heard about Luke having some younger characters we'd never seen before. That was back in March so at least it somewhat narrows down the time frame of when people were talking about this.
Alexander Gutierrez
Shit, all I can find is people TALKING about it, I can't find the damn source:
It's probably just the roles for that asian chick and Laura Dern, and even if that's true they could have been completely rewritten since Episode VIII got some major rework after they saw what worked and what didn't in TFA.
>Initially, Episode 8 was going to focus on a few new characters: two new female roles have been confirmed, and Lucasfilm are eyeing actresses for the roles. But now it seems as though their roles have been reduced, so the film can focus more on The Force Awakens' protagonists.
>Both The Hollywood Reporter and The Wrap have reported on the rewrites being aimed at boosting Rey and Finn's stories.
>"I said before there were two young female roles, now I actually heard that the rewrite will make these roles smaller. They want to get to know better the characters they already have. So the new rewrite is shrinking the new roles in order to spend more time with Rey, Poe and so on." - Jeff Snelder, The Wrap.
Probably Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
Connor James
>DLC characters get progressively worse in quality Bravo EA
Parker Moore
Can't find anything about luke having students, I think it's a misremember or wild speculation. Guess that's fair. If there's two new focuses after Luke shows up for the finale of TFA it would be tempting to link them to Luke.
