>STD

Saru is the worst part of this show.

>my people are prey, and eat plants
>there are no food chains though

>we were bred as cattle
>I have genius level intelligence somehow

>I've served on this ship 7 years
>let me tell you my maudlin backstory like you've never heard of my planet before

>I played Abe Sapien
>let me just completely rehash that performance with a palette swapped costume

>we were bred as cattle
>yet we're obnoxiously thin and gaunt
>we can still somehow sense death like animals who are hunted in the wild

I hate everything about him. Hellboy is shit, btw.

>Jason Isaacs was born in Liverpool to Jewish parents. His father was a jewelry-maker.[8] Isaacs spent his earliest childhood years in an "insular" and "closely knit" Jewish community of Liverpudlians, of which his Eastern European great-grandparents were founder-members in the leafy Liverpool suburb, Childwall.[9] The third of four sons,[3] Isaacs attended a Jewish school, known then as King David High school and a cheder twice a week as a young adult.[10][11] Isaacs has stated that Judaism played a big role in his childhood, he went to the youth club in the local synagogue and studied Hebrew twice a week.[12]

>As a child, being Jewish, Isaacs suffered antisemitism by members and supporters of the British National Front, during an interview he stated:
>There were constantly people beating us up or smashing windows. If you were ever, say, on a Jewish holiday, identifiably Jewish, there was lots of violence around. But particularly when I was 16, in 1979, the National Front were really taking hold, there were leaflets at school, and Sieg Heiling and people goose-stepping down the road and coming after us.[14]

/ourguy/

>le progressive show
>let's give the bad guys the most ridiculous blackface possible

thought religion didn't exist in star trek

Judaism still exists

>The Gang starts a Klingon War

>Judaism still exists

best visuals so far in Star Trek Universe.
Anyone who doesn't appreciat how maginificant binary star system looked like, doesn't understand where Star Trek came from. The amazement in face of beauty of the universe.

Friendly reminder

Episode 1 and 2 = prologue
Episode 3 = real premiere

Beam me up Clem Fandango!

Do you think there will be a drop in quality for the 3rd episode when it becomes subscription only?

What would Gene Roddenberry think if he saw DIS?

He would think there wasn't enough orgies

Too much exposition is always a problem.

It would give him STD.

Did anyone notice Jonathan from 30 Rock was in Sickbay?

when does the next episode air?
why don't they release the whole thing?

thought they were gonna release the rest of the series soon after on netflix

Amazed at the ability to capture beauty of the Universe and would applaud is progressivness.

Weekly
So they can milk the trekkies.

he doesn't care if the universe is beautiful, he would only care that the female crew were sexy as fuck

Michael is sexy

Apparently the next episode was pushed back for the international crowd on Netflix to Oct 9th

>Michael is sexy
If she had a 9 inch cock she would be perfect.
I am not even joking here.

first for true new Star Trek

sexy like a baboon

It was subscriber only for the 2nd ep

Wiki describes it best, and we all know that movie studios write all the character bio, and episode synopsis

>Pray on their homeworks
>Developed the ability to sense the coming of death. Aka space fear
>Federation thinks of the species as cowards, explaining why Saru is so nonconfrontation and wanted to leave the area immediately.

doubtful
source?

yeah, im still annoyed that i got a better idea of the series direction from a thirty second teaser than i did the hour and a half before it

Captain, this is Clem Fandango, can you hear me?

if that's true they pushed it from netflix to the pirate bay

Check Netflix

Omg Matt Berry would be amazing as a Paklid.

Yea he was the doctor. it was the voice that caught my ear.

>So Shazad, we're thinking Lieutenant Tyler could be the ideal Communications Officer, what do you think?
>Er, there might be a problem with that. Its a bit hard to explain...

this shit is rated G?

So what's the deal with booby-trapping a dead body?
Well after the enemy decided
>we're done, you may live
to boot?
This shit wouldn't fly nowdays in a civilized country military, and this is a fucking Federation

Why would you believe a guy that just violated a cease fire?

>DIS

Star Trek: takes risks to be progressive.

STD: rehash what works to pander to progressives.

Is it KINO?

Voice of the ship's computer surely.
youtube.com/watch?v=t8xliaDUPwg

What's the evolutionary reason for klingons to have 4 nostrils?

I probably wouldn't, but this is the federation we're talking about.
Desecrating and booby-trapping a dead body is quite iffy, yet they have no qualms about it even for a second

>WE WUZ KANGONS N SHEET

Remember that this was shortly after the captain decided to use the worker bee as a suicide bombing craft to allahu Akbar the klingon.

Enhanced immune system.
odotech.com/en/2-nostrils-special-guest-author-edition/

Eh, any attack would've destroyed corpses at that point, they were in an open war zone.

...

>Farscape that far down

The fuck kind of tier list is this

>stargate

STD is satanic tier

>BSG
>not god tier
just because of the ending doesn't mean it wasnt faggit

>Pray on their homeworks
What did he mean by this?

The most likable character in battlestar galactica is the battlestar galactica

>faggot

>switch battlestar and stargate
>move ds9 down by 2
>move clone wars down by 1
>move the expanse down by 2
here I fixed your list

Blakes 7 low mid-tier below inferior blatant rip-offs like Farscape and Firefly, you're having a giraffe mate.

DS9, Red Dwarf and Clone Wars all need moved two tiers down.
Pretty good otherwise.

No Space Precinct?

Futurama is garbage. Also put Rick and Morty in God tier

...

Rick Berman gave a weird rambling interview for TNG's 30th anniversary

>Let’s mix it up. What's the best advice Roddenberry gave you during your time with him?

>We spent a lot of time discussing his vision of the 23rd and 24th century, and he felt strongly that the script, stories and production elements all reflect that vision. He was not at all demanding. He’d be demanding to the writers if something was written that didn't work. I remember when we had one, Michael..., the young writer who we had for a few minutes, who passed away, before Piller. His name is... He was someone who was going to take over for Maurice Hurley after the second season. Michael… I can't think of his name. I think his last name started with a W.

>Wagner. Michael Wagner.

startrek.com/article/rick-berman-on-tngs-30th-anniversay

They spend like 5 minutes arguing about whether Wesley Snipes was considered to play Geordi.

>we were bred as cattle
>I have genius level intelligence somehow
They were bred like cattle to be intelligent, brainlet.

Too early to put STD any--
>Cowboy bebop at very high
So anime is being considered and they put that kiddie schlock way up there? What the fuck kind of retard made this? They've barely watched any series at all. There are hundreds of anime set in space and dozens better than Bebop.

BSG is an embarrassment to science fiction.

Planetes was fooking great

>stream has no subs
>tfw should've brushed up on my klingon beforehand

oh well, i just substitute honor and glory for everything i don't understand

in honestly can you name them ? I am actually interested

>DIS

I prefer /DSC/ desu. Go with /DSC/.

I've seen literally thousands of anime, and Bebop is still one of the most impressive I've ever come across. Kill yourself.

I liked it. But I wouldn't call it "underrated" yet. Wait a few more episodes.

I liked Saru. The cowardly alien that has to fight against his own nature speaks to me.

When does this take place time-wise? Before TNG? After?

After the pilot of TOS, but before the first episode.

it's new and it's hollywood so of course it's a prequel

The makers of STD neither like nor respect Star Trek

Ah, that sucks; why does everything have to be a sequel god damnit.

It'll just be more satisfying when he has to step up and save the day

Prequel I mean

>the world should cater to my preference

Off the top of my head you've got
>Banner of the Stars
>Gunbuster
>LoGH obviously(already up there)
>Macross
>Sidonia
>Planetes
>Cosmo Warrior Zero
>Galaxy Angel
>Yamato
>Blue Noah
>Portions of MSG
>Space Brothers
>Heroic Age
>Starship Operators
Avoiding most comedy and fan service-centered series which tend to be better too. Hell I even like Space Dandy more than Bebop and I don't even really like Space Dandy. Bebop is an edgy teenage male's wet dream, that's why it's as popular as it is. Standalone episodes really harm an anime's quality, but in the old days this made it more accessible to western audiences. Maybe it'll start to get pushed under the rug now that the west likes watching continuous plots on television now.

>I've seen literally thousands of anime, and Bebop is still one of the most impressive I've ever come across.
Oxymoron. Sup Forums is here and pitying you.

>literal giganigga

o i am laffin

Unironically not bait.

Hell even Outlaw Star.

Hello

just legitimately retarded then?

He was a complete hasshat by many accounts, but holy fuck does that guy have a legacy.

>here comes thier lie

>I've seen thousands of movies and Fight Club is still one the most impressive I've ever seen

Let's decide this once and for all:

STAR TREK DISCOVERY GENERAL STRAW POLL

strawpoll.me/14032363

>Blue Noah
>Uchuu Kyoudai
>Better than Bebop
Kek, not even close.

I was a teenager once.

what do guys think about the preview?
youtube.com/watch?v=CIypidgKOd0

I still don't like it. Has too much drama and dumb action for my taste. Hopefully that's just the trailer and not the Series

STD stuck.

It's STD and only marketers are trying desperately to change that.

Fight Club is shit.
Bebop is kino. The fusion of film-noir, western and sci-fi is perfect. The references to classic films like Pierrot le Fou and Aliens are perfectly played. The animation is better than most OVAs. The setting set a new bar for realism in sci-fi TV/Film.
Sorry that people on reddit or MAL have heard of it, that doesn't automatically make it bad, hipster faggots.

>edgy teenage male's wet dream
No, that's Macross?
