yeah i guess, im more interested in knowing how i felt about twin peaks

>50 minutes of friends
yeeeeeeeees

I wish I could get checks from YouTube to mock the works of other accomplished directors

At least post the link, faggot

youtube.com/watch?v=2RVf01en-YA

I'd be surprised if Rich likes it.

I ain't got time for this shit. Did they like it?

I want Jay's thoughts on Twin Peaks

bump 1

I've only marathoned the first minute and 19 seconds so far

very much these

They actually did it

Jay as the normie pleb that he is obviously loved the new season.

>their response is what most of Sup Forums was saying since the live reaction threads
>now anyone with this opinion will be spammed with RLM RLM I CLAPPED

Just binged this. I'm surprised at how optimistic they are. I do by and large agree with them.

Pretty fair.

I liked Discovery, but I want standalone episodes and the optimism. DS9 didn't get "dark" until Season 5 and even then it wasn't that dark.

>DS9 didn't get "dark" until Season 5 and even then it wasn't that dark.
Oh fuck off.

I don't even care about Star Trek, I just like pretending I have friends for short while.

Basically...
Mike: Really liked it. Says the characters are all complex and well written, and hopes it'll be good since it's too early to tell, but doesn't care much for the space battles.
Rich: Didn't care much for it, hates the main character, and in general doesn't like what they have done to Star Trek. Wants more quips. But is hopeful and thinks what is coming next is interesting.

I'm actually surprised that their opinions were largely positive considering this show is basically like the JJ Abrams movies, and they shat all over those.

Why do people listen to these guys? I have never watched a single review of their's and I've used this site for 10 years now.

It took 4 seasons for wars to kick off in DS9. We have one right off the bat in Discovery.

Wow, aren't you a special little snowflake.

They don't mind 09, they don't like Into Darkness, but they really liked Beyond.

@88310458
Thanks for the (You).

What's weird is them frothing for all the references to previous Trek and yet they attack Star Wars for the very same thing. A couple of fucking hypocrites is what they are.

You can suck my dick if you want.

well 11 years here and i watched every review atleast 6 times now

all his twitter posts about it are about how much he loved it

Sounds like you've been L Y N C H E D

>STD joke from the onset
im reaaddddyyyy kek

Is this the first time they've talked about Trek in general? Mike seems like a typical /trek/ poster who thinks everything outside of TOS/TNG/DS9 is shit.

Mike forces Trek references into almost every HitB

>Is this the first time they've talked about Trek in general?
They've discussed it a little on reviews of the movies.
> Mike seems like a typical /trek/ poster who thinks everything outside of TOS/TNG/DS9 is shit.
He references Voyager pretty often. Not much Enterprise.

>it's a mike desperately tries to appear not racist episode

youtube.com/watch?v=7w6f7pbnRcg

watch his plinkett trek reviews

Mike (as Plinkett) reviewed the star trek movies, Mike is a huge fan, he won the trek quiz at a convention in an early HitB

>Says the characters are all complex and well written
did he watch a different show than the rest of us watched?

>le Mike is racist meme
Find some new material, user.

I could be wrong, but I don't actually remember him saying that about the characters

At most I remember him saying he liked Saru and that he was "CP3O-esque"

Wow, you sound like a total loser.

I did hear Mike say the characters were well acted.

Which is mostly wrong.

They were paid to promote it. It was previously confirmed they were paid to review Stranger Things and say good things about it.

Where the fuck does Mike say "the characters are all complex and well written"?

Timestamp it. Because I didn't get that out of what he was saying at all.

Mike liked the pilot. Rich didn't like the pilot but thinks it has potential

What the fuck, now i have to change my opinion!

The both like it and don't like. Depending on what angle you look at it from, but they're mostly positive.
They don't like it as a movie/standalone thing because they HATE Michael Burnham.
They like it as a pilot for a show, but feel like it should have started on the prison shuttle with the pilot as backstory. They keep referring to the sizzle reel at the end, so that's where most of their hope from the show comes from.
They mention that it doesn't thematically feel like Star Trek because a lot of Trek focuses on a utopian future where people who get along try to sort out the problems that are thrown at them. They liked the science officer. They briefly mention Daft Punk girl.
Also they disagree with complaints about the appearance because of TOS Klingons and other things, but never once mention dutch angles or lens flare.

if they were paid to like it, Rich stole the money

Where can a little boy like myself watch the new Trek pilot?

>if you enjoy things, you're a shill

And yet here you are... in this thread...
What a terrific life you live

In fact they praises the visuals in general

Rich: After that pilot, we need a new pilot.

Mike: I like that our main character is a brainless nigger that starts an intergalactic war in the first hour of the television series.

it's funny because on Twitch Rich is WAY saltier about Discovery

Jesus, Rich may be a likable guy but he is such a dumbass. Remember when RLM was good and they just used him as a punchline?

He's not more knowledgeable and his opinions aren't more interesting or valuable then you're average shit poster.

The praise the budget of the visuals in the pilot. Which is true, because immediately following that the budget drops to Canadian sci-fi show while before it looked like a budget budget blockbuster.

But he's more right than Mike here.

So, no Orville or whatever review? Shame.

same :')

He said maybe they'll hit a home run and all the characters all well written and shit. He was referring to future episodes since the characters right now suck and it's not really Star Trek.

They mention it. They say it's a TNG clone and laugh about how it's getting bad reviews

wait what?

Rich cracked me up throughout this video and I thought his takes were better

They also mention that it obviously has an audience because people like that bright hopeful Star Trek.

>but never once mention dutch angles or lens flare.
Mike says that he doesn't want to live in STD because everything is tilted.

But while Sup Forums is opposed to Dutch angles on principle, they don't really care.

reddit.com/r/RedLetterMedia/comments/72x4he/rich_evans_on_star_trek_discovery/

Fuck you, hack frauds
m.youtube.com/watch?v=7qUNx5_UBbI

They laugh about the bad reviews but then also praise it for having the same hopeful spirit of TNG and note that unlike STD, it actually has a fanbase and an audience.

i 100% saw an episode of review with beard and jay on twin peaks yesterday i donate to the patreon so i guess its for patreon subscribers only for now

>note that unlike STD, it actually has a fanbase and an audience.

lol you're really that desperate to twist their words to shit on STD?

he talked about it on twitter

they did one on firewalk months ago before the new season

They praise it for being a decent movie if you take off the Star Trek name, and pretty soundly state that it's garbage as far as Star Trek goes.

No, I'm talking about the hour and a half episode on The Return

I'll be honest if you'll be honest: STD is much better than Sup Forums gives it credit for, but it doesn't have a fanbase where people are passionate about it the same way that people are passionate about Orville.

>"It's like JJ Abrams Star Trek. The JJ movies are more fun, though."

You didn't see that because it doesn't exist

>Its real

Was really hoping theyd do some shit like this.

This

Mike likes it despite it not being fun.

Rich is optimistic for future episodes despite not having fun with the first 2 episodes.

So does that mean we like DIscovery now, Sup Forums?

Seeing Mike likes it has allayed my fears for it somewhat, and now I'm looking forward to episode 3.

yes

I always have a giggle knowing that these losers have so much sway over this board.

>Rich is optimistic
He literally said it's not Star Trek and that it's horrible.

...

This man could tell you to watch cuckold porn and castrate yourselves if he told you to. The things this board does for their one sided online friendship.

He said that the main character is horrible, but the show is fine.

And the preview of future episodes has him optimistic.

>but never once mention dutch angles or lens flare.
They say it looks too much like JJ Trek and the very next edit is to shots from Discovery with nothing but lens flare and tilted angles.
This is a visual medium we're discussing, learn to understand editing greentext.

I disagree with everything they said. Starting with Evans making excuses for STD not looking like Star Trek, to Stoklasa blaming Michael for starting the war. I hate the look, not just because of the control panels, but because of everything. The uniforms, the "klingons" and especially the extremely dark bridge. I hate the main character, but killing klingons was the only thing she did right.

Whatever, nerd. Get back to me when you can present your opinions in a friendship-simulating YouTube channel.

Does Mike just like it because he shares the name of the main character?

>basically like the JJ Abrams movies, and they shat all over those.
except there's an entire plinkett review dedicated to seeing who can deepthroat jj abrams trek the hardest

it honestly doesnt surprise me they like it.

>two 120lb twig women hand to hand combat with massive alien warrior race
>chink captain hits Andre the Giant in the leg with a rod and it snaps like a twig

>It's a tv show.

>Orshilles this asspained that Mike didn't review their latest Seth dogfart project

who?

Why is a woman named Michael?

Why are men named Jamie?

Michael isnt' a unisex name, Jamie is

Because Spock's parents didn't know she was a girl.
