>Introducing the Ferengi too early
The Federation never learned their species name. It's fine.

>the entire temporal cold war arc
What broke canon?

>Akira-class design
They based the Akira on the NX. Problem solved.

>Romulans using the green aesthetic and cloaking tech a century early
They had the aesthetic in TOS

The cloak is fine. It was thought to be impossible to put it on a ship by the TNG era, not to have cloaking in general.

>more advanced consoles
Aesthetics. Don't be so autistic.

>TOS Klingons being augmented genesplicers
This fixed continuity to explain why TNG, which broke continuity, Klingons looked weird

>the Federation knowing about the Borg
Again, fixing a TNG plothole.

You got the wrong general friend. /trek/ is for old shit.

This makes me feel sad.

Apart from the cloak, which was stupid the other stuff was good and I expect it was Braga addressing shit fans had brought up for decades, since fan criticisms/questions about this stuff always seems to bug him

Cloaking devices were only ~theoretically~ possible, according to TOS. But nobody had ever seen them being used before. And certainly nobody had ever seen the Romulans using them before.

>SPOCK: I have a blip on the motion sensor. Could be the intruder.
>KIRK: Go to full magnification.
>SULU: Screen is on full mag, sir.
>KIRK: I don't see anything. I can't understand it.
>SPOCK: Invisibility is theoretically possible, Captain, with selective bending of light. But the power cost is enormous. They may have solved that problem.
Beware of false Trexperts.

Should Janeway have let 8472 destroy the collective? Voyager was able to negotiate with 8472 in the episode "In the Flesh", even though they were just one completely isolated ship, which shows that 8472, despite their aggressive nature, can be negotiated with. Would she have been better off developing a weapon without the Borg's help, and then trying to negotiate with 8472 when the time came?

>"Context is for Kings"

Vote in my poll please guys, thanks in advance!

STD is enjoyable if you pretend it's not Star Trek. Then again, I'm making my way through Voyager right now, so my standards are pretty low.

Best three opening episodes of any Star Trek series, honestly.

BEST SHIP COMING THROUGH, SUCK MY DICK TREKKIES

These links always make me paranoid, how do I know you aren't some CBS honeypotter?

There's no third option

it really is objectively the best trek ship of all time.

Not him but those links are all from 2ddl I think, which is pretty legit, I've never heard of mega revealing downloaders IPs neither

>lol look at me guys I like the B I'm so edgy

this would be funny if it wasn't the best ship design faggot

into darkness was kinda meh, only reason to watch it was the vengeance and the ship porn imo

yeah, at least mega is between the company and your IP, but I feel like at some point CBS and whoever will start going after DDLs and stream players like openload. I don't want to get caught up in that storm.

Thats not Ent-B, thats the USS-Excelsior you dumbfuck

...

Ent B was Excelsior-class dingdong.

>No suicide option

...

>but I feel like at some point CBS and whoever will start going after DDLs and stream players like openload. I don't want to get caught up in that storm.
Hmm maybe, till then though I still think DDL is a lot safer than torrents at least.
I would start using a VPN for them instead but then I'd have to fuck around to get Sup Forums working properly, actually does anyone know if Sup Forums pass lets you use VPNs?

...

B is a Refit, a really easily recognizable one, just stop dummy.

why is this ship such a fatty

Because it has powah

>even in an STD thread, Orville wins

It's over.

That really is both a masculine and sexy ship. Like I'd only go gay for that ship. It looks like it would mount the Orville like a Dothraki.

Guys, post your ideal trek series.

>show about a bunch of nobody Federation failures that all get assigned to a near-derelict Miranda-class doing supply runs
>stains on the carpets, jerry-rigged consoles, constantly passed over for retrofits and repairs due to front line ships taking precedence
>crew bullshit and banter constantly with each other, answer hails completely smashed, and generally be utterly incompetent but somehow they manage to get the job done just enough to not get washed out
>regularly singing drunken shanties as they deliver cargo like youtu.be/FH8lvwXx_Y8
>series ends with the ship valiantly defending innocent civilians, hopelessly outgunned, with something akin to the feeling of this playing as the ship is torn to ribbons and multiple front line ships warp in and wipe out the enemy, showing the crew bought the civilians just enough time: youtu.be/3WDRxtd-2dQ

>It looks like it would mount the Orville like a Dothraki.
Poor little white ship

An EXCELSIOR-CLASS refit

you

DINGDONG

They'd be shutdown in a week.

No really time to stop. Last (you) dumdum.

Discovery is so bad. i can't even be bothered to watch it anymore. I'm rewatching season 1 of DS9 this is true sci fi kino.

>memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(NCC-1701-B)
>Class: Excelsior-class (refit)

How are you too stupid to understand that when they change the old ship completely to a new design, its class becomes the new design's class?

I'm re-watching Voy s1, its bad but i'm enjoying it more then std, the doctor has more charisma in his little finger then the entire std cast.

Enterprise-D if it hung out on /k/...

Ok dumdum, you replied to my img of the Excelsior with some bizarre rant about the Ent-B, you know so little about star trek, you didn't realize what that ship was, even the fucking file name, so this is the last (you) basically your have no place posting here, stop.

Not him but the Ent-B and Excelsior are extremely similar in appearance. Not everyone is autistic enough to tell the difference so easily.

its pretty easy

I know, but I have that autistic attention to detail because I study this bullshit closely. A lot of people don't.

but don't you like modern media? It's like really dark and you know the story is dark because the lighting is dark, if the tone is dark the lighting has to be dark too you know that's called the visual art of cinematography but then goofy quips haha that one character is so quirky right please laugh

I wasn't the guy replying to you originally though. This was my first reply to you.

Still should've known from the img itself, its clearly TOS movie style and thats a big scene.

This show is turning into The Walking Dead in Space

t. I like to insert myself in discussions with irrelevant information known by everyone
your like this irl too eh?

>Used to love Trek threads
>Now people discuss Orville and STD in them which are both shit I dont want to watch

anyone else know this feel, I miss the old /trek/

>"zomg, std's chief engineer is a guy man! Fucking sjws"
> chief engineer's butt buddy is ripped to pieces 3rd episode in
> Doom hellbeast killing all the crew and klingons
> the captain may or may not be Jellico-lite

You guys aren't willing to give this shitty show a chance?
It's not comfy trek but it isn't that bad as i thought it would be.
> inb4 cbs shill

Its the weekend, weekend has and always will be full of literal children

Could you elaborate?

I feel you, user. I miss my comfy /trek/

If it was known to everyone, why didn't you just say "everyone knows that, but my image is the NX Excelsior, not the Excelsior-class refit of the Enterprise-B", faggot?

People died in the latest episode, therefore it's The Walking Dead.

we'll ride it out, neither of these shows are on all year, also weekend underage trashposters

Because it was known to everyone, why would I need to elaborate? especially since we were talking about this exact thing in the last thread.

And from the filename, a quote from III.

That's brainlet reasoning

First for Cadet Tilly

Too late.

I agree with you about Orville but STD is /trek/ and it's also good.

That sucks. I'm kind of liking STD so far.

The number of good episodes in STD so far is one.

Daily Reminder that Ka'shuShh died for our sins.

Orville is good as a TNG style show while Discovery feels like later season DS9 along with other sci-fi. It's definitely darker but Trek has always had dark episodes.

Whatever this is, it's an abomination to the senses.

You don't need to pretend to not know what that is to criticize it.

I'm not who you were discussing it with, I really don't know (image searches it..) I've all but forgotten the Abrams films and I still haven't seen Beyond.

The number of good episodes in STD so far is 1.5
Ftfy

> a cadet who's allergic to beds and snores and drools in her sleep.
> a cadet with access to the top secret hyper drive garden

>"I have to become a captain someday, Michael. Wearing science silver is worse than being dead!"
I think Tilly has the heart of a Picard.

My main gripe with this episode, besides putting such a boring character like Dax next to such un-boring characters in the Klingons, is that she sounds like a mid-wife/house maid amongst barbarians and her portrayal is similar to that. It just didn't fit together, those two types of characters, on the same screen.

...

>TNG changed Klingons
i wish people would stop saying this

You're an abomination to the senses

You can't even take a guess? We're in a Star Trek thread, so what could those pictures be from?

>the Federation knowing about the Borg
Again, fixing a TNG plothole.

explain what you mean here

Show the ones from TMP. I think that's when they first started getting ridges.

Your face is an abomination to the senses

That’s not the E

I'm guessing he means potential borg left on earth from first contact, but I never liked that bit of ent pure fan pandering and it didn't really make sense.

It really is shit. It's like bayformers. Why the fuck have so many people in modern visual media forgotten basic rules of aesthetics? Things don't have to look ludicrously disgustingly busy to be futuristic

You a little slow? Didn't read my whole post?
>I really don't know (image searches it..) I've all but forgotten the Abrams films and I still haven't seen Beyond.
If you bothered to read my post you should know I checked Google and saw it was JJ shit and I expected as such.

Wrong. NCC-1701 refit is all around the best.

They were changing even before that. They're like a mutating species.

No, its much better then the sovereign, tho I never really minded Ent-E, just never really liked it either

Played by Sarek's actor
Captcha: Select all bridges

>Your mom is an abomination to the senses

A is a very pretty ship

Image searching showed you Abrams so you just assume that's what it is? Are you retarded? What else could it be? Think about it. There are other options.

>Things don't have to look ludicrously disgustingly busy to be futuristic
THIS
This this this this this. They know they are marketing and designing the look for the big screen and the general audience, but it's still overkill. I'm being blinded with a glut of unnecessary lights, sheens and bulkheads.

...

>Your moms face is

I'm not seeing it. It looks clean and industrial.

>so you just assume
But see I really don't care, yet I did see it was the USS Vengeance or what it might have looked like from Into Darkness. That didn't surprise me. But in the end, it's ugly and terribly designed and just isn't worth a bother.

Sputtering to a stop like a Vega

It can be overwhelming to weak minds, I agree.

Agreed, but OG refit is the best ship all things considered. It's not the most advanced but it's still the TOS Enterprise with improvements.
