Almost true. His (and likewise the US government’s) fear of the Giant was 100% justified. It won’t communicate, it is almost indestructible, has a shitload of firepower and they have zero knowledge of where it came from. Could have been a Soviet weapon for all they knew, and it was standing on American soil. The ONLY incorrect thing he did was get the nuke launched pre-emptively. He should have had the Navy draw it out to sea before trying to attack it.
