Why do American politicians have to embrace religion publicly instead of being indifferent to it?

Why do American politicians have to embrace religion publicly instead of being indifferent to it?

Many people won't vote for you if you do not appear and act Christian in this country. No clue why, but as long as they aren't jewish or Muslim that's all I care about on the religion front.

Why not Jewish? Is there really much difference between American Jews and Christians culturally?

I don't really give a shit, but thanks for that picture of Lovecraft. He swallowed the true redpill before it even existed.

america is like an islamist country but with christianity, now less than before but still quite retarded

When, long ago, the gods created Earth
In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
Yet were they too remote from humankind.
To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
Filled it with vice, and called the thing a Nigger.

-H.P. Lovecraft, 1912

It depends. Neither group is monolithic.

His wife was jewish.

>He swallowed the true redpill before it even existed.
>implying H.P. "White-knighting for hoes until I die alone" Lovecraft was redpilled

Because it is pandering to one of the largest single issue voting blocs in the country; Evangelicals. I'm just glad to see Trump wreck this group.

...

Europe is like an Islamist country except also with Islam

...

Posting in my boy Lovecraft thread. He's my role model, I hope to become as ill and poor as he was.

>Islamic country
>unlike the US, burqas ans street prayers are forbidden

Even if you could, you would never be one of the most influential writers of all time.

Real answer: because when you're electing a man to the single most powerful chair in the world, it's good to know that he answers to something above himself rather than viewing himself as omnipotent.

Daily reminder that The Unnamable is the worst short story that Lovecraft ever wrote. It's classic shit bantz.

How does Evangelical community stand out among other protestants, politically speaking.

Many protestants will make economic and immigration policies their most important determiners, while most Evangelicals want the most socially (read "religiously") conservative platform available.

Evangelicals view themselves as a political voting bloc and use their influence as such. I don't think they're really any more politically cohesive than any other protestant group, but between their aggressive fundraising and their deliberately political rhetoric, they get a lot more done. Before Jerry Falwell they were politically ambivalent, but he changed all that.

The real tragedy is that Jerry Falwell became more influential than Billy Graham. Falwell was a faggot.

It's amusing how politicians have to be Christian, yet Americans worship their politicians like gods.

The US has no major history of openly secular politicians who aren't Commies, Socialistic, Anarchists, or general scum.

Given our lack of a coherent ethnic Nationalism, secularism is seen as a leftist/liberal/progressive trait.

>secularism is seen as a leftist/liberal/progressive trait
Secularism IS a liberal/progressive trait.

Secular is separation of Church and state, nothing else and USA is secular.

And the irony is that many are secret Pagans

There hasn't been many true Christians

>USA is secular

Ironically again, secularism is right leaning due to individual freedom being right

Yes, it's liberalism (which is technically right until you get to social liberalism, like the Democrats in the US)

>goyim beware

>And the irony is that many are secret Pagans
>2016

I believe USA does not have official state religion unlike its parent Britain.

It does have a state religion, it's just not official.

For most of American history socialism, utopianism, leftist, and liberalism were deeply rooted in religion.

These things being done by atheists is a new phenomenon.

We're avoiding most of the biggest issues caused by a lack of seperation, so I'd say we're good.

Socialism was always atheist fom the start.

Nice trips. US has what I would call state religions for each state. We are a hodge podge of Baptist, Catholic, Calvinist, Protestant, Mormon etc. Depending on what area you are in one will be more predominant. Thankfully we dont have too many Islamists higher up in power structure yet. (nb4 obligatory Obama joke)

Christianity is the basis for white nations.
