LEGION

What are your expectations, Sup Forums?

>David Haller (Dan Stevens) was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, and has been a patient in various psychiatric hospitals ever since. After an encounter with a fellow psychiatric patient, however, Haller is confronted with the possibility that there may be more to him than mental illness: He could be the most powerful mutant ever born.

I hope it has the artistry of the comic

The cast.

DAVID HALLER (Dan Stevens)

>The mutant son of Charles Xavier, David was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age and meets the girl of his dreams in a psychiatric hospital, sending him on a mind-warping journey of self-discovery.

SYD BARRETT (Rachel Keller)

>A self-sufficient and street smart young woman who still believes in happily ever after, and becomes Haller's "girlfriend" although she can't let anyone physically touch her.

LENNY BUSKER (Aubrey Plaza)

>Haller's childhood friend who remains an impossible optimist despite a history of drug and alcohol abuse and a rough demeanor.

she's cute
I'm gonna claim her

AMY HALLER (Katie Aselton)

>David's older sister, who tries to remain positive despite her brother's condition and fears that her family's history of mental illness might soon affect her as well.

MELANIE BIRD (Jean Smart)

>A demanding psychiatric therapist who uses unconventional methods in an effort to undestand David's unique condition.

Could you imagine if they used this set-up for a Badger series instead

CARY LOUDEMIRK (Bill Irwin)

>A geeky scientist and part of Bird's team of specialists studying David.

KERRY LOUDEMIRK (Amber Midthunder)

>Cary's daughter, Kerry is a savant with a childlike sense of wonder and part of Bird's team of specialists studying David.

No New Mutant characters?

Why didn't they give him the crazy hair?

PTONOMY WALLACE (Jeremie Harris)

>A sardonic and standoffish former child prodigy and part of Bird's team of specialists studying David.

I'm cautious about it
I hope it's its own thing and not tied to any ((((universes))))

wait, what, this can't really be happening

No comic book characters period, aside from David himself and MAYBE an appearance by Xavier.

It's also not canon with any of the movies whatsoever.

I hope the twist is that the entire psychiatric hospital is actually inside David's mind and all of the characters are David's split personalities

I saw first half of the pilot at NYCC and while I think the show is fine, it more than likely will flop with viewers

Give us a rundown, how's the plot?

>that huge hair-shaped smoke
I like whoever made this poster.

Kind of fucking pointless then.

They're really just using David as a jumping off point to do their own thing. Might not be a bad thing, but I won't expect them to do anything that has to do with the comics at all.

How was this series?

If none of these are from the comics for me this thread goes on .

And I don't care if you say it's """""""inspired""""""""" by the comics. This shit have to end.

>it more than likely will flop with viewers
It might have a shot.

X-Men Legacy had really weird and sort-of bad art, but the writing (and the cover art) was amazing throughout and had a really great conclusion.
You should definetely check it out.
Make sure to also read X-Men Legacy 600 afterwards.

I was thinking the same thing as soon as I saw he had a sister. Maybe the entire show is just an attempt by David to fix himself?

how many of these people will just be in his head? my guess is all of them

The main character is from the comics. It's a little more than """""""""""""""InSpIrEd""""""""""""""""

>X-Men Legacy 600
*300

Definitely and Most likely

Right? Im a bit confused by the total lack of that part so far. It almost has to be the reveal..

A recent trailer showed what seemed to be David flashing between different psychiatrists offices with different decor, but where he sits is a different person.

I think that they're doing a take on his origin

The only question is who's going to go on a killing spree when they find out they're not real?

Yes, totally sure that Cary Loudemirk, a geeky scientist and part of Bird's team of specialists studying David, or Syd Barret a self-sufficient and street smart young woman who still believes in happily ever after, and becomes Haller's "girlfriend" although she can't let anyone physically touch her.will have roles very similar to the X-Men.

So tell me: what's the problem with your board?

This cast is too white. I liked how all the people in David's head were diverse af iirc. partly bc in the comics it makes an easier short hand for who's who

Such a random character for them to make a tv series about.

I think if you actually read a comic you'd understand that there's a good chance that a majority of these characters are in his head and are instead manifestations of his split personality.

Is David still Jewish?

No more so than Green Arrow

>The only question is who's going to go on a killing spree when they find out they're not real?
I think I've seen this movie before.

Pilot starts off with a montage showing David Haller's life up until the point of him being in the hospital. You get a bunch of stuff between him Syd, and Aubrey Plaza. The whole time it basically cuts between this stuff being his recount in the hospital and government dude questioning him. The Syd character supposedly dies and they want to know if he killed her or what happened. It ended with the reveal that the government dude is holding the meeting inside some abandoned building and he goes upstairs to talk with another official about Legion being the most powerful mutant they've encountered and how they should kill him.

This isn't going to tie in with the New Mutants movie next year is it?

I hope it's as good as trailer suggests and it's quite self contained. Be about this guy and that's it.

>not hiring Si Spurrier to adapt his Legacy run

Wasted opportunity, honestly

Quite literally the best thing that came out of the relaunches
