What media player does Sup Forums use to watch kino?

What media player does Sup Forums use to watch kino?

I used to use pic related until it gave me trouble with 1080p mkv files

>God tier

mpv

>Retard tier

VLC

>Reddit retard tier

MPCHC

I use whatever.

playstation blu-ray, connected to hugeass TV

MPC-HC/MPC-BE

>kino

Just think: no matter how much you bitch about that word, no matter how many times you post that image of the reddit mascot, kino's not going away. You might as well declare war on baneposting.

On OSX I'm stuck using VLC because MplayerX is abandonware now it seems.

VLC decoder works great, but it's slow to start playing movies, and the interface isn't great.

The irony in this post is only contrarian hipsters use mpv. MPCHC is the must fully-featured and has the best third party tools.

what a reddit retard tier post

redditors are so sensitive, it's always disgusting when you crawl out the woodwork

applefag detected

What's "reddit"?

How do you know so much about redditors?

Pot Player suits my needs

...

I just open the movie on VLC to download subtitles and then open it on MPV.
VLC has been a glitch fest for a while now for me.

Cringe

And it's also deprecated and doesn't have support anymore

This. Mpv is the only good player, VLC is what tech illiterates and their grandma's use when they search "Best media player [current year]".

it just works.

Because you post here, and stand out like a sore thumb.

VLC has too much GUI, MPV too little.

i just plug my external into my 60in tv and watch it that way

I would use VLC, but I don't want the CIA to know what kino I'm watching.

Temporarily it does

But how do you know what a "redditor" is like? I don't understand how you would have the context to judge without being from there yourself. It doesn't add up.

Yeah, I bet he's fun at parties. /s

Why fix what isn't broken? MPV is a downgrade as far as features go and doesn't have advanced GPU rendering support like MPC does with third party tools.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only long-term user who'se actually never been on Reddit / doesn't know how it works except that it's basically Digg.

Codecs and shit will evolve and MPCHC won't be compatible

I don't even know how to read reddit. Every time I end up on a page from google searches of something it's always a maze of hidden posts and links to other posts in a pile

just made the switch from this piece of shit
vlc is garbage, i was having similar problems

You don't need a GUI when every key on your keyboard is bound to a function. f: fullscreen, q: quit, , 9-0: volume, space: pause, etc. Using keybinds is faster than mouse, too.

But that is not the reality we currently live in. At the moment, MPCHC is the best featured video player with the highest-tier of video rendering possible.

mpc for movies
mpv for illegal hockey kino

what do you use now, user? I was thinking of mpv since it's so popular

>At the moment, MPCHC is the best featured video player with the highest-tier of video rendering possible
this is what brainlets believe

vlc works great with everything but wmv for me, some of them are choppy/slow. must be a shitty codec pack i have used since kazaa lite days

mpc is the fallback that works on everything, i just like vlc better

Yet you have no argument, like all mpv fags. This is how you know it's simply the nu-contrarian application.

It's true, though. Compared to what?

>le no argooment xD

never had any issues with vlc

I have used vac since like 2009, I've never had a problem with it.

>click video file
>it plays

Wowzers

Potplayer

These. You have to be legitimately retarded to not be able to play a video on fucking VLC.

>the best video player is the one that "just works"

yes yes i'm sure it's great for your cape movies

I use mpv because I can get just as good picture quality as mpc-hc+madvr while using less resources. It's also nice that everything is built into mpv and you dont need 3rd party software. It's very customizable and works well with youtube-dl and livestreamer. It has active devs. Vulkan was just implemented which improved performance even more for me.
There's a lot of reasons why I prefer it over mpc-hc

>literally can't operate a simple video player without fucking it up
>y-you must watch capeshit h-ha ha ;_;

I'm sure someone has that pic where a bunch of butthurt weebs are angry at vlc because the color is off a little bit. Just so you know why this site hates it so much.

>using a player at all
>not opening the file in an hexadecimal editor and decoding the frames one by one
plebs

what is this weird strawman you've created?

who has ever said they had problems using a video player?

I use Kodi

It downloads boxcovers and gives an option to watch the trailer of every movie or tv show you have

Do you use the stock media player?

Read the thread before posting you stupid faggot.

I tried mpv and mpchc with madvr, VLC with added grain is still the best out of the 3. fite me fgts

I wont fight you, but I'll disagree. I actually have compared the players with proper configuration and a good display.

for some reason anytime I open a file over 5gb with mpchc, it doesn't let me scrub, it just goes back to the beginning when I try to skip ahead. vlc opens things and runs fine for me, but it has weird vertical syncing issues

MPC-HC is literally the only answer

anyone who uses anything else is wrong

Not everything is reddit, sweetie.

VLC sometimes the image goes fucking crazy like after I pause and resume, so I switched to MPC HC and it runs flawless out the box.

MPHC or bakaplayer for my chinese cartoons

DEPRECATED
Smplayer lets you do everything mpchc ever did.
Potplayer has all the same filters or whatnot turboautists like you sperg about.
>baka
That's been dead for years.

I just use mpv via smplayer and it's fine, though VLC actually crashed less.

>using a player
>not printing out each frame and perusing them over some Early Grey
i share a board with these plebs

crashed less because smplayer is a shitty frontend

i don't really care. I like the way it looks and it crashes like a couple times a month maybe and remembers where I left off so it's seconds of inconvenience.

i use baka mplayer

>Early Grey

...fuck

mpc-hc with madvr

if i were the king of fags, i'd use mpv.

IINA is the best player i've ever used

>calling us plebs when you need auto correct to spell words for you

t. redditor

Imagine being so autistic that you categorize a media player by its ‘redditness’

MPHC alters the video, VLC does not

i have tested movies with both apps on default settings and there is something about all media players except for VLC, they have some kind of inherent setting to blow out saturation and exposure and no matter how you adjust it it's fucked

hhooooo fuck you for posting that pic

*pic unrelated

mpv forever.

What kind of problems exactly? I only do 720p and mine gets laggy every 20 minutes or so. But I thought it was do to my shitty graphics card or something.

I haven't used vlc in years but I remember big problems with lag, suffering, a/v desycnchnization, and colors slit off into multiple overlayed red, blue ,green images when playing 1080p, not to mention bad subtitle handling.
Basically all these problems were fixed by switching to potplayer

ok i just checked mpv and its same as vlc picturewise
just dont use mphc

Vlc

Winamp.

It really whips the llama's ass.

mpv

without any config

>ALL players are innacurate
>Minus VLC
>Somehow it's not actually VLC that desaturates colors

best answer.

Potplayer is the best mix of nice UI + runs everything + never stutters + all the features I ever need.

Huh? Autism is arguing over something that doesn't matter. This player works as well as any other. Talk about something better.

Just used VLC to watch Dark Rain... good times motherfucker-san

Its dead user

Windows Media player classic with CCCP, for the past 15 years or so; lately though I've gotten really into Plex for my media, which occasionally gives me a headache with playback and never stops fucking updating

Any decent Plex alternatives? I really like the idea of browsing all my pirated media with a pretty GUI and metadata

Kodi?
For webms and images hydrus is ok
cccp and klite are shit, though. You don't need them, mpc-hc already has all the codecs. And now hat mpc is unmaintained, you should really just switch to potplayer or mpv

How do I get webm's to play in Safari?

You don't.

none, I just google search "[movie title] watch free" and click on the first result

mpc-hc for movies
vlc for porn

Whatever my phone uses. I don't even know.

MPC-HC with MAD

Is this software from 2006?

Used vlc for years then it failed to play a few files and had audio problems which made look for an alternative. Switched to pot player and it's been perfect. Plays everything and nice customisation options available.
