Any good?

Any good?

Legit 10/10 movie.

Truly, unironically, kinographïe, yes.

Yes.

It's fucking long and very well made probably one of the most faithful sequels to a older movie I've seen.

It's a bit like alien vs aliens in that it's not as smart but is just as enjoyable

It's ok. Still has that original feel to it but the introduction was so fucking long.

Huh? It jumped right into Action.

Visuals, visuals, visuals and that's it. It's absolutely redundant and it has the worst scenes of exposition that I've seen this year. There is a character in this movie that is literally Expositron 3000 and is there to tell obvious things to the audience whenever it's "needed".

It's amazing how they made this movie but refused to make it intelligent.

When i heard about it I thought it would be one of those tasteless Jewllywood sequels we've had for quite some times now. I loved Blade Runner and I went to the kino without much expectation and for the first time since a long time I went out with a feeling of satisfaction. It was really great and I'm happy Villeneuve didn't try to make a poor copy of the first one, instead creating a true sequel with its own personality.
On another note I feel like that capeshit aside moviemakers are starting to get their shit together, 2017 is a good year

10/10, but the mainstream is going to hate it: it is a 3 hour, methodical, and brooding slow-burn like the original.

its a 10/10 movie

but normies will hate it as it is a long brooding tale of being a human and you are not fucking special.

Neck yourself fucking retard. The ultimate state of 2017 Sup Forums. It has nothing to do with the original, its not as smart as the original, it has no good score - the only good score is Vangelis from the original, visuals are a sterile version of the original, plot is unnecessary complicated for the sake of twist, the message of the movie is the same as the original, yet poorly executed, can't be compared to the original one even for a bit. This shit is made exactly for mainstream audiences.

2/5
Glossy.
Also contrived, bleak and without charm, almost devoid of ideas and not confident in the few it does play around with, leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination. My biggest gripe, however, is that it leaves the existentialism of the first in favor of an essentialist outlook which is completely uninteresting and oddly dated in a time when A.I. is a very hot topic. The political dimension of the story is force-fed to us and then left in the dust.

Lifeless. That’s the word I’m looking for.

It's good. And is a legit actual sequel. Not a reboot or stealth remake. Carries on the themes of the original and takes them further. Addresses the "big question" without blowing it. It does feel like the original writer continuing with his vision. A rare feeling to be honest.

Doesn't have a "Teardrops in Rain" level ending. And some people will recognize the last bit on the steps from another geek cult classic, so a little of the wind is taken out of it's sails there.

Visuals and sound are worth the cinema bucks. I got a quiet crowd, thankfully. It was a spill-over showing. All the main shows were full.

Ford: I wouldn't say he was at 100% engagement like some have suggested. I think he's past that for good now, but there were genuine "Deckard" moments, where you see the character and the weight of the years on him and Ford disappears. Particularly when Goose is asking him "What was her name?".

Extra Note: The horse is a unicorn. You can see where the horn was broken off at one point. Interesting that nobody ever draws attention to it. It's there for the audience to spot.

Saw it last night in IMAX, didn't like it nearly as much as the first. Although a let down, it's not a terrible movie but certainly a 'meh' sequel.
Worth pirating but wouldn't pay $13 again to see.

Ah, the dumb cunt from the other thread.
Haven't you noticed how the first movie was dirty and vertical, while this one is very clean and horizontal (huge empty landscapes instead of huge imposing towers)? If you were not a superficial retard, maybe you would understand there was a point for the sterility. But since you believe the message is the same as the first one then there is truly nothing to be done with you, you're too slow

Yes user, I'm sure an almost 3 hour long slow burning visually focused R rated sci fi film that deals with the human condition is "made exactly for mainstream audiences"

So The Matrix? Yeah

I haven't seen Drive in a long time, but didn't Goose's character there end up in pretty much the same way as K in 2049? Lying back serenely, staring off into the distance, severe wound in his body?

Well you're going to watch it/watched it right? You're without a doubt part of the mainstream audience if you're here defending it

IMDB and Reddit like it, if you're a fan of vapid flicks you'll love it.

The Matrix is the polar opposite of a slow burning film, it's basically non stop physics bending action after the first act.

it's pretty gouda, I enjoyed it and it made me question and think about the plot as the movie went on.

What? I'm part of the mainstream audience if I watched it or will watch it?
What kind of a retarded brainless argument forming is that?

A movie not made for the mainstream audience would not have a character like the holographic expositron robot and Jared Leto explaining everything about himself and his plan to the audience right when he first shows up. Should I mention the archive guy explaining what the blackout was for someone who already knew it?

It's not just good. It's great.

Well yeah. You're an entry level pleb and it's very easy to tell. Do you think because you've watch maybe several more films this year than your average movie-goer you're above them?

yes

disliked the 1st movie, but i loved this one. my favorite movie of the year.

Nope.

Obligatory /it looks nice/ remark, but nowadays many films look too nice, there exists nothing in the frame which is imperfect, causes dissonance or breaks the harmony, because even when such elements are present they are there -and we perceive this- as a result of calculation, of a too clear intention. Filmmakers should dare include something in the image which they do not fully know the meaning or significance of

Or take the soundtrack, which suffers from the same problem. It references Vangelis’ themes for the first film without taking any of the risks his music did. Speaking of references, this film feeds off the mythology of the original to a far bigger extent than I was led to believe. And it is a problem when moviegoers get pleasure from having the nostalgia gene massaged rather than from the unexpected. The film didn’t go full "Chewie, we’re home" but it got close

t. my taste is irrecoverably shit

You sound like a faggot

Reddit: The Movie

t. My favorite movies are Drive and Escape from New York

>t. basement dwelling autist who is afraid to leave his room and waits for chink torrent encodes so he can half watch movies he already prehates on his 13 inch Toshiba laptop

> its this fucking movie again when plebs are allowed to feel themselves smart because characters are talking about existentialism and religious references right into your face in an extremely cringey way
Don't bother talking with redditors. Screen cap this post, this movie won't be remembered and discussed after a week from now.

t. the guy(see manchild) that probably praised john wick, edge of tomorrow, it follows and various other vapid imdb essentials at one point in his extremely short film consuming time

Can't wait for all these "reddit" anons to get heavily triggered when even Armond writes a praising review of it, just like he praised both Sicario and Arrival

>this movie won't be remembered and discussed after a week from now.
D E L U S I O N A L

You know that this film will be discussed here for years right?
I mean people like you said the same thing about Interstellar, and here we are 3 years later still with basically daily Interstellar threads. And that film wasn't even good, while clearly the majority of Sup Forums liked BR 2049

>if I'm a basement dwelling autist who is afraid to leave his room and waits for chink torrent encodes so he can half watch movies he already prehates on his 13 inch Toshiba laptop then so is everyone else
Cannot stop laughing

>90% on Reddittomatoes
Based Armond is going to rip this flick apart

Try not to cry when Goose dies, it's impossible.

I watched it yesterday in IMAX ;)

Holy shit you are a fucking retard.

user, Armond loves Villeneuve. Both Sicario and Arrival have very high RT scores and he praised both.

Do yourself a favor and watch it in the biggest screen possible with loud sound systems.

Sorry, Sup Forums. Next time I write about movie you guys like I'll be sure to say "KINOxD, BASED ___, DA MUSIC WAS EPIC" and stuff.

>alien vs aliens

Good comparison

This. If you're in Illinois highly recommend going to the IMAX in Navy Pier haven't felt that engulfed into a movie in a long time that theatre is insane

>posts william butthurt
>is actually butthurt

lol

>plebs come to Sup Forums to talk about it and spew their optimistic and positive opinions about it
>the patrician regular posters either wait for for the rip or are in the minority
>the plebs leave because they have other boards to shitpost on
>all that's left are the regular Sup Forums posters
>they usually hate it since movies like this tend to be shit
>cycle repeats when the YIFY torrent comes out but forces are more evenly matched this time

You see the problem is that they won't be leaving this time. Its Halloween month so they'll be here looking for horror recs and then Justice League/Thor are right around the corner and then the biggest cancer star wars 8 is up. It'll be impossible for real Sup Forums locals to discuss this and many other films until February at least(assuming /film/ isn't made or they're not happy with episode 8 like with 7)

Here's the actual corrected cycle
>new movie comes out
>regular patricians and tourist crossposters come to Sup Forums to talk about it and discuss their opinions about the film
>as the opening week is passing by only the regular patrician posters are left discussing the film
>then the regular literally autistic posters who are afraid to leave their house wait for the first whatever atrocious torrent encode of the film and watch it on their 13 inch Toshiba laptop
>they watch 15 minutes of it, make a thread how it's "boring" or "nothing happens", "reddit" and all the other usual meaningless defensive buzzwords
>the regular autistic posters are joined by autistic tourist posters from other boards that are the most absolute casuals and make even more retarded overly simplistic points about the film that don't mean anything
>then shitposting commences until it's all replaced with the release of an another film

Oh and you call tell they're because they've set themselves up a general like the good little tourists here for game of thrones like they are

Don't use terms you obviously don't understand

he already wrote it and he didn't like it

the contrarians dont usually have to wait to see it, since they have no friends or self esteem they always wait to pirate it.

drive is alright you brainlet
haven't seen those but the original blade runner is my all time favourite movie and this sequel atleast tries to be good which it succeeded you opinionated shit for brains.

>Here's the actual corrected cycle
By someone that started using Sup Forums after 2016 and only when a flavor of the month movie/tv/ show is airing. Go ahead and try to deny it now or ignore the post ;)

Why are you so mad about Blade Runner being good?

will this movie give you feels like arrival did?

>the mainstream is going to hate it
but most people here seem to like it

>mainstream will hate it
>one of the best reviewed blockbusters of the year

It's been like that forever, you can't call yourself a "patrician" if you wait for films to get on torrents and then proceed to watch in on your computer/TV for the first time, only poor teenagers do that.

Please return to Reddit. Sup Forums was never, nor ever will be a place for serious high class discourse. You seem to have deluded yourself into thinking this is a place for intellectuals or so. Sorry to break it to you, but you are the odd one out here, normies like you need to leave.

>the patrician regular posters either wait for for the rip or are in the minority
>or are in the minority
It looks to me the cycle is correct which why it makes you outsider so upset. Real Sup Forums locals loathe tfa yet you plebs praise it

KD literally says in that same scene the blackout was "before his time". A for effort though champ!

Didn't catch the unicorn. Nice catch.

For that end scene, was it the music? I felt like I heard that before somewhere.

>I started using Sup Forums after bane posting showed me it in 2014 so it was never for actual film

Do you wanna play a game of oldfag that will end up with you showing that you're still in your Sup Forums phase proving me correct?

>patrician fedora tipping Sup Forums shitposters
>having seen movie on release, pre torrent.

I had a giggle. The only time to discuss a movie here is in the week after its release. After that all the "patricians" you talk about who are too socially rejected to go to a cinema will have their Chinese bootleg copies which they will see 10 minutes of before making multiple threads to provoke a human response to their existence in a desperate attempt to stave off their loneliness.

I know because I speak out of experience. I will be shitposting bladerunner 2 weeks from now and I won't have done more than skip through the thing. See you in my future bumplimit threads.

You type like a teenager fresh off the boat from Sup Forums
Sorry kid, but not liking good movies doesn't make you special ;)

Don't watch if K's NEETness triggers feels.

I'm still crying over his tragedy

Nah buddy, Sup Forums as a whole is newfag in and of itself. None of Sup Forums ever was, nor will ever be for any sort of highbrow discussion you seem to be alluding to. I hear Reddit calling you, time to return.

Read Blade Runner's official social media posts
>"BOOOORING" over and over

>there was a light tapping throughout the tense casino scene that really freaked me out, felt like it was coming from my body, the sound design was masterful

>didn't deny it at all and is now attempting to turn it around
That's exactly what I thought. The absolute gall of you newfriends

didnt mean to greentext that
but with these remaining seconds ill say the most powerful musical bit may have been what sounded lie Vangelis over the waterfall

Can you imagine those people seeing the original? Compared to the original this one was going hard on speed&coke. Capeshit generation needs to be purged.

I'm gonna go watch it a second time because I don't have a home theater that'll do justice like at the movies

>nah buddy
Why? Is it because you're not actually someone that was here during the boards high cineIQ time?

Oh and
This is how you spot a Redditor.
The whole "le Sup Forums is only for le shitposting, not actual discussion! xD" attitude didn't exist before the Reddit influx.
The fact that people usually add-on "serious discussion is for Reddit, Sup Forums is for shitposting! xD" to this opinion is just further proof that they are, in fact, from Reddit and are crossposting here because they think every Sup Forums board is Sup Forums, like the average newfriend.

Never seen the original, Should I watch the Original one to fully understand this one?

>Any good?

Just watch the original one, its good on its own.

Oh and Reddit(you) come here to spew their shit. This is their place where they could say nigger, smear shit on the wall and not get banned. You get off on smearing shit on the wall, waiting for the home owner to come home and laughing when the owner freaks out. Why would you discuss movies here? You discuss movies on reddit, your home. Sup Forums is for memes and memes only. Sup Forums to you is a place famous for being shit, so you come here to shit.

Yep, waiting for a package to arrive hopefully then going to see it again (w/ based moviepass) both for the visual and aural mastery and now knowing the plot machinations. Absolutely a big screen film.

>picture showing us how the fags spoiling Sup Forums with faggoty posts used to be Reddit "then" and is still Reddit "now".
bravo, not even him, but you are an idiot. Both the "then" you and the "now" you need to return to Reddit.

>I've never seen the first bladerunner, and was expecting to see another avengers movie.
I swear underaged shitters can't get more obvious with posts like these.

both of you need to go back

I'm gonna watch this on acid for sure.

I like the layers upon layers of deception going on here, including some perpetrated by our guy. This all resonates well with the overarching theme being the search for genuine.

That your waifu's love is the only genuine thing in the world is the biggest punchline of philosophical kinoes.

it will be remembered. the idiots who like the director don't watch many films anyway, just the latest capeshit. they'll be discussing it for months

It's funny that you say this yet the only reason you're on Sup Forums right now is because they managed to change this board.
Tell me, outsiders
Do you honestly believe you would be posting on Sup Forums today if gingermod didn't help your ancestors take over?

9/10
All of my friends liked it even thought they don't like most SciFi shit I show them. Goat movie

funny how you brought up tfa out of nowhere as some kind of argument
bet you're reguarly involved in whatever capeshit discussions also

If you have friends you dont belong here. No amount of whining will change that btw so don't bother. Normies never were and never will be welcome on Sup Forums.

Hello newfriend,
You seem to erroneously believe this is a place for clean serious discussion. The last defense of a Reddit poster in disguise is a desperate attempt to sound like a Sup Forums "veteran". The most heard statement being "Sup Forums containing shitposts and non serious threads outside of Sup Forums in the past is a meme!" or something along those lines. A futile attempt to pretend that Sup Forums used to be a well sanitized and serious place for intellectuals to discuss their hobbies in a civil manner, and that it is merely "newfags" ruining the experience.
A true old flag would know that nothing could be further from the truth. Sanitizers were and always will be the actual newfags. The people who want this to be "Reddit, but with less moderation" rather than simply let it be its own thing.

The only up side to all this is that people like you have been coming here for about 14 years now, and people like you have been failing for 14 years, day in, day out. This place has always done its own thing, and will hopefully do so for some time to come.

>>>/R9k/

TFA was the last big movie that went through the cycle. If you were here you would remember how awful it was. There are still a handful of apes trying to convince people it was good like this mong

The cycle repeats with every single movie you utter brainlet, no matter big or small.
No matter what film, the basement dwelling autists who see it first time when the chink torrent encode is up hate it more than it was hated upon release and make far more overly general and meanignless statements about the film

Still not him, and you are still merely posting pics showing us how it always was, and always will be, Reddit that shits all over this place.

Sup Forums then was shit because of Reddit trying to use it as an unmoderated alternative to their subs.
Sup Forums now is shit because of Reddit trying to use it an an unmoderated alternative to their subs.

you do realize we get raided by paid shills every time a big movie releases right?

Read this post lurkers. This is the teenage upset palpable. This boy has shown you in full display he was never here before baneposting
