this cant be real

you bet it is.

So that's why it's calle BLU Ray.

It's not.

It looked white on my blu ray

I'm genuinely curious why they would do that?

It is, though it's only really noticeable with the ice.

Color corrected by Zach Synder.

this cant be fucking real who the fuck looked at this and approved of it

FUCK

The altered white balance improved like 2 scenes, while completely ruining everything else.

MY

Where's the best release of LOTR? I only have the EE DVDs but I want a good high resolution version.

SHIT

...

UP

This is fucked. Especially since all the scenes set inside the matrix were intentionally gives a green filter to signify that its virtual or whatever. Removing the filters not only looks shit but also hinders the visual storytelling of the film

I watched it in theatres like seven times when it came out. The original film colour treatment looked like the top one.

I don't give a shit which one you think looks better, but that's the fucking truth. The film stock was processed to make it look that way and anything else is an alteration.

>baldbookgeek:
>my old dvd had a faded look the blu ray looks so much better

Why fucking teal, though?

cyan

>Dawson Boyle:
>I like the green cast better it makes the film more sureal

why

Part of it is how colour film stock of the era (early 80's to late 90's) looked when it was developed.

Starting at that baseline they had some control over the look during development and old-fashioned colour grading, but at the end of the day, the film they were using played a big role.

And you laughed at me for downloading 700 MB DVD rips.

A: 10
V: 10

thanks YIFY!

The bluray is actually better

You ever been skiing? You'll have to wear black/blue/orange glasses that will make it look like the top image.
The change is good for immersion.

Did I ever tell you my favorite color was blue?

I sure as hell don't laugh now, user.

EE-fix still has a weird green tint which bleeds into the other colors.

>you haven't aged a day

wdhmbt?

most people on this site have never been outside

EE is more realisitc. His skin tone matches real life now.

that's a good one.

Ah yes, the famous blue snow of Hithaeglir, songs have been sung about it's unnatural beauty.

Saruman the blue-green wizard

I went to see a film print of 2001 a few months ago and it also looked more teal than the DVD and Blu-ray I own.

I think what happens is when they make the digital master for home video they have to reset the white balance and color timing themselves. They go for a more neutral look which has a bit of a pink tint, and these new 4K masters try to bring back the teal thats in the prints.

there's no skin anymore

because real life's colors suck

what film?

There's only one movie in the entire universe that looks that way, and that movie is Blade Runner.

kak

looks really cool

I haven't been in a cinema in years but I'll go see this one

It's the Blade Runner not showing in the theaters...

...

European MGM remaster looks so much fucking better.

am I missing something?

the other blade runner

does anyone have a compiled list of famous movies ruined in by bluray=

how do you not remember the teal? Moria is ingrained in my mind as a teal mess
