Shame it was the last Rankin/Bass special essentially, I think it failed to hit the mark when it aired. Still hasn't really been a successor in terms of overall Christmas special quality to them as of yet in my opinion.

It aired on Fox Family and then when it became ABC Family as well, though I don't think they've had it on in the last few years however, real shame, it might be lost to time if it loses airtime permanently during this time of year. Lots of the Rankin/Bass specials aren't getting aired anymore except for the big ones like Santa Claus is Coming to Town or Rudolph on CBS.
