OK the story wasn't THAT profound on paper and it was maybe 10 minutes too long, but the visuals and music were monumental, there wasn't single scene that didn't feel like I wasn't witnessing a bona fide cinematic event.
Why are brainlets fucking obsessed with plots? Did they have to write a paper on it? Are some people just less conscious? What the fuck is wrong with the general viewing public? Is this the Age of the Pleb?
>but the visuals and music were monumental Are you fucking tone def and blind? The visuals were complete shit. Color correction and shitty sepia tone scenery was completely bland, and the soundtrack couldn't hold Vangelis cum rag.
Liam Jones
They’re used to spoon fed plots that give an easy understanding of who’s good and who’s evil and levity via quips.

To accept Villeneuve as a quality director is to garb yourself in a coat of hot pockets and video games and then writh around on the ground in a supermarket while screaching and slapping yourself on the sides of your head.
He is cheeto dust. Nothing more.

it was pure edginess to execute her right there instead of taking her away. shows how villenueve lacks all subtlety

>didn't understand the offworld references throughout the first and second movie. Normies have attention spans of ants. Just wait for transformers kiddo.

They mean to torture him, they are taking him to 'extract some information' right after that.

Also it shows that Earth is really backwater, Wallace is just visiting Earth, and his corporation HQ isn't even on it. It says Earth's HQ not Wallace HQ

can someone explain the matching dna scene? is there going to be a sequel that explains the significance of it?

It looked worse than the original no idea how they did that

They faked the DNA of one of the kid by switching it with the other.

This film is void of everything that made the original a good film. The first film and the book Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?, are often considered some of the best philisophical works of the past 100 years. Blade Runner 2049 had no point from beginning to end. In the original. you could find 10 different major philisophical points the film had, about the relationship between god and man, mortality, what makes a person real, what does it mean to truly live.. and there are many more. This film doesnt have any point... at all. The original had like 10 philisophical points you could write books on. This film does not have a single one. Not one. Its sort of mind blowing that they can get away with it.... I feel offended that they can just slap the Blade Runner name on it and have it have nothing to do with the heart of the original.... like if theyd made a new Star Wars film where they didnt mention or have the force. The whole heart and reason for existing is just not there.
Wyatt Cox
>He still doesn't understand

so are there two kids or not? did they just do it to cover their tracks? there are no database controls to flag duplicates like in every database since 1985?

You clearly don't understand what's being talked about so why interject?
Colton Anderson
>thinking digital means use of green screen and CGI, and not the type of device used to record the fucking movie

Why does this movie even have a villain? There is no villain the first one. This one adds two cartoon retarded autists as villains one of both genders for who knows why.

This board is being shilled so hard for this piece of shit movie.
It's box office numbers keep going down from predictions.
You shills will be gone within a week and then everyone will know what a horrible movie this was
Ian Reed
you should see it before doing your contrarian schitck
Brayden Brown
It honestly isn't that shit and is more enjoyable than it has any right to be. It's no sci-fi masterpiece by any means but in the sea of shit that Hollywood keeps churning out, it was nice to watch a movie that felt like it had some care and thought put into it.
Julian Gomez
>Anyone that doesn't like garbage is a contrarian

Though I will add on that the story starts to nose dive quite a bit in the second half.

Nobody walked out or booed at my theater. Even a little kid sat through the whole thing.

>>Blade Runner 2049 was shot almost entirely without green screen and it STILL looked like shit HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA But it's another example that tools dont matter, it's the skillset of the person that uses them that matters If directed by one of the worst ever, aka Villepleb, a film will always look bad and be bad, whether it uses practical or cgi
Dylan White
>Jesus is born >suddenly tons of holy wars
>powerful assassin working for most powerful man in the city >cant edit/manipulate cameras inside a police station
I'll give you that last one, but it happens in almost every movie.

>>one replicant had a kid thirty years ago >>this means immesiate global war watch blackout 2020 >>kill two people in a police station two different times >>walk right out no big deal >implying wallace corp. can get away with it also watch vid related youtube.com/watch?v=UgsS3nhRRzQ >>wallaces goons kidnap deckard >>beats goslings ass >>leaves him alive K literally bled to death after that just like in Drive
Anthony Martin
>There was an effort made by Alcon to get younger crowds on board and caught up with the pic’s lore with an elaborate timeline presentation at Comic-Con (later shared on Facebook), as well as three custom-made YouTube shorts starring Jared Leto and Dave Bautista that explain the events leading up to Blade Runner 2049. Such great lengths aren’t paying off.
They are openly admiting they are paying people to viral this trash.
Adrian Brown
Does anyone else have issues with relating to K's character?
Obviously the film is a character piece in that we follow K with what hes doing, and other events, like the revolution etc. are just happening around him, but with him being a replicant I found it hard to really connect with him as a character, especially after finding out he wasn't really Deckard's son and was just another replicant.
Just me?
Adrian Campbell
I felt the fights lacked tension because K is not human and nearly unkillable.
Thomas Watson
there was a theme between man and flesh, man and his relationship with the touch of others
Luke Young
no one wants to watch for visuals on here m8. we have seen way too much stuff be be impressed by visuals.
Jack Cox
>doesn't watch a visual medium for primarily the visuals
holy SHIT this board
Mason Price
I felt that was kind of the point, hence why his relationship with the VR girl takes on another tone after the reveal that he isn't actually deckards son. He really is just another replicant and the closest he got to real love was an elaborate computer program that someone stepped on.
Asher Cooper
Take the time to help everyone out and go fuck a rake.
Jack Richardson
Thats a very good point, I didn't really look at it that way.
I was still hoping for an extra twist with K, just something to give me more of an investment in his character
Grayson Campbell
>You shills These aren't shills they're pleb crossposters that don't watch more than a handful of actual film a year >will be gone within a week They won't leave though it's october and they spoopy skeleton!!!! movies for halloween and then Jusice League and Thor 3 is coming out AND then SW8
Samuel Miller
>good visuals make a good movie the absolute state of Sup Forums

No, good visuals make a good visual experience and since the plot was serviceable and dialogue pretty sharp for a sci-fi I can't complain now can I you drooling reddit mong
Camden Williams
>good visuals + avg plot = good movie the ABSOLUTE state of Sup Forums in 2017 holy shit
Ian Turner
It was kind of like the ordinary, hard-done-by man begins to fall into a fantasy that his life might actually be extraordinary, but then has it completely taken away from him.
It wouldn't have fitted with the overall feeling of despair and a undesirable future if he was a miracle.
Mason Gray
Not only that but every refn flick since drive has done a better job at it too

The replicants will care though, and they're all that human colonization is built upon. It'd be like telling that they're more than expendable trash to service humans since they carry the power to bring life out into the world too.
Don't be retarded on purpose user.
Joshua Powell
Great visuals + average plot = good movie
Autism speaks
Jaxon Gonzalez
the whole movie was predicated upon new replicants being physically incapable of disobedience. what they care about is irrelevant
Wyatt Fisher
So why did K have the memories of Deckard's actual daughter? In fact how was she even in that shithole where she hid the toy if she had some immunity problems and had to live in a bubble?
Aiden Harris
the absolute state of Sup Forums is thinking this movie had good visuals at all this was one of the drabbest, blandest and ugliest looking movies i've ever seen even when they basically copied the fury road setting in those scenes where cuckling finally meets harrison ford it still looked ugly
Michael Scott
How do you explain K then? He lied and disobeyed orders... I think that the police are now able to monitor how far a replicant veers from his programming, which is what those "cells, interlinked" scenes were, but that's the best they can do in terms of the robot's obedience or not.
Nathaniel Cooper
can't wait for blade runner 3: War of the Replicants directed by michael fucking bay
Eli Butler
It only manifested when she was ten... I'm having trouble believing you've seen this movie.
Also, she manufactures memories for Wallace, which they then implant into their Nexus 8s... Some happen to be hers but fuck it, she ain't paid enough for that shit.
Brandon Adams
Get out.
Ryan Hernandez
>purchase ticket to go see blade runner >walk into mlp movie instead
Ayden Ross
Oh so K just happened to get her memories, he wasn't actually some plant whose entire purpose was to find Deckard and all this shit?
Thomas Martin
I think this movie felt very honest unlike his previous efforts. This was true kino. I share your enthusiasm OP. The thought of this guy making Dune is very exciting.
Nolan Wright
>dystopian cityscape is ugly
Holy shit the brainlets just keep coming
Luis Adams
I don't know why the predictions are low. I live in Netherlands and BL2049 sessions are mostly filled with people. This is for IMAX 3D.
Leo Phillips
I don't think you know the meaning of the word 'viral'.
Ian Smith
It's ambiguous I think. But she does believe that her parents are her own, so who's to say. Could be that she seeded various memories of herself for replicants to carry so they'd maybe stumble on her parents for her.
Villeneuve isn't the kind of director who's going to give you a plain answer.
