Whats his fucking problem

Whats his fucking problem

He's essentially what would happen if an user somehow got hired in comics.

Autistic pedophile.

Objection; I would never talk shit about Christopher Reeve

Simple odds says you share an environment with plenty of people who would.

He had horrible trigger discipline for one

He's an egotistical asshole, and a real, actual pedophile.

Used to do some good comics, though.

A fucking pedophile
Keep this man away from muties

He's the very thing he rants about on his forum.
He hates comic fans. He thinks they're all like the Simpsons guy, but yet he's exactly the same way. Classic self hatred. Plus a massive ego.
And he's a pedo.

he is the grandfather of Sup Forums

in other words, Sup Forums in a nutshell

wait hes a pedo? when did this happen?

besides being the best Superman writer ever? idk

Romantic/sexual situations involving minors come up in a lot of his books, and he's written about the subject at least once.

He said that pedos are the next step in human evolution.

Byrne is right

What's the opposite of Christopher Walken?

>over 3 decades back

People change, baka

...

>Pedophiles are almost certainly "born that way". Again, we go to evolutionary conditioning. Seek the youngest, strongest, most healthy, for breeding purposes. A sure (or as sure as it gets) way to guarantee the survival of your genes. Pedophilia also brings along a big heaping helping of learned responses, however. In a society like ours, where "normal" sex is considered by many to be filthy and disgusting, "abnormal" sex is of course even moreso. "Abnormal" in this case meaning anything—even simple physical attraction—that is not "age-appropriate", heterosexual, and strictly for procreation. Preferably missionary position. Thus, any confused individual who finds himself attracted to young girls is likely to find himself attracted to increasingly younger girls, as part of his pattern of self-loathing. So much emotional torment—in victims and victimizers—would surely be set aside if our society was sexually liberated enough to even be able to say "Sure, it's okay to be attracted to eleven year olds. Just don't do anything about it!" (2010)

Well, at least I know who was the main inspiration and role model for hopeless.

>the writer who ruined Superman
>the best

Austism. Not in the Sup Forums insult sense, but in the literal sense.

>Best Superman
>Put in a porno

Well if nothing else we know your opinions are null and void.

He's the evil Chris Claremont.

Assholes on the Internet who don't have a clue.

>Reeve
>Latinas with blonde hair
>Puritanical people who look down on someone who has sex with 11 y.o.
>Moore
>Morrison
>Gaiman
>Steve Irwin
>Silver age
>Mature comics
>Black people
>The Onion

what's his problem with steve irwin?

You mean, Dark Claremont Phoenix?

Different user, but you are a fucking pleb.
Anyone who doesn't appreciate "world of krypton" and "man of steel" is a fucking noob and deserves to be laughed at

In other words, look anons, look at this faggot and laugh

>says a kid who never read superman
>on the internet

He's the Dan Slott of his time.

Saying Byrne is the best Superman writer is like saying Snyder is the best Superman writer. Both only get praised by people who started reading with the new number ones on the cover.

He thinks the fact that he got up close with animals was recklessly endangering himself, and therefore he deserved to die and also have his children taken away and his wife leave him.

He probably wanted to fuck Bindi Irwin, really.

*saying Snyder is the best Batman writer. Not Superman.

Uh... I agree with the being attracted to the health of younger people and steve irwin being reckless and responsible for his own death.

But, irwin did die as he lived... with animals in his heart.

>But, irwin did die as he lived... with animals in his heart.
Too soon, user. too soon.

Look, I'm not going to say I agree with his premise but academically talking about pedos doesn't make him a pedo. That's like academically using the word "nigger" and people chimping out over it.

Can I say he isn't a pedo? No. But I can't say anyone IS or ISN'T anything when I've never even met them.

And he makes good comics.

Silver age Superman is the best Superman. Some of the best world building in comics history and a surprising amount of variety. The bronze age can be pretty cool too with guys like Maggin and Bates building on what came before but there's also a lot of stuff like O'Neill's stories where the only conflict he can think of involves depowering Superman (this only works in the Muhammad Ali comic).

The Byrne era is definitely below that. He threw out all that great mythology and dwelled on too much Roy Thomas style continuity explanations. The comics aren't bad and I like some of them a lot but they are far from the best cape comics. Honestly, the best thing about this era is Jerry Ordway, who is one of the finest Superman artists.

I don't care about your opinion, pleb

Posting on Sup Forums is like posting on tumblr. Both only get praised by people who started posting it there as noobs

Byrne was praised by veterans for being one of the few, who understood the mythos, and who was actually capable of reinvigorating them, without betraying what made them cool in the first place, as opposed to the new breed of writers and artists, who were going to the "edgy" side of the 80s and 90s.

He was of course popular among the newer wave of readership, but there is a reason that Byrne was a superstar and respected both among the old and new readership. Not that you would understand any of these things.

>Neo-Silver age Superman is the best Superman.
FTFY

He isn't more powerful than baseline Claremont so no.

projecting

Jesus christ John, don't you have a whole forum of sycophants to shitpost on? Fuck off to your KKK meeting with Peter the Romani Ravager.

Mark Millar is a massive Maggin/Bates fag. He has gone on the record to say the Byrne take on the character where he is Clark first and Superman second is absolutely ridiculous, a Marvelization of what is essentially a DC concept, throwing away what made the character unique and different from the rest.

I'm open to different takes of Superman but I can see where he's coming from.

>using the opinions of others to validate your own opinions
>placing value in the opinions of comics professionals
Most superhero comics creators are either hacks who weren't good enough to work in other creative fields or nerds who loved comics growing up but never bothered to learn about aesthetics.

Think for yourself.

Yeah, but Superman was too pure to be controlled, unlike that slut Big Barda who was drooling for superdick.

That's not what makes him a pedo, the fact that every single one of his books usually has an inappropriate sexual attraction between a young girl and a older man.

His own series, Next Men was about underaged girls being used for breeding experiments. But underage isn't enough, these girls are tainted, they need to get purer, younger girls to breed.

>a Marvelization of what is essentially a DC concept

I actually agree with this part, even though there was still a lot I liked the Post-COIE Superman.

Then why are you here? On 24th december?

There is certainly some point in that, but Millar is hardly a person, I would like to agree with anything.

Peter?
Peter "Got Stroke, from Gypsy Bloke" David?
Peter "Cursed by gypsy, my limps are now witsy" David?
Peter "Kill a gypsy, save a child from walking backwards" David?

Are we talking about that Peter David?

Millar has changed. Read Huck.

I refuse to read Millar. I used to read Millar when he was writing Dredd. I feel like I should be justified for refusing reading Millar. Or not. I don't care

I love comics. I can love comics while still acknowledging that the majority of people involved in comics have shit taste.

It's christmas user. Let's talk about comics. We don't have families, but at least we have comics to talk about. I also want to talk about comics. It's just that I'm not interested in elitism

I remember reading through the 2000 AD boards and seeing that Millar was one of the most despised 2000 AD writers.

Some things never change, huh?

Unrelated but old revolvers are so cool.

Don't tell me when to laugh, faggot

Byrne is still a great penciller but in a lifetime of work his inking has only gotten worse.

I will tell you when yo laugh, faggot, because you're to autistic to know yourself, faggot

TRUE. He shouldn't have inked himself.

When seeing this thread, I was thinking about the same thing. Byrne's problem is inking.

>he doesnt want to fuck bindi irwin
proletariate tier desires

who the fuck is bindi irwin?
>google
mmmm, nice tits

Hopeless is a lolicon?

Putting down someone else's opinion and citing "the factual opinions of comics veterans" is an elitist tactic. It implies gatekeepers exist and that one must bow to the opinions of said gatekeepers. I merely called out what I consider a bad argument.

I'm not trying to be malicious. I love talking about comics and sometimes that involves debating comics with people. Sometimes debates create understanding. That's probably what I'll be doing with my brother when I get to my family's house tonight. Merry Christmas.

I'm different user, actually. Merry X-mas too.

W-what are you going to do with your brother?

Well sort of, the last time I remember Millar being despised was Kick-Ass 2. After that there's relatively little hate toward Millar for his current output. I think Bendis or Slott have gotten more hate currently.

> After that there's relatively little hate toward Millar for his current output.
probably, because people don't read it, and they don't read it, because it's indie, har har.
Bendis and Sloot are hated, because they write marvel

Why does he hate The Onion? Did he take one of their articles seriously or something?

Millar is still one of the best Superman writers with his Superman adventures. One of the few great works he has.

Huck might not be edgy, but it isn't really good.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I thought this at first but he had people talking about his 00's indie stuff even to this day (Wanted, Kick-Ass) and Kick-Ass 2 was done after he stopped doing Marvel mainstream work.

You surely proved me wrong.

>Even Millar wrote a better Superman run than Byrne, Stern, Loeb, Johns and other hacks who have written Superman for the past three decades.
Will we ever get a decent run on Superman again?

He ran out of ideas after MoS. The rest of his run wasn't really remarkable.

>bindi irwin
Oh my.

Yes. Wikiquote has a collection of Bryne quotes that link to mostly dead pages now. But he did complain about the accuracy of The Onion once, and claimed that they had been very factual in the past

"The Onion lost all credibility for me a while back when they did a “story” on the Hudson River cleanup GE was forced to do. As some of you may recall, one of my neighbors is a GE veep, and he was directly in charge of this, so from him I found out all kinds of details the press did not bother to pass along to the public. Since The Onion apparently gets its info from other papers, the story was full of inaccuracies.

What are they, Michael Moore?

Anyway, I stopped reading The Onion from then on. (2005)"

...

I'd laugh, but after reading his book on writing comics where he talks about always trying to get and understand both sides of every story and then see him go all "Kill the Gypsies!" it feels like not only is he becoming senile but turning into a typical racist grandpa in the process. And it's so sad since I love his books but now I fear picking up new ones and see that creep into the pages.

...

She was still under aged and flat chested when Byrne spoke on the topic, naturally.

Is only okay to be pedo in his books if you're an older male with a younger female.
Not a word on /ss/

He is planning to write his definitive Superman story somewhere during 2017-2018. He already said it a lot of times this year. He's just looking for the right time. Apparently he wants Immonen in the story so he's going to wait until his contract with Marvel is done.

>he likes Byrne Man
Go back to reading Marvel you pleb. Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Superman was significantly better

It's because people don't read Millar. Ironically since then he has actually written non edgy, comfy stuff.

I believe that since he was part of that 4-writers pitch with Waid, Morisson and I always forget the 4th guy, where their take on Superman was that he is Superman and Clark Kent is a tribute to all our flaws (but not in Kill Bill's "critique" way but a "love letter way" where Clark Kent is awkward, clumsy and a pushover because Superman admires those parts of humanity he can never really have).

Huck is something you pick up if you hated MoS and BvS - Millar wrote it because he felt Snyder "raped Superman" or something like that.

"Me and Gwant!" thing is still going?

Don't be ridiculous- at least Byrne could draw.

Neo Silver age almost always misses the point
They either do it ironically (heh heh look how dumb this is)
Or
They use Boring Superman who lacks the pathos of the silver age version because they are too afraid to make superman look like a lunatic like he was back then

Millar is such a weird guy. I would never have believed that the same guy who wrote Wanted, Ultimates and Nemesis has Superman as his absolute favorite character ever.

He aims a bit older, at teenage girls, but it still comes of creepy where he makes a character like Anachronism or hijacks one like Alex Wilder or Angel to live out his fantasies. And in some of his stuff you can see similiar sentiments that would sometimes creep into Byrne's works, like the whole "nerd getting respect and laid" thing he had with Anachronism - it felt like that time Byrne had a nerd mind-control Superman to choke Wonder Girl while talking how women never showed him proper respect. Only even less self-aware.
And of course, Hopeless' favorite character, Arcade, was co-created by Byrne. I think he's clearly influenced by Byrne's works, only having even less skill on his own.

This is actually a good question, why writers like Millar or Ennis who despise capeshit and seem very cynical seem to unironically love Superman. I wonder what they see in him, compared to average capeloving Superman fan.

I don't know how I feel about it. While I love Superman adventures, his red son and Huck didnt do anything for me.

Yup, sure that guy would breach NDA and Party line just cause you're so loveable, John.

I still think Superman adventures was ghost written by Morrison.
