absolute dog shit

I talked to my nephew last night about BvS, and yeah, it is that bad.

Three extra scenes totally redeem Skwad.
BvS... no amount of extra scenes would fix that movie.

To be honest, the ultimate versions are even worse.

The extended edition actually makes Suicide Squad worse

as a general rule more of something that was already bad doesn't make it good

BvS already felt too long.

They make little difference. They're both disappointments for me

BvS theatrical: 10/10
Ultimate: 11/10
Disregard retards, only listen to me.

Nope, they're both good, the extended editions only made them better.

Only the one on the left.

...

The extended edition of BvS actually managed to be worse

Suicide Squad is literally Licensed Music: The Movie

Yeah harley won't take that gosh darn hat off

I'm already expecting Wonder Woman to be bland shit, but can only imagine what Justice League will be like. What's the worst fuckup it could do? Would they abandon the DCEU if it does poorly?

Both are really good movies for what they are, an action film in SS and a great cape story with twist and turns in BvS

Most of the complains are about retarded shit outside the movie or people not understanding simple scenes, etc.

Oh this user sure sounds like an open minded person about DC movies, let's engage with him!

BvS is about two hours of setup to a ridiculously hamhanded two-minute fight followed by a Doomsday fight which managed to be even worse

I'm glad you get off to DEEP symbolism though

I've become bitter I'll admit. SS frustrated me and I'm tired of this whole mess. But that's just my opinion.

In Suicide Squad's case? Yes, absolutely.

In Batman vs Superman's case? Maybe not.

Honestly the fight wasn't that important and it should have been shorter. The fight was a very small part of the movie. The Doomsday fight was great, unless you're willing to provide evidence to the contrary.

They've got a point though, as the tone for JL looks to be shifting hard from the overall darker, bleakness of BvS to something more competitive with the MCU (comedic, lighter all around), but with Snyder still at the helm, it's likely that he'll still make parts of it dark and whatnot, meaning that it could likely end up a mashed up mess that is completely tonally inconsistent and badly written if the script isn't refined enough from the get-go.

I think BvS's extended edition was good, but not enough to completely save it. If you liked the theatrical version, the extended edition just made it better. If you were on the fence, it maybe won you over by smoothing over some plot problems. But if you disliked it, then the Extended Edition likely wouldn't change things enough to make it something you would like.

The extended edition of BvS adds a whole hour to the runtime. I find it absurd that it was okay to cut so much content that ultimately gives a better understanding of the film

Suicide Squad? Yes.
Batman vs Superman? The main problem with the movie is how the first hour drags in. Lex plan seems pointless because Batman already flat out states his motivation before Lex plans goes int overdrive and it kinda fails anyway. So why keep that fucking hour in?
The expanded scenes do not fix the main problem with character motivation or dialogue.

Plus Snyder's vision for all of these characters feels pretty damn bad. I'm glad he's out and Johns is in as consultant for this series.

Yes.

SS is significantly worse than BvS though.

The first hour had tons of character development and some pretty great scenes. It also showed how many other people perceived Superman and Batman, as well as Superman's relationship with Lois. Lots of contrast between Superman and Batman. So much good content in the whole movie.

>Lex plan seems pointless
Batman would have waited longer without Lex pushing him. He wouldn't have had as big of a motivation. Notice how he basically just gave up after his first confrontation with Superman, just leaving him with a threat, then after the senate bombing he gets incredibly angry and takes the Kryptonite from Lex using brute force. Basically Lex was the catalyst. I'm not sure if Batman would have even tried to fight Superman instead of just knowing where the kryptonite is in case of an emergency. A lot of people get mad and never do anything about it.

Could a fan edit fix BvS?

We already know the plot sucks (ancient humans, atlantians, and amazons are able to defeat Darkseid, both amazons and atlantians grew to hate humans and now the justice league a bond between these three groups blablabla, have to find and protect three Mother Boxes from freaking Steppenwolf)

The actors, except for Affleck, Irons, Fishburne and Simmons, also suck

The special effects will suck after seeing the little effort that went into BvS Doomsday

The music choices will ape Suicide Squad and again not fit with any of the scenes, thus sucking

Zack Snyder sucks, Chris Terrio sucks, WB sucks

SO yes, JL will suck, definetely

Not of that extra shit matters. "Martha" negates most of it, Lex flat out admitting to Lois Lane that it was him negates all of it.

Do people not use their brains when watching movies?

I still can't wrap my head around choosing Steppenwolf. It feels like needless Darkseid teasing and there are a dozen better choices that dont require jumping into New God territory

>plot sucks

Sounds like a typical comic book plot then

>The music choices will ape Suicide Squad

Pulled this from your ass

Problem is they WANT to boom-tube into New Gods. It's like blowing Thanos on Whedon's Avengers.

>The special effects will suck after seeing the little effort that went into BvS Doomsday
There was nothing wrong with him apart from his model.

His model was fine too. A mix between baby Doomsday and fully evolved Doomsday which makes sense since he had no time to evolve.

The only good scene in BvS

Most of post like this feel like you people going out of your way to find flaws in these films

Like of fucking course Justice League is going to be lighter, just like the comics.

Stories involving Batman and Superman a lot of time are dark and serious, so it makes sense to have that tone in BvS

...

> DC still trying to fucking compete
>trying to copy/one up marvel instead of just focusing on making a good DC movie
Its like they don't fucking realize that most people aren't brand loyal and will see both.

Talking out your ass, the post

Yes.

>d-doomsday looked fine guys
youtube.com/watch?v=pq3Tl_NsZp8

looks good

BvS is Kino and Suicide is at least better than most marvel movies.

meh, this is yet another shitposting thread, is pointless to argue with 14 year old kids like without it being a waste of time

So what will they include in Wonder Woman's extended cut?

I think they will cut out loli Diana

BATMAN VERSUS SUPERMAN
>THE FIGHTS NOT IMPORTANT
You must be a very special kind of stupid

That was damage control.

>So we saw all that, and it was okay. The concept art is all from December 2015, before the movie was released and everybody was like 'Wait, this isn't what we want,' so it's all crazy dark. Like there's concept art of STAR Labs that is lit like my favorite dive bar. Who does science in a place lit like that?
birthmoviesdeath.com/2016/06/21/a-hater-tours-the-justice-league-set

>I left London a lot more hopeful for not only Justice League but the future of the DC Cinematic Universe. My only worry is that much of this film was planned before the release of Batman v Superman. A lot of the concept art we saw in the war room was dated before the fallout of that movie. The big concepts were already decided long before BvS hit theaters. This might explain why Batman’s guns are bigger and more intense, which doesn’t seem to match the current tone of the story.
slashfilm.com/justice-league-set-visit/4/

>unironically saying this
Jesus...

Ironic calling people 14 year olds when you like this shitty movie that has a pee in a jar timed explosion.

Johns explicitly said Warner thought the DC movies should be darker and now they are fast tracking to make them brighter sooner

>Batman’s guns are bigger and more intense

lmao
Snyder was going to double down on his stupidity
I want to see that version now

I thought suicide squade won't have an extended cut.

Suicide Squad Extended is somehow worse than the theatrical cut.

BvS Extended brings the movie from a 5/10 to a 7/10.

If this movie ends up throwing out its only interesting element (Zack Snyder's personal weirdness) I'll never forgive WB.

>Concept art showed the setting being host to a nest of Parademons, which the first four members of the Justice League will rush to in an effort to take them out. Getting in there, they'll need to use one of Batman's jaw dropping new vehicles which he calls the Crawler. Seating three, we can only assume The Flash will run alongside as flamethrowers and different gun turrets mow down the army of enemies until the squad gets inside for some hand to hand combat. The Crawler won't be built in its entirety but only in cockpit form. The rest of the four-legged machine will be added in with visual effects.

comicbook.com/dc/2016/06/20/justice-league-set-visit-review-theyre-listening-2/

>The big changes however are in just how many weapons the Batmobile gets equipped with. The front and center hood turret is now a missile launcher with six tubes, and a pair of Gatling guns (bigger than the BvS guns!) sit mounted on each side of the hood closer to the vehicle’s front window. Wing-shaped elements of the vehicle near the side of the cockpit on each side house even more rocket-based weaponry, and the biggest addition of all is roof mounted cannon. This particular heavy gun, which we didn’t see on set, but was featured in the art, serves as artillery and the vehicle deploys stabilizing legs on each side before it can fire. For the gamers out there, think of how it functions like a StarCraft tank in “Siege Mode.”
screenrant.com/justice-league-set-visit-details/?view=all

>We’re going to see an upgraded Batmobile in Justice League. Due to the additional threats Batman has added machine guns and a missile launcher to the top of the vehicle.
>Batman continues to change the Batmobile to fight new enemies. We saw art that showed two massive machine guns and a missile launcher on top.

BvS Extended is not a 7/10. It turns into a 3/10 because all of the extra content is more useless and a waste of time after "Martha."

BvS was shit but it was shit with a certain ambition that I could respect. The visuals were good, some of the themes were good (if a retread of Watchmen), some of the acting was good. It was just the writing that sucked. And make no mistake, it sucked bad. But at least there was something there, it was just poorly executed.

There was absolutely nothing to Suicide Squad. Nada. Zilch. Just a bunch of thoroughly unappealing character in a drab cityscape participating in badly choreographed shootouts while David Ayers plays unfitting music. The worst character (that being Will Smith and Harley Quinn) got the most screentime and there was absolutely no chemistry between the characters period. Harley was the worst attempt at comic relief in an action movie I have seen since probably Jar Jar Binks. It's like you replaced Shoshanna in Inglorious Basterds with Spongebob Squarepants for all the good it does the movie.

Of course both are works of art if you compare them to the loud, cacophonic, self-important car accident that was Man of Steel. It was easily the worst experience I've ever had in a theater.

They'll have an extended Artemis fight sequence since that's the character Snyder actually likes rather than Wonder Woman.

I never saw the theatrical release of BvS but I have a hard time believing people who say the extended cut improved it, because while I was watching all I could think was that the film would've been served well by being about an hour shorter.

idealogical fight, and they even have said they chose to say "v" instead of "vs" for that very reason

that doesnt prove anything, movies change all the time, remember that leaked cinematic about the opening of Age of Ultron?

BvS: Extended is a great movie, and Skwad: Extended is an alright movie that people shit on too hard.

But please stop these threads it only creates bait and shit posting

The main issue is you shouldn't need an extended edition to make a movie good. The theatrical release is what people saw, and both, while maybe not completely garbage, were far and away the most disappointing things I saw in theatres this year.

I haven't seen either of them. When I do should I watch the originals or the extendeds?

You should drink bleach you'll have more fun.

THAT IS PARADOXICAL

>Suicide Squad is literally Licensed Music: The Movie
>Sing

BvS directors cut: Good but the third act is still the weakest part.

Suicide squad: Baaaad.

More contradictory.

extended. and SS should only be watched if you watch BvS and think "how bad could it be?"

>idealogical fight
Yeah, what a fight.
>I think Batman is a menace
>I think Superman is a menace
>huh I guess we're both human, sorta

Nah, only Disney shills say so.

the BvS Ultimate Edition is only an improvement for people who liked the concept of the movie and its take on the characters but couldn't deal with the horrible editing issues.

The skwad ultimate edition isn't even the actual director's cut or rather the original version which was shown in screenings around may, its just the theatrical version with some extras, so it didn't save anything.

/thread

/thread x2

The only version of BvS that I've seen is the extended version and it was dogshit. Can't imagine the suicide Squad extended version is much better.

Yes. Suicide Squads extended edition made practically no difference.
I could hardly tell there was anything new.

Squad is kind of weird. The extended edition helps a ton, but we know there's still scenes that would help the film even more. The Joker's full story arc without the breakout scene at the end would make for a better movie.

Though to be honest, the biggest problem with Squad is the opening 15 minutes of montages. Once the story settles, it actually becomes a decent flick. They should have saved those opening introductions for the extras. That way they wouldn't introduce the team THREE FUCKING TIMES before the plot has started. Everything afterwards is fine.

fpbp

My brothers new gf (both divorced with kids) got her daughter a Harley queen plus poison ivy Barbie with a house for them to live as happy lesbians.

>that doesnt prove anything
It proves that Terrio was lying about JL always being a lighter film. And they're already too far into development to get rid of the new Batman weapons, the red in Wonder Woman's costume coming from the blood of her enemies, and another third act destruction porn sequence with the Crawler.

>Comics & Cartoons

The Ultimate Cut helps make the plot if BvS make more sense and gives Superman stuff to do, but it doesn't fix the fact that Lex is shit and drags the film down as a result.

Squad is still a mess and the Ultimate Cut for it doesn't do shit to enhance anything. It's a fun but still stupid and messy movie.

I only saw the extended cut for Squad and found it mediocre but enjoyable

Having seen the scenes that were cut, like the bar scene, I can't even begin to imagine what the movie must have been like without it

BvS was a slog to watch in the theatres and I'm not sitting through more of it ever again

>does poorly

It won't do poorly. All of these universally panned films have made money, which is the goal.

I liked Skwad - it wasn't a big story, it was one of those little "let's introduce our characters" things.
They showed Waller being evil and the Squadies being dangerous and oddly decent under all their murder/hate/crime selves.
They could have made this film with a quarter of the budget and made the story even smaller without anything being lost.

BvS was so horribly long winded and filled to the brim with Snyders love for slo-mo. Yes, it's pretty pictures, it's also just s l o w....

I liked the actors, they did a good job, but jeez, Snyder gets long winded and utterly humour deficient.

>Captain America
>kills people, using guns in movies
>just like in old comics
>nobody bark

>Batman
>manslaughter people, which sometimes leads to death in movies
>just like in old (and sometimes in recent) comics
>nobody bark
*put Snyder*
>MAN, where's muh canon, that's totally out-of-character

You people are biggest and most biased close-minded hypocrites there is.

Fanboys don't like when their personal head-canons aren't religiously followed.

BvS and MoS underperformed

Only Suicide Squad made a solid profit.

...

It's been consistent that Batman doesn't want to kill people. He does in the early comics but he always regrets it and very soon afterward he stops killing the villain of the week (and this is two decades before the comics code).

Captain America is a soldier. Big difference.

Yeah, it's not enough to say "but it made money". BvS did make money; it probably is in profit despite the bloated budget.

But the thing is it didn't make enough money. They guessed how much it should make, they projected future investments against that figure, and not meeting it has meant everything is fucked up for 2017 financially. Movies that were going to be made will now not receive funding (and remember, those movies might have nothing to do with BvS other than being made by WB). Talent will go elsewhere; projects stall, things get pushed back, things get never made because they go to the top of the stack again and by the time they can be made - if ever - the rights are reverted or the actors are too old or whatever. It happens all the time, it's just that this time, BvS caused it.

Squad probably saved the worst of it, because they probably didn't expect a gross that high; but it's nothing like where they would have expected to be financially at this stage.

They've got WW made, JL basically there, they're filming for I think two or three others and funding is locked in if they're not actually going (or in post) right now.

They'd put them out. Anything after that? They'd certainly scale back, quietly. Who's going to miss the Flash solo, or that never-confirmed Batman with Affleck? Not the casuals, they'll go see the next reboot instead, because it doesn't already have a bad reputation.

Are these recent Justice League trailer rumours all just bullshit? That Forbes douche said it was coming out soon but still nothing.

Batsman doesn't like killing and swore it off soon after his initial appetite. It's not like he is packing guns and killing what had to be hundreds of people...wait a minute!

Sssshhhh Snyder Fanboys don't like when their personal head-canons aren't religiously followed.

>He does in the early comics but he always regrets it and very soon afterward he stops killing the villain of the week
having read pretty much the first five years or so of batman so far, that has never happened, he just stopped, more likely due to wanting to be more friendly towards a child audience.

I only ever saw the extended cut for BvS and never got the massive amounts of hate. The characterization was a bit wonky at times so I can see why people don't like it but I cant say it's one of the worst films I ever saw because there were a few parts I really enjoyed. I guess the theatrical cut was just a nonsensical mess

>Would they abandon the DCEU if it does poorly?

Probably not. Suicide Squad made more money than Doctor Strange in both Box Office and Merchandise after all ,so thy know they have an audience. The DCEU would just go Bat centric as fuck

A week or two ago Snyder said that PR would start within the month, then a picture of Flash, Bats, and WW was released. The trailer is just speculation. We can hope though.
