It was better than the original

this post made be believe reddit will never leave

INTERLINKED

Make sense. Villeneuve movies in many ways are just prolonged trailers. Makes the plebs feel good, makes them think they've watched an important work of cinema(a trait shared by Nolan).
When you mature in a few years you'll learn there is more to kino than the movies you found through the IMDb Top 250, and maybe then you can pretend you know anything about the art.

literally not even the best shots in the movie, just the flashy trailer shots. There is some really incredible cinematography in there

Agreed, but I've never been a huge fan of Ridley Scott

Now try to make an actual argument instead of using countless meaningless buzzwords while commenting on the audience, not the auteur.

>tfw way off your baseline

WITHIN CELLS

Of course that is just a 3 min trailer grid. Can't wait for the full thing to be made

>K is in the center of most of the films shots which have their negative spaces filled with more interesting backgrounds emphasizing that this is a small-scale story about his personal journey and not the higher societal implications and consequences of actions taken in the film.
In essence Blade Runner 2049 is a small story in a vast world

here's your fucking "kino"

*stomps*

DREADFULLY

It's stylistically brilliant, I just think the plot was a bit basic.

But it's a genuine bona fide film, not a crappy cash in, so I'm very happy with it.

>tfw no hologram waifu
Why even synthetically live, bros?

>mfw plebs are easily impressed by shitty meme cinematography
>mfw I don't have face

All these kinos will be lost in time... like tears in rain...

Time to flop.

t. someone who didn't even see the film

I can agree with this, although I think the story when summarized is pretty simple, however when you dig into questions like whether K is actually a red herring, or whether Joi's feelings were genuine or not, or even the values of knowing these answers the films becomes a lot more interesting.
All dick sucking aside I really haven't had as much fun discussing a film with anons as I have when talking about 2049.
There's just so much to chew on.

Why would I when his disciplines think hes an auteur?

I felt like a moron thinking it, but there were moments where I kept thinking "kino" in my head when I was watching.

Particularly that transition from flickering flames to the lights of the city.

>we need a filmmaker who has literally no style&no personality but who can fool reddit neo-cinephiles into thinking he's an auteur
>sam mendes is working on bond but denis villeneuve is available, sir

This and Fury Road.

Yeah no shit, the original is campy as fuck.

Yes.

kino never died
high-budget hollywood kino maybe, but people may argue it never was here to begin with

>there were moments where I kept thinking "kino" in my head

This is like ucringeium 235

what the fuck, no

>*This and BvS
fixed

wew

Fury road was shit tho.

In some departments it's definitely better, for example the romantic subplot of K and his virtual waifu is ten times more genuinely emotionally investing and moving than the absolutely flat romance with non existent chemistry we got from Deckard and Rachel in the original.
This is pretty much a non disputable fact.

Why didn't Vankino do the soundtrack?

>Particularly that transition from flickering flames to the lights of the city.
It WAS kino. And I thought to myself all through the movie "Holy shit, I'm watching a masterpiece"

Well you haven't seen anything yet. BR2049 was good, yes, but come December The Last Jedi will hit theaters.

(it's gonna be great)

>Mfw it bombed so Sup Forums wont hate it cause its popular

Because Vangelis is now a 74 year old fuck who didn’t make anything relevant in a decade or two, besides his Rosetta album that just sounds like Vangelis didn’t do anything new since the 80s.
At best he would make a forgettable soundtrack that tries to hard to be like the original just like Williams did that for TFA.

And the point of the new one is not to recreate the original soundtrack but to make something entirely standalone that only expands on the original.

And the King of Fedoras has showed up.

Did nu-Blade Runner have an epic flaming guitar as well? Bet it was based af, and really showed atheists whose boss.

so was this

t. brainlet

That's a good point. My take on Joi was that it wasn't real love on her part, which is driven home by Joe seeing the sleazy advert for her. She was a product, made to act like her owner wanted "everything you want to hear/see". I think the real question is whether Joe's love was real, since he obviously does experience it subjectively, but he doesn't have a soul, whatever that means.

Like you said, you can talk about it for hours.

The cinematography was the worst part desu. Incredibly bland with little creativity

Yes. It also made me believe in waifus again.

you try too hard at covering up your insecurities anonymously

Debatably. I thought the original was overall more enjoyable. The new one had a lot of scenes where I just wanted it to get to the point. Of course the old one was pretty slow too but it was also about 40 minutes shorter...

The first two minutes of this

youtube.com/watch?v=WcLzUZSGT6Q

Are really good. Zimmer needed a few more weeks really to make it truly excellent. It has some good spots but composing films take long.

Is there a good quality torrent yet?

I want to appreciate this kino over time.

t. millenial

Yeah, you're right. I thought 2049 actually had a really great soundtrack.

go back

>that perfect morph of ana de armas and mackenzie davis

my benis wasn't ready

Just got out of theatre, had a firm erection at the cuckqueen / possession fetish bit, I will be entering the word kino into pornmd later.

I'm pretty fuckin tired of using the term "bland" or "sterile" like it's an argument against the film.

Ofcourse the visuals are sterile, empty and monochromatic, that's the entire point, the new one is showing the bleak empty sterile future after the blackout where nature is practically non existant that is in contrast with the dense, dirty, alive and cluttered setting of the original. The original was mostly filmed at night, this was mostly filmed in a day.
You're all acting like every movie should be filled with a vast highly colorful spectrum of colors and with as much things shoved in the frame possible, no matter what the narrative of the film is about.
It would make no sense for this film to look extremely colorful and dense, it would make no sense to fill the streets with thousands of extras, it would make no sense to make it seem "alive" when everything in it is basically dead.
Bunch of ignorant surface-level brainlets

The Vegas scenes really had an interesting palette and overall aesthetic. I like how 2049 subtly branched out from LA, and kept things in the right mood.

Mate the writing was absolute garbage in Fury Road, don't let the pretty cinematography fool you.

God what was with all the "sexual innuendo" & full on nudity throughout the entire film, did he think it wouldn't sell without sex appeal?

I took three of my hard-core "old values" family & they couldn't stomach the virtual girlfriend getting "syncing" up & sexing K

I thought it was funny as hell myself

Basically every single set in the film is practical

Nah, they just CGId the marketing material

I think that was the tipping point that K's waifu did have some independent thoughts

DUDE F# - C# PIANO OVER SYNTHS LMAO

Don't remember this shot

YOU go back

Totally agree. At first glance the actual story is deceptively simple, almost join the dots storytelling. But it is the detail and the deeper meanings which make it work, just like the original. I fucking love it.

Because it's a behind the scenes shot that is showing all the lights and props used for the actual shot that is in the film.

Glad I wasn't the only one. I kept saying in my head this is a fucking masterpiece throughout the movie. It wasn't just kino, it was cyber kino.

Best nap I had this year.

slow down there

Who cares if the niggers and bitches don't like it. Let it fail at the box office, let it lose all the money it took to make it. It doesn't matter one bit as the film is a fucking masterpiece. Normal fags and plebs don't deserve to watch this. It is not for them.

>look at I am a retard!

Hell no.

Kill yourself.

Loved the movie, my only real complaint was the ending
>extremely emotional scene of goose taking deckard to see his daughter
>goose dies on the steps, finally becoming a real human bean
>beautiful tearjerker of a scene between deckard and his daughter
>quick cut to black
>blade runner 2049 logo pops up
>lights immediately go on in theater
>people get up and leave
maybe it was just my screening but the lights coming on and people leaving really killed the mood

>this pleb is still at it with his abhorrent meme grid
A cam rip is out now
Make webms now and show me how sophomoric you really are

>the romantic subplot of K and his virtual waifu
It was some cringy shit mate.

The original had that simple and compact plot and no "the fate of humanity depends on this". I hate when all the movies have to have the highest stake possible

Is "K" a reference to Philip K Dick

>BwOooOOMM, brrrrrrrroooommm

I don't care about fucking colours, it's the framing that's atrocious. It's all repetitive wide shots or uninteresting over-the-shoulder angles. It does nothing unique to enhance the storytelling.

I fucking hate you and your kind. Please die.

Kill yourself off of Sup Forums.

>i watched my first movie that was 3 hours guys!! I'm part of the Sup Forums big dogs right??
Cute. Come back when you've seen satantango in one sitting at the cinema, , /r/movies.

We got good movie? what else to want? You need endless sequels and spinoffs?

>act like her owner wanted
Thats something interesting to think about. K's version of Joi was shaped by his thoughts/feelings/personality. He's very cold and robotic on the outside since he's a replicant, but his true character is imprinted onto her.

oh no the fedoralord again

I am now 100% convinced that you didn't even see the film.

That part was brilliant

It was such boring shit.

The theater I saw it in left the lights off until the scrolling credits started.

I don't even get how the "Fate of humanity depends on this" as Robin Wright was saying. What's the worst that could happen? Replicants "obey" now.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The effects were horrible. There wasn't a single shot that was as nice as pic. Because everything was covered in fog.

If replicants gain the ability to reproduce then you have a second renaissance situation.

"Boring" is not a valid argument, it only says what your mood was while watching the film.
Same as saying "it was fun", that does not indicate anything about the actual quality of the film whatsoever.

big if true
