Everyone in star fleet is a cunt and I hope they all die.

Why have the writers made me hate them :-(

i know

can we agree to just pretend to like it so as to not make people think we are racists

because it's 2017 and the klangs are the good guys

I know how to save the show

Tilly is holding the show together lads

fag.
only one with real powers was Q

The Thrawn of Star Trek.

>The Q remove his powers for being a manchild

meanwhile Barclay becomes more based with every episode

why does shenequa always stare off into the distance when she's talking to someone? every fucking time. and if it's not that she'll tilt and shaker her head like the person she's talking to is the dumbest mother fucker around

She's acting.

you know how i know you're a shill?

She's "acting"

Lorca is fucking great

first for STD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to see Trek go full on Dune inspiration now that they basically have a Guild Navigator

>and if it's not that she'll tilt and shaker her head like the person she's talking to is the dumbest mother fucker around
At least she's......not taking....obnoxious pauses between....each word.

I'd like to see Alejandro Jodorowsky's vision for the Star Trek universe.

The spores must flow

The klingons eat people and other klingons which is their tradition. They also drink blood because their total cannibals and hate living things which is why the spore drive hates them and emotionally it seems the spore drive has a negative reaction to klingons because they eat people which is logical.

They attach the klingons to the ship to store their food like the Predator and since space is a vacuum then later they eat the klingons, its nothing new honestly.

FEED ME MORE PEOPLE AND KLINGONS!

>matter synthesis: complete

what did it mean by that?

I dunno, 3d printer? how much do you think this cost

what was that hologram information thing? sure is lucky it was set to display the only people he knew

>sure is lucky it was displaying the Captain and First Officer

why does the captain need a device to remind her who she and her closest colleague are?

she's a fucking cunt who can't follow orders!!!!
'best officer in star fleet'??!??!?!
someone explain it to me!!
why, why, for fucks sakes why!

for not following orders and getting to work on examining said creature and determine what makes it tick, it tough hide, it's razor like claws and whatnot, she decides to observe it and try to understand it.

then when she's not producing results (i''m guessing she doesn't give hourly reports to the commander or lorca), indian hottie comes in and says enough is enough, ima do your job.
which ends up killing her.

all because soniqua can't follow orders.
fuck off std
i gave u 4 fucking episodes
u fucking failed me.

lorca is the only character i care about (everyone is a fucking cunt), but i'm betting it's already planned out that shanequa is going to do another mutiny, but this time lorca is going to written as a bad guy or eventually become one where he endangers the entire ship and crew and shananey is going to step up and take command (but this time not kill the captain) and this time all the crew will respect her.

and shananey and her ship the discovery will turn the tide and win the war against the klingons.

Are replicators ever specifically stated to be new technology in TNG? Food synthesisers were certainly a thing by then.

>why does the captain need a device to remind her who she and her closest colleague are
Because some people like keeping images of their loved ones, or people important to them. Don't be autistic.

>eventually

Do they have fuck tons of left over money for pointless CGI or something? What the fuck was the point of this scene

with career stats and bio?

>Do they have fuck tons of left over money for pointless CGI or something?
Obviously.
They didn't budget for writing.

Maybe it's a database that cycles through the ship's crew roster, and he just kept going till he found them.

what do you think of the warp drive in this

that's where it's headed
it's gonna mirror what happened with riker and the pegasus
but shananey is gonna lock him up and save the ship and the crew, and also win the war.

proving again, she's the 'BEST OFFICER IN STARFLEET'

TOS has food synthesizers. If you can synthesize food, you can synthesize any object.

It's a nice idea at least. I was surprised by the sci-fi-ness of the concept of a spore based drive

or YELLING at inappropriate TIMES!

check em

I was surprised it was based on real science.

>O-type star
>Huge as fuck
>Extremely rare, only 0.00003% of the main sequence stars are O-type
>Blueish-white color
>NOTHING LIKE THE ONE IN STD

How fucking hard can it be? If they said it was a M or K-type star, then fine, looks similar to what was shown and very common (88,55% of all main sequence stars), so it would make sense if they accidentally jumped to one.

>grow shroom farm
>plant shroom farm into supercomputer
>plot coordinates on a 2D map
>INSTANTANEOUS DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL

it's real science deal with it

yeah, this was dumb. for collision to be imminent at the size it was it would have to be the size of small moon.

>Last episode manipulates Michael into working for him by selling the idea he isn't making a weapon
>next episode out right tells her he is making a weapon

Only interesting part of this episode was the Klingons. Seriously why are they not the main focus of this series?

They're making it hard to like this show.

Too many subtitles.

because they are annoying as fuck and they talk like turks or arabs or whatever shit in middle east lives.

The shuttle flew away so he could do whatever he wanted with his temp worker. Its consistent with the theme of Starfleet officers being complete dickwads or emptyheaded dunces in this era. Also

>>"Klingons"
>>implying a fucking canabalistic pussy cuck going on a magical journey to show all Klingons the power of friendship is a fucking Klingon

>Captain, poo detected on floor outside commander’s quarters. Recommend immediate transport to the loo.

>Saru: Sir, we've successfully made a jump but... we lost inertial dampeners on the outer saucer ring. The off-duty crew in their quarters ar- they're all dead sir. The Doctor says their bodies were pulverised.

Lorca: I see, but did it look cool?

>Saru: What? I- I'm not sure I understand.

Lorca: The spinning bits, did it look cool?

>Saru: ... I suppose, if anyone was outside of the ship to view it.

Lorca: Perfect! The Klingons will think twice about messing with us if we can intimidate them.

>Saru: ... Of course, sir. Now, if you will excuse me I suppose I now have a report, and a dozen letters of condolences to write.

They killed off the only pajeet looking character, so there's no more need for a designated shitting corridor.

When did they eat other Klingons?
It's not insane that some Klingons might not fall into you preconceptions of what a Klingon on.

Hey she was kind of hot for a paki

The motto goes, Klingons take no prisoners - not Klingons eat prisoners. This is clearly not Prime Trek, so whatever.

I hate to reference this but red letter media made a good point they have done 'translations' in other Star Trek seasons. They will show Klingons speaking Klingon to Star Fleet but switch to English when only talking among each other. This is supposed to help actors be able to act without having to memorize a new language and the audience is supposed to understand that in universe they are speaking their native tongue.

I stil lfind it amusing people claim these new klingons are meant to represent the 'trump alt right' people yet the main Klingon seems pretty fucking liberal, just nationalistic. Plus at least I am interested in these new Klingons more then anything happening on Discovery at the moment.

DS9 Blood Oath
Now shut the hell up, nutrekkies.

>Hey she was kind of hot for a paki
you need to be put down, quick.

>klingon romance

eugh

>Captain Chink is a respected senior officer who writes 7 years of reports saying her XO is great.
>Her XO is also the adopted daughter of an influential Vulcan politician.
>Said XO then kicks off a war and gets thrown into jail for 6 months
>Meanwhile a Starfleet Black Ops science project is repurposed to the war effort and Captain Warhawk is put in charge.
>Captain Warhawk arranges for the XO that kicked off the war to get on his ship because he thinks 'hey not only is she an expert in science fields that relate to my project but she kicked off the war *and* has Vulcan tendencies, so I can logically and guilt-trip convince her to help me out
>He also just so happens to have her old immediate report as *his* XO, and the helmsman from her ship, and has drafted people like Cadet Autism onto his crew because he apparently can manipulate crew assignments however he wants.
>Michael then does indeed come up with the solution to the problem and a positive step in the war effort is made
>The solution to the problem is a Star Trek staple of abusing a lower lifeform that just so happens to exist in the ecosystem of their problem, with science magic, which is a good old ethical drama
>During which Michael starts her road back by making friends with Cadet Autism, getting Gay Science Man to trust her, and gelling with her old report who is now the XO.

You can see the logic in the story set up. However, it is undermined by some weird choices.

>The combination of Lorca and Michael's personalities effectively gets the Tactical Officer killed
>The ethical drama is downplayed like fuck, nobody other than Michael gives a shit, and she has no especial reason to give a shit given her actions to this point
>Lorca isn't consistent in his manipulations and seems to be on the verge of getting everyone killed (this is half actually interesting and him existing is creating all the potentially good drama in the show)
>The Michael / panicky alien XO stuff is repetitive and telegraphed

>Prime Trek

Pretty much this. If STD remains in its own universe/timeline I am fine with it. Have no issue with massive canon changes in comic books when they set it in its own universe.

She has a very hostile bitch face.

First for Bulbaspore

So the language spoken to Starfleet is native but translated on Starfleet's end, and then it's like we the audience have the universal translator.

Quotes? Thats your entire basis? Thats like saying humanity commits suicide by 'eating their hearts out' after feeling shame.

When is she going to start throwing things at him? I'm upset in general because I hoped we would avoid romances subplots, never mind that it's going to be communicated completely in Klingon.

Oh and the Kingons are a whole heap of problems by themselves, principally that we're being asked to sympathise with a leader of a cannibalistic warmongering relgious sect in a species that has all those exact same tendencies on a larger scale except more cynical, violent and untrustworthy.

This show is all over the place and the reason to watch it is, at the moment, to see how batshit insane Lorca goes. And if they want more than one series, they'll have to tone him down, thereby removing all the character drama other than 'the nameless other crewmen don't like Michael'.
Except Cadet Tits just said the crew are impressed Michael came up with the solution to the problem.
So she'll have to fuck something up or mutiny again to generate more drama. Which is repeating shit, I mean how long until the panicky gay XO and Michael fall out, oh wait, it's next episode.

What are you talking about? They only ate Georgiou, she's not Klingon so it wasn't cannibalism.

Essentially. It has been done multiple times in Star Trek because, as I said, it is difficult to act when you have to memorize a new language and act in it. It does require some suspension of disbelief on the audiences part to go 'ok though they are speaking in english I can accept they are, in universe, speaking their own language' but it is far easier then making the audience read subtitles while the actors have to speak in a different language they are not familiar with. And this is coming form someone who watched a lot of subtitled shows, it is annoying as hell to have to switch between reading subtitles and not.

>Starfleet captains would never act like this!
>Gene is spinning in his grave!

Oh come on, TOS had a bunch of crazy and less-than-exemplary Starfleet captains. STD is just set on the ship led by a guy that would ordinarily have been a villain of the week in any other show.

Exactly. Kirk was like a relentless space cowboy compared to Picard.

no he wasn't, Picard broke more regulations than Kirk ever did

>captain is unironically a section agent, a tactical genius, and a slave driver
>first officer uses his persecution complex to be a complete dickwad who tries to get people killed on away missions
>chief engineer is a selfish prick who couldn't recite the Starfleet mandate to save his life
>doctor doesn't give a fuck about dead bodies on his watch
>everyone else on the ship sans Ms. Talksalot don't really talk to each other

This Starfleet sucks

I'm sure they never meet another captain that isn't doing something underhanded.

Name three.

Kirk wins most egregious violations
Picard wins highest number of violations

>first officer uses his persecution complex to be a complete dickwad who tries to get people killed on away missions

where'd you get that from

prime directive (multiple times)
didn't respect a planet's law
temporal prime directive
starfleet dress code

Any megas links?

Picard was on record as violating the prime directive 9 times by like season 2 or something.

Regardless, Lorca is not a problem with this story the way it has been set up. He doesn't even go unquestioned, every scene with the Gay Engineer is literally them arguing.

>starfleet dress code
Oh my fucking god the madman, FIRING SQUAD NOW!!!!

>everyone else on the ship sans Ms. Talksalot don't really talk to each other

we've seen people playing dice games in the mess hall, just not any of the lead characters. there could yet be more socialising, but they'd have to slow the pace way down, which the new format won't accommodate well.

>muh quantum physics, dont have to explain shit

>real science

Why do people hate on the first two? They seemed fine to me.

You're the retard.

bbc.com/earth/story/20141111-plants-have-a-hidden-internet

This is the science fact, this is what they applied on the quantum level on the show.

do any of these have klingon subs hardcoded?

There are very few people who thought the pilots were the better episodes. I think it was a lot more Star Trek than these two abominations we've seen since.

Maxwell was right about absolutely everything.

"You're a fool, Picard. History will look at you and say, 'This man is a fool'."

youtube.com/watch?v=i41aEtE0iYs

Was this webm made with a camera, or is the scene supposed to look that shitty and washed out?

they were both right, Picard even agreed with his concerns

The jokes on him, history ignores Picard and talks all about Janeway.

>88741752
its a kelvin universe show
kelvin is really the mirror universe

No.

The mirror universe is where everyone is evil and shit. It's the mirror universe of the PRIME TIMELINE.

Then there's the KELVIN TIMELINE - not universe -, that was created by Nero's fuckery.

Timeline and universe are not the same things, they aren't arbitrarily exchangeable. You can cross universes, you can not cross timelines.

Until now.

>>activates spore drive

> this is what they applied on the quantum level on the show.

Right, which made it NOT science based you fucking imbecile. You utter fucking idiot of a person. Just add "quantum" and BOOM, science.

I want reddit to leave. I wall all redditors to die.

>no argument
>just petty insults to cover his lack of understanding
*Yawn*

Confirmed troll.

>I don't understand how these two things are related
>let's call anyone who proposed it an idiot
Sorry, this is not how it works. If you can't wrap your brain around a scientific concept, then Star Trek isn't for you.
