Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter was the man who greenlit the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
>Perlmutter's current day-to-day operations as CEO of Marvel are unknown, and he still remains as private as ever.
>The only previously-circulated circulated photographs of him is one from the 1980s, where he's dressed in a suit and brooding at the camera.
>'Disney owns Marvel, but Ike gets to control every budget and everything spent on marketing, down to the penny,' a studio insider told the Hollywood Reporter.
>While Disney declines to say how much he owns, Perlmutter is one of the top individual stockholders for the company.
>But the recluse has also created controversies for Marvel over the years - it's been said that he didn't think anyone would notice if Terrence Howard was replaced with Don Cheadle as War Machine in Iron Man 2 because the hero is African-American, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
>Additionally, comicbookmovie.com suggests that Perlmutter could be to blame for the lack of Black Widow merchandise. The character was played by Scarlett Johansson in the Avengers films and was one of the few female roles.
Do we blame him for everything Sup Forums has suffered as a result of capeshit going mainstream? Or do we praise him for breathing new life into a dying industry?
He's a reclusive Jew who hides in the shadow of Disney controlling everything.

Last I checked comic book sales were still steadily declining. At this point comic books will be a legacy product of the superhero industry.

Hi Sup Forums.
Oliver Edwards
He's also the one Butthurt over FF a d X-Men that he's tried to destroy them. And he won't stop shilling the Inhumans.
So fuck him.

Jesus christ he looks like he's head of the men in black
Grayson Miller
>because the hero is African-American Don't beat around the bush here. He said because "all blacks look alike and no one will be able to tell the difference."

He's Isreali, and the living embodiment of the cheapass Jew stereotype. See:
Alexander Rivera
>all blacks look alike >says a Jew
Benjamin Reed
>Last I checked comic book sales were still steadily declining The opposite. Comic book sales have been increasing year to year for the past decade. 2016's sales were better than 2015's which were better than 2014's which were better than etc. etc.
Instead of just believing any shitpost you see on Sup Forums, why don't you actually check these figures out yourself. It's all available on comichron and ivc2, and that's just Diamond sales and we know that digital sales and non-direct market sales have also been increasing year after year at an even higher rate than direct market sales have.
Ethan James
Hahahahahaha holy shit it's happening. Well he was able to keep the ruse up for awhile and it took them a few months but normies finally realized no company that funded Trump's campaign is "progressive."
Grayson Morris
>mfw Feige hates Perlmutter so much he had to work out a deal so he would no longer have to report to him and only to Disney bigwigs >mfw I have no face
Nathan Bailey
As if we needed more proof Trump is evil.
Justin Allen
user, Perlmutter is the Ultimate Jew. He's the physical manifestation of the Crafty Jew. For fucks sake, the man was a literal mossad assassin and spy for years. This isn't some Sup Forums shitposting about "the jews." It's some Sup Forums funposting about The Jew.
Ethan Moore
Wait, I thought Stan Lee made nothing and nobody, and lived entirely off the creations of better comic book writers?
Camden Brown
>hating on Fantastic Four user, please. Even you can't actually have taste this shit. Fuck the X-men though. Buncha whiny cunts that lot.
Noah Rivera
So ANAD works?
Josiah Richardson
Can someone give me a brief on Marvel 2000-2005? Why did Perlmutter have to come in and cut costs on everything except Stan Lee? The post mentions >smoked glass doors etched w/ spidey logo ordered at height of success How did Marvel fall so far?
Isaac Clark
I mean, we already saw the Marvel writers have a meltdown over the news of him donating to Trump's campaign.
Nathan Young
You thought wrong. The "Stan Lee stole all credit from other people" meme comes from the fact that the Marvel Method which he pioneered was: >The writer (Lee) writes a bare bones plot outline >Artist (Kirby/Ditko/Romita Sr./etc.) draws a comic based on the plot outline >Writer (Lee) writes dialogue over the artist's art
As a result, people claim that Lee gets more credit than he deserved because in many cases, particularly with Kirby who is widely considered the more imaginative and creative of the two, it was the artist that did most of the work. But it's not "Stan Lee stole from better writers" it's "artists had bigger role than Stan Lee in the comics' creation."
Jacob Carter
>Why did Perlmutter have to come in and cut costs on everything except Stan Lee? Perlmutter tried to cut Stan Lee out of Marvel entirely, but then Stan Lee out-jewed Perlmutter through some shady legal trickery which resulted in Lee actually making MORE money in the new deal than the old one. After that happened, Perlmutter realised that trying to remove him again would probably just bite him in the ass again so he just accepted it and moved on. Cutting costs everywhere else twice as hard to compensate for Lee's massive paychecks for doing fuckall.
Jaxon Johnson
>The writer (Lee) writes a bare bones plot outline PostIt notes don't count, Sheeple.
Isaiah Rogers
But doesn't Image prove that without writers, characters are up shit creek without a paddle?
Jace Smith
Stan lee never gave a fuck about comics.
David Rivera
The industry as a whole has been growing year to year. This year's sales was a smaller growth than the previous year's growth which reflects poorly on ANAD, but it's not a decline. It's just not as big of a growth as was originally projected.

Comics are a collaborative effort. You need both a good writer and a good artist. A great artist can compensate for a mediocre writer and vice-versa. Lee was a mediocre writer working with great artists, but he didn't "steal" anything and absolutely deserves credit for the creations. It's just that the popular narrative in the media is that it's like 90% Lee and 10% "artist" while in truth it was probably more 70% artist and 30% Lee.
Stan Lee didn't make Marvel what it was through his writing. He did it through being the greatest hype man the comics industry has ever seen. He was a marketing genius that knew how to shill comics better than anyone else. Kirby and Ditko were fantastic artists, sure, but they were also pretty reclusive. Espicially Ditko, but Kirby as well. They just wanted to do their work and didn't want to be in the spotlight. It was Stan Lee that was going around with his Marvel Bullpen and Excelsior!s and "Make Mine Marvel" campaigns and the like. The man knew how to make people excited for comics and make people want to buy comics. Marvel wouldn't exist today without his abilities as a salesman.
But as a writer, he relied heavily on his collaborators.
Wyatt Brown
Now that he's come out of hiding it's time for Stan to do his thing
Wyatt Gomez
>Lee was a mediocre writer working with great artists, but he didn't "steal" anything and absolutely deserves credit for the creations lol
Benjamin Foster
>Do we blame him for everything Sup Forums has suffered as a result of capeshit going mainstream?
Oh, go kill yourself; everything wrong with capeshit comics these days has nothing to do with the movies and EVERYTHING to do with the times and various hack writers inability to reflect them effectively.
The only bad thing to come out of the movieverse's success is Tony Stark getting a major, but temporary armor downgrade with a questionable explanation in-universe and Peter Quill getting a costume change, both of which were done to maintain brand synergy, but this is actually pretty rare and in some cases, actualy has an opportunity to improve some characters (Captain Marvel comes to mind.)
Kevin Cook
Basically, the United States pays an average of $25 billion to the Jews to subsidize their armaments industry so that they can defend themselves against all the sand niggers. The Jews then turn around and sell the US a bunch of weapons, including most modern Remington designs.
Parker Jackson
>synergy, but this is actually pretty rare and in some cases, actualy has an opportunity to improve some characters Man, shills are working hard this week. They must be short of money for New Year soup bowls.
Carter Fisher
Are Remingtons shit or something
Easton Rogers
Sorry, "co-credit." Mostly. There's some characters that he doesn't really deserve any credit for like Silver Surfer or the Inhumans, which were 100% Kirby, but people who pretend like he had no part in making these characters are just the opposite end of the retard spectrum from the people who believe he deserves all the credit.
Again, it's a collaborative effort. You can see the opposite problem happen in the 90s, where, say, Liefeld gets all the credit for creating Deadpool despite the fact that he was co-created with Nicieza, but the 90s were an artist-driven period at Marvel so artists got top billing and people give more credit to the artists in creations from those periods than the writers. Outside of the 90s, the opposite problem happens with writers getting more credit than artists.
Wyatt Hall
So you whites are /k/ucked.
Nicholas Williams
>There's some characters that he doesn't really deserve any credit for The whole Marvel universe, for instance.
Noah Scott
That's the thing; anybody that has ever accused someone of being antisemitic has to comprehend that jews, or at least the hardcore stereotypical ones, are some of the most racist people on the planet.
Jeremiah Nguyen
I also think Stan Lee gets lumped with Bob Kane, who absolutely took advantage/cheated his collaborators and people just sort of slip in to this "big bad man versus starving artist" narrative.
Henry Ramirez
You cannot deny that Captain Marvel has nowhere to go but up.
Levi Howard
Remington quality went right the fuck down when they were acquired by Cerberus Group back in the 90s, to the point thier famous shotgun is beaten out by a Chinese clone
Culminated for many in the R51, a 'new' spin on a classic Colt design and was set to be marginally popular but then the first batch was recalled and kept for almost a year, returned, and now they still have problems with reliability and general shittyness (a 20 cent trigger and they nixed it for a plastic peice of shit to save all of ten cents). No apology, no word on if they are even working on it and this will probably continue while they destroy a formerly great brand to make a couple dollars.
I mean, you're right on the whole subsidies to the isreali armament industry but pretty much everyone in NATO is taking from US tax payer pockets
Eli King
Oh yeah, Kane ABSOLUTELY stole credit. Lee was a salesman that, through his charisma, overshadowed his co-creators.
Kane though was just a straight up conman that literally stole credit at every turn.
Leo Ramirez
>Stan is a Bob Kane copycat This.
Jackson Cooper
Who are you quoting?
Blake Ortiz

On the one hand, yeah, what Pearlmutter did was pretty fucking cold-hearted.
On the other, the company wouldn't exist now if it wasn't for him, so it's a bit of a mixed bag.
Landon Turner

They were hit harder then anyone else during the 90s crash, and Ike had to come up with cash quick to pay off the banks that financed his takeover.

>>But the recluse has also created controversies for Marvel over the years - it's been said that he didn't think anyone would notice if Terrence Howard was replaced with Don Cheadle as War Machine in Iron Man 2 because the hero is African-American, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Isn't Remington Products the guys who make Remington shavers, not the gun manufacturer?
Andrew Garcia
This picture makes them look like shady villains.

But Cheadle didn't look as friendly as Howard.

yes. Remington shavers = Remington Products Company Remington guns = Remington Arms Company
