Jesus christ. I never believed the memes before, but I can't believe what a pedantic hack Jay Bauman is. Besides taking yet another opportunity to shit on the original Blade Runner, a film he never understood, for 30 minutes, he now offers such amazing critiques for the new film as "it would have been more better if we didnt know Harrison Ford gonna be in movie, then they suprise us yay Harrison Ford!!" How the fuck does this guy have any credibility at all when he bases his film analysis on what simple gimmicks they could have used to delight popcorn munchers for 0.5 seconds exactly once?

he has nice hair

I agree completely. The best thing about 2049 is that it separates the plebs from the pats, even just in the way they analyze the film.

Here's what I noticed after being a previous fan: roughly around 2015 it began to slide downhill.
>they stopped being edgy and extremely hostile in their reviews, refusing to call shit exactly what it was
>they stopped putting effort into the sitcom part of the show, where past episodes had them fucking around with Plinkett and doing crazy shit as they talked about the movies, they had either a 2 minute setup that immediately switched to reviewing for the rest of the episode, or just ignored the sitcom stuff completely and was just them talking from start to finish
>they stopped reviewing obviously bad movies in order to mock them, and instead settled on popular movies that would give them more clicks

>they stopped reviewing cool movies nobody had ever heard of for the same reason

and the worst part

>their analysis got weaker and weaker; where as before they would autistically pick apart techincal stuff in the movie in an interesting way, they switched to a reviewing style with nothing interesting or insightful to say about anything in the movie, just "the story was weird, I didn't like it lol", reallly obvious and boring reviewing

>they simply stopped being funny, nothing clever or amusing in their new stuff

They used to be a couple of film nerds that looked at movies on technical levels beyond plot, while participating in an absurdist plot centerted around them reviewing and drinking beer. Now they're just two dudes talking about a film with nothing really interesting to say.

I'll still watch the old episodes like the Sinister/Paranormal Activity 4 review, when their mockery knew no bounds. As of right now however the series sucks, and every time I watch it it's just boring and I don't see any fresh perspective on anything, not to mention they review mainstream clickbait movies that I have zero interest in.

>another "review" where they have absolutely nothing to say except surface level observations and trying to pass opinion off as valid critique
>"boring", a mere emotional state, a blanket statement that says nothing of the work itself, only of the mental state of the individual, attempted as valid critique, yet again
>mfw

Yes it does, by letting you know that anyone who claims to have seen this trash is a moron and anyone who claims to like it is lying.

This analysis of RLM is better than any analysis of a film they've done in years.

And yet somehow their Patreon income is going up. It's no coincidence that the anti-intellectual consumerist mentality is rising, as is the wave of high-budget spew coming out of Hollywood.

This was the first HitB I actually found to be bad, and couldn't finish it

>It's no coincidence that the anti-intellectual consumerist mentality is rising, as is the wave of high-budget spew coming out of Hollywood.
Will cosplay as Rick on Halloween?

"mummy monsters are racist" -mike from rlm, 2017

Hello psycho. Still posting?

>reddit letter media

Honestly this, I have it paused around halfway through, I don't know if I can finish it. It's just awful.

>tfw my mom loves Blade Runner
>tfw my mom is less pleb than Jay and Mike combined

And a nice ass
Jay will forever be a power bottom

jay is a tool honestly.

There's is really nothing to analyze in this film that isn't a bunch of cyberpunk tropes that have been done a 1000 times by better stories

list those 1000 times

Lost all respect for RLM when they shilled hardcore for TFA

>watching rlm for the quality of the reviews
If you're not watching it for the laughs, you're doing it wrong, and that ep was pretty funny.

Battle Angel Alita

true it is kino, now list 999 others.

being pedantic is actually pretending original BR is good and not boring whatsoever

it's all an ironic statement on film reviewing culture you just don't get it!

>specifying american
Go and masturbate to your lolicon pedoshit, you weeaboo

my mom also loves Blade Runner. in general my mom has pretty patrician taste

damn why was she so literally perfect

>not knowing the meaning of words

my mum too
hmmm... mum tier

if blade runner were a relatively unknown indie movie released recently jay would be going on about how much he loves the slow pacing. but the movie is popular and very well known so instead it is "boring". literally everything he says about blade runner and how nothing happens in it is stuff that he accuses other people of saying about shit like the witch. you can tell someone is shit when their taste is predicated on what other people think about something.

I never liked him, he always came off as having pleb taste. I remember when he said Rey was one of the best parts of TFA. I don't think he's pandering, I think he genuinely has really shit taste in films.

What are some of her essential films? Other than Possession, I've only seen The Driver.

Their release of Space Cop was the final nail in the coffin. How can you sit around tearing into films when your own effort was *that* bad.. literally every point they've ever brought up to rip other movies was on display in that turd

I believe these guys are above pleb, but buy in heavily to movies that appear smart but are really just dumbed down "smart"

Post RLMKino, slugging through old shit can be awful with this channel

Nosferatu and The Tenant of course

The fact that they weren't intending for it to be "so bad its good" and were trying to make it unironically funny is just pathetic.

Jack and Jill HITB review is the best review they ever did, nothing they've done since has come close to topping that review. Its not just a review of a shitty film but also an analysis of the business behind how these shitty films get made that's really interesting and eye opening. If you want to watch one RLM video, start with that one and then watch whatever older episodes interest you.

I don't blame them for being lazy
Their gimmick ran dry. They're getting older and probably wish they were doing more. Plus they're still staying afloat

what' with this wankery over "smartness" in films. it's the most plebiean fucking entertainment available to mankind.

>The Tenant
Oh, I've seen this. But didn't recognize her in character due to the glasses.

>If I wanted to think, I'd just watch the news
Their BvS review was so fucking stupid aswell. Clueless Marvel fanboys.

>jay "never seen james bond movies until casino royal or quantum of solace" cuckmann
>mike "i like shlock and dont like escape from new york" cucklasa

Jay was talking about ONE SCENE in the movie that dragged on with dude wasting time looking around a building when we already knew he is there to find Ford. There was no surprise as to why dude was there.

>mike "I've never seen a hitchcock film" stoklasa

>mike "I like force awakens because of references but hate rogue one because of references" cucklasa
>jay "i graduated film school but cant make a good film" cuckmann

>this salty over what is basically Sup Forums reviewing a movie

You still gave them a view and a subscription, they still got paid for their shitty "review"

>mike "jurassic world was unironically the best film of 2016" stoklasa
>jay "daisy ridley is charismatic as hell" bauman

>what is basically Sup Forums
Oh fuck off. Sup Forums destroys every new Marvel a new asshole, these fucks can't stop jerking over each new cash-grab. Sup Forums preferred Rogue 1 over The Farce Awakens aswell. These Redditor hacks are NOT Sup Forums. Unless you would think the lowliest parts of Sup Forums represents its best parts.

>mike "i liked independence day resurgence" cucklasa
>jay "I think cuckatino is a genius but nolan tries too hard" cuckman

>Still salty over Sup Forums on youtube.

>a film he never understood
Only idiots say something like this. Blade Runner isn't some 2deep4u arthouse that is overly complex. It's perfectly understandable why some would dislike such a film while still understanding what it's about. Kill yourself.

I only watched hitb for the plot. Their opinions on movies are rarely very interesting, but they've always been good comedians. Nowadays it's easy to skip their episodes unless it's a movie that MIGHT be interesting to hear them shit on- like crappy horror movies. There's no reason to care about how they think the latest capeshit is "ok" just like the last 50

Jay said that the relationship between Deckard and Rachel is the "heart of the movie" a total brainlet sentence that shows he doesn't understand the film.

Agreed, its just entertaining when they're tearing a crappy film to shreds because it gives them the most room to be funny and tell jokes, instead of a lukewarm response where its boring and uninteresting or positive response where you just want to watch the film instead.

Yeah his criticism of Deckard and Rachael's relationship is weirdly specific, the heart of the movie is Roy, anybody that's not a turbo-pleb like Jay understands that.

I unironically view the nostalgia critic as a better film critic than modern rlm.If you ignore the skits and lame humor of both sides and look at the degree of analysis put into the reviews themselves you'll find that nostogia critic(along with other long form reviewers like bennet the sage and brad jones's midnight screening) at least talks about the themes of the movies or why certain scenes are flawed from a technical point.Hitb is just a drawn out bare bones reviews.

Original blade runner wasn't anything special and it only served to dilute the message of the much more superior book it's based on.
People only chose to not focus on the flaws of the movie because it's baby's first science fiction or people that think world building is more important than story. Those are the real plebs here.

he also said it may be the greatest sequel ever made, that seems like high praise with a bit of nitpicking you autist

It really urked me how Jay made really snarky comments towards the Saw movie when on the subject of James Wan. Talking about how he was surprised by how much he liked Insidious and did not expect restraint from the guy's who made Saw. Whether or not you like the first Saw is irrelevant, but the first Saw is objectively restrained, that was the whole point of the movie, Jay sounds like such a simpleton.

>son of Eric Bauman
>surprised he's a piece of shit

What else does your mom like? I'd like some recs and she sounds like a trusted authority.

so does that mean they don't like 2001? maybe that has something to do with it.

He's right though. Harrison Ford's entire part in the new Blade Runner was forced, and obviously only put into the film so that retards like you, OP, could be like "OH LOOK I RECOGNIZE THING XD" and thus cash-in on nostalgia and the brand of the first movie.

The fact that you completely missed his point is evidence of your own lack of intelligence.

>MY NAME ERIC BACHMAN AND I A LYING FUCK!!

No it's not you ass munching cock fag.

I too am shocked people that offer basic surface level analysis on superhero movies would dislike Blade Runner

TFA is a fine movie Sup Forums just hates everything people like and likes everything people hate, like the sullen edgy emo friendless virgins that they are.
Want proof?
Do you like the prequels?

nice refutation of all his points... oh wait.

Oh look it's another salty RLM thread filled with samefags pretending they're smarter than RLM out of obvious jealousy.

Every RLM thread is filled with the same complaints over and over, and yet you continue to watch them and obsessively remember everything they've ever said. Very odd.

This analysis of Sup Forums is better than any analysis of a Sup Forums thread that's been done before.

>samefagging this hard

As a big fan of the original movie, the only opinion I want hear of is Collin from Canada

>It's perfectly understandable why some would dislike such a film while still understanding what it's about.
The point being made in this thread is that "I liked it" or "I didn't like it" has no technical basis. The pace in Blade Runner is a style choice, not a failing.
If they "found it boring" it's because they have shit taste and are garbage human beings, that's not a fault of the film.

Amerisharts of central European ancestry living in flyover country

guaranteed plebs

haha shart is so funny. europ is numba 1

>The pace in Blade Runner is a style choice, not a failing.
You're saying that as if the RLM guys are unaware. Both Mike and Jay have acknowledged this.

Yet Jay hypocritically criticizes the stylistic choices Blade Runner makes as objective failings yet immediately turns around and free passes to even less intelligent or more overrated films for doing the exact same thing. Especially if it's a horror movie with gore in it, Jay will lavish overwhelming praise on ANYTHING that features a cannibalism or body horror scene in complete avoidance of all its faults.

The sitcom shit is/was/always will be the worst part about it by far.

I've seen you post this same type of shit in RLM threads before. You always bring up Jay liking any movie with cannibalism in it. Literally what the fuck are you talking about? I think I've only ever heard him bring up cannibalism once when talking about The Gren Inferno, a movie he thought was bad.

Dude he talks about it ALL the time, where have you been?

Such as...?

Watch fucking half in the bag you shit, I'm not going to do your homework for you and cherrypick shit out for your convenience.

Thank you for confirming you're talking out of your ass and simply saying empty bullshit in order to bitch.

I just checked the review and Jay said he liked it.

why does the frog have paws

And why exactly do you care what these e-celebs think?

>do homework
You mean simply provide even one example? Surely if he does it ALL THE TIME and you're so confident about that, you could think of even one simple example off the top of your head. I'm not even asking for a link. Just lost an example. Surely you can do that if he's constantly talking about it all the time. I mean, I watch most RLM content and can't think of one example but maybe I somehow missed the endless times he's done this somehow.

The Green Inferno? He said he enjoyed it because of how bad it was.

Honestly, this show was like nothing I've ever watched. It'a absolute trash that tries so incredibly hard it's endearing. Each episode shows that the directors and writers are creatively bankrupt and yet they continue. Its stellar how such a brain dead show could enjoy such longevity.

I thank god every day that I wasn't born with a small enough number of brain cells to enjoy this content without irony. It constantly challenges the viewer in its simplicity, idiocy and lack of a commitment to a vision. It's marinated in cliche, fried in shlock and still tastes raw to any patrician.

If you enjoy this show I must respectfully ask you to reconsider your ability to subjectively assess anything. I have full faith that the type who enjoys this show is a simpleton of the highest order; a low IQ, simplistic mongoloid plebian.

I hope you find peace in death. Seek it soon.

>it would have been more better if we didnt know Harrison Ford gonna be in movie
I don't see the problem with this? Over the years we've had surprising movie cameos, I don't think anyone knew about Matt Damon having a role in Interstellar before it came out, he certainly wasn't in any of the movie promos etc.

Oh fuck off retard, he does it often enough that everyone who actually watches the show knows about it. This isn't some college debate in your safe space, I'm not obligated to hand you some carefully documented thesis for you to review, you can just go on being wrong and we can all go on knowing you're an idiot if you want you don't want to educate yourself, no skin off my back.
