Context: a character has a dream about this hobo and realizes just after recounting the dream to another character in a diner that they're presently living the dream. he steps outside to see if the hobo is there behind the garbage bins like his dream and the hobo appears, which results in the character having a heart attack.
cheesy? possibly. but take any multi-second clip out of context and you can assign it any derogatory adjective.
anyways, hope that helps. also: watch the fucking movie! it's one of Lynch's best.
