staaaaaaaaan!!!!!

What took him so long?

>106.

>Working on animation business since 1938
>Lives up to 106 years

Damn what was this guy on?

Asian Genes.

It's beautiful really, this guy got to see the evolution of animation before his very eyes

Maybe he's the guy who taught Stan Lee everything he knows.

Rice

Stan Lee just stole his master's life force.

I'm not gonna count this as a 2016. He was scheduled for 2002 and he just powered the fuck through.

Seems like the one who got away from Stan necromancy.
Maybe it doesnt work on Asians.

>106
He did his job well and lived a full life, got married, had kids, became a Disney legend, saw his grandchildren, painted murals, and flew kites that he made.
Rest in piece Tyrus Wong

He was doing a documentary a few years ago

Yes?

*burp*

Oh, Excuse me!

Stan probably got all of like 2 hours out of stealing his life force.

No user, what took him so wong?

Shit, man. I was just thinking of this guy a few weeks ago. His art is pretty damn good.

What the fuck is this doing on page 8?

...

...

Well technically speaking a career in which one sits at a desk wouldn't exactly be taxing on the muscles.
As long as you were to balance your caloric intake and eat a high ratio of vegetables to lean meat (emphasis on lean meat) and engage in moderate exercise, it kind of stands to reason that you would maybe increase your chances of living a bit more. But this is all speculation because there have been people who have lived long lives not working in animation.
I have heard that dancers (ballet, tap, jazz, ballroom) also live quite long. Dick Van Dyke is older than 95 and he can still dance. I swear he looks like he's only pushing 75

...

Dick van Dyke actually turned 91 this month, but yeah.

...

...

...

...

He was making the documentary or they where making a documentary about him?

End of dump. Rest in peace Tyrus.

106 holy shit

Here's Cartoon Brew's obit:

cartoonbrew.com/animators/tyrus-wong-bambi-production-designer-dies-106-147125.html

They just finished making a documentary about him.

Thanks for that correction.
Man, I need to take some dancing lessons

He looked pretty good for 106
If you can still walk past 100, you've lived a good life

RIP Tyrus

You picked the wong time to die.

Sticky when?

Well he lived a long time at least

rest in piece

He was born in Qing-dynasty China before immigrating to the United States. That's insane

At least he lived long enough to see Chicken Little get made. I'm sure that made his heart swell.

>You picked the wong time to die.
>wong

This guy over here!

fug
>tfw you lose a bit of living history every day

F

Rather than talking about this animator, his life, and the spectacular work he's done you guys would rather talk about Stan Lee.

Because how long till we're next?

Dubs say that whoever looked under this spoiler is next.

You aren't famous.
Your death will be nothing more than a statistic.
Your life force would satisfy him no more than a cheeto would satisfy an elephant.

Yeah, but what happens when all the celebrities are dead? At the rate he's going it wont be long.

>106

Well shit, I wish we could all be so long-lived.

>Your life force would satisfy him no more than a cheeto would satisfy an elephant.
There's no need to bring Trump into this, user.

If you're gonna make a joke at least put a little effort into it.

Really like these shadows.

Because I'm sure you knew Wong very well.

I think he thinks we have the wong ideas.

Okay guys, to be fair the guy was 106.

>106

Holy
shit

So does that make him the last living 50's Disney cartoon staff?

Is it just me, or do animators seem to live REALLY, REALLY long? I think a bunch of Walt Disney's "nine old men" are still alive and Don Bluth is alive as well.

Oh and also Bambi the greatest work of Art in film history. RIP Tyrus.

Dubs decides who's soul Stan is taking next.

Because I need to personally know an artist to appreciate his work in pastels that inspired Bambi. The art in that movie was gorgeous.

Not anymore, it doesn't.

Keep trying to cover up Stan, we all know it's you.

It's weird knowing that he was held on Angel Island from the Chinese Exclusion Act, because he was that old that the Chinese exclusion act was still a thing.

Clint Eastwood

Bendis.

True, that cheeto is going to be satisfying those elephants for a while.

Harrison Ford

Richard Adams. Oh wait.

The Nine Old Men are all dead and have been getting picked off since the 70s.

Dan Slott.

Stan.

...

>The Nine Old Men are all dead
Damn last thing I heard about them was that there were 2 left. what happened to them?

That man is the very definition of success.

No sticky?

I wanna watch Bambi now.

Samuel L. Jackson

...

They died.

Joe Quesada

>age 106 whoa... not bad.

The Celebrity Dept of Death is putting in overtime this year. :^/

Fair enough

Frank and Ollie were the last two. Frank died in 2004, and Ollie in 2008.

Queen Elizabeth II

Passing away peacefully surrounded by family after a celebrated artistic career at the ripe old age of 106 ain't a bad way to go.

Fun fact, in addition to his gorgeous paintings, he made kites, too:

Gary Reed, the founder of Caliber Comics.

Caliber Comics was an indie comic publisher in the 90s, that published books like The Crow.

Gary Reed was also a comic writer himself.

Holy fuck Dick Van Dyke is still alive?

Thank you for Oeming, Gary.

You

Yeah, he's even going reprise his character Bert in the new Mary Poppins.

Gotlib, the man who revolutionized Francobelgian comics (BD), by targeting an adult readership. Creator of Pervert Pappy and Superdupont, among others.

Sad news. Reed's Caliber Press pretty much kickstarted a lot of 90s indie comic creators.
Never read any of his own comics, to be honest.

Try Airwaves, The Hanged Man, Ship of Fools, Baker Street, and Kafka; and Mister X.

Thanks for the recommendation!

After you're done watching Bambi you could read the Bambi manga, assuming it's been translated to English.

Jack Chick too

Steve "Preacher" Dillon

I wish I could live to be 106.
