Steven Universe

What do you think it's like living on Homeworld? What are the differences of living when comparing different Gem castes?

You are either a grunt class and are built for the sole purpose of going off-world to expand the EMPPAARE, or you are a working type and do the ground job to build new colonies that will provide more Gem for the EMPPAARE, or you are an officer and command Gem, or an higher class Gem and command armies, to expand the EMPPAARE, or you are a specialised gem, wtith unique attribute that aloow you a certain degree of leasure and sometimes even a pearl, provided you do not outlive your usefuleness for the EMPPAARE.

Pearl are just a servant class who don't want dirty grunt soiling their place, also grunt are better used for warfare.

Probably like being a borg drone. You do your job, rest when needed, then go right back to your job, and nothing else ever.

Apparently Homeworld has arenas for important fighters to fight in, so it could be like in Roman amphitheaters. That would mean that Homeworld has some kind of entertainment, unless it could be interpreted in a different way.

Right now, it's like a town during the depression. Everywhere shop fronts are nailed shut. Not much happening in the street. All available personnel is off-world to look for resources and everybody else is poofed and in stasis to save energy.

>What do you think it's like living on Homeworld?

Like a lesbian orgy, but without the need to stop for food, water, or rest.

>Like a lesbian orgy, but without the need to stop for food, water, or rest.
Uh... It might actually be the opposite of that. They have strong policies of imposing asexuality on basically everyone with only masturbation being tolerated under supervision.

So it's like modern day America, then?

What dimension do you live in m8?

"Ripe for the taking. Cylas, organize an away team and begin to establish footholds for our forces."

Nahhh.

There is also the possibility gems are one of the Thirteen Tribes. One of the Thirteen Primes was Amalgamous Prime, and his descendants were 'shifters', who didn't just transform but could take any shape. The downside was, the more they changed, the more difficult it became to retain their identity.

Why would the gems save energy for that? Gems don't need maintenance like food, drink and sleep?

...But they need to find new worlds to conquer. ...The reason is unclear. As you say, they don't really need anything.

It's probably a lot like Planet Irk from Invader Zim. Everyone created to fulfill a certain purpose, conquering planets just because, not really having any sort of lifestyle only work, ruled by really tall people.

They need new planets to make new gems.

like imagine our world but just 5% more holey

its how they reproduce, they need new worlds to create new mineral life forms. Their race travels from world to world in order to have the materials to create new gems

Gems are made for a purpose and it is taboo to deviate from that purpose. They don't know any other way of living.

Gems deviate from their purpose all the time. That's why the rebellions happen, and there is a watch for undesirables.

Uhhh this episode? Yeah this is truly a bad episode. The only good thing about this is Peridot not calling Rose Quartz a clod. Also there was a scene where Garnet was about to beat up Peridot for showing them this. doesn't that scene look familiar to you?

woah now, It Could've Been Great was not a bad episode. We got the music number at the beginning showing how Peridot was starting to like the Earth, got to see her conflicting views, and it nicely set up the next episode.

I don't get what you're referring to with the Total Drama reference, the Garnet-Peridot scene has been done in a lot of different mediums/shows before, doesn't make it bad.

i have the feeling its very much like how the people in beach City live, each gem type/family does their job and as long as they fill their quota no one cares what else you do during your free time they don't really care

but if you DON'T or step out of line and do something that isn't your role there's a meltdown

Restaurants Wars really scream that this is foreshadowing on how gems normally live like

Would a gem "townie" episode be considered filler, or would it most likely be considered a lore episode?

Oh god, what if Beach City is the way it is because they've been exposed to the Crystal Gems to generations and without meaning to, the gems polocies kind of rubbed off on them?

I like to believe they keep native organics on as a lower caste, like for canon fodder and low grade technicians.

What do you mean by gem townie episode?

I doubt they would, since their society wouldn't have the infrastructure to support the organic population.

They keep their habitats full of breathable air already despite not needing to.

Steven foilowing a bunch of homeworld rubies or quartzes going through their lives or having some mundane conflict.

Yeah, but they're not growing food, and probably wouldn't have the housing for the organic population to sleep in.

I wonder if they have to use oysters to make pearls, and if there are other gems made from the use of organic beings, like amber or kidney stones.

I'm not sure if they could go through a whole episode like that without touching at least some lore elements. Like they'd have to actively avoid it.

I don't know
we could have learn more about them ,but we get shipper drama

It's a caste system. It sucks. hits the nail on the head.

Lore because its how gem culture works
If anything it would be Steven takes some Homeworld gems (lets say YD sets up a base and season 5 is about patching up the relations between the CG and Homeworld, I'm guessing a new Quartz, Yellow Pearl and eyeball) and they interact with the townies and end up getting along (like both groups hate the CG)

It wouldn't be shocking they end CG effected human culture like that, in a way of Irony, Rose wanted Gems to be like humans but made the Humans end up being like Gems
