Just watched the trailer. It was so uninspiring. I felt nothing. It looks like a CGI Disney clusterfuck. I like how their "practical effects" meme lasted the first 20 minutes of TFA and then they gave up.

Do you think if a Disney Exec sees a trend of threads like these on social media they start polishing a gun to shoot the subordinate that came up with the idea that has the potential to reduce the value of their expensive IP potentially to semi-meme status? Do they threaten them? What happens to the guy that accidentally makes Jar Jar 2.0?

They probably give him a promotion. They specifically bought star wars to whore it out. They have no particular affinity towards it and they almost certainly have a dedicated meme department churning out lowest denominator shit by the hour on the hour.

You might be on to something. I think right now they're in pure "strike while the iron is hot" mode. They will wring as much revenue out of it as they can with no regard to the longevity of the series because 10 years from now, they can just hype up a "different kind of Star Wars" that draws all the disillusioned people back in just like the prequels. In the mean time, it's a game of pumping out Porgs.

I think the Porgs really say something about the quality of the movie, giving the fact they are the one thing people and normies are screaming about rather than the actual content which seems like it's going to be entirely forgettable no matter what EPIC PLOT TWIST Disney throw at us.
