Mr. Robot

Just watched the season premier and what did I think of it?

i don't think this show has much of a future.
>Season 1 was pretty good other than the homosex
>Season 2 was a big nothing
>Season 3 is post Trump related meltdown for the writers, so expect /STD/ klingon level stupidity.

They literally made an episode about wanting to reverse time and put everything back to what it was

you didn't really like it but you're going to keep watching it because you liked the previous seasons

i like the idea of parallel universes or time travel, but i just cringed when i saw that trump shit

the trump shit was over the top but i like the direction the first episode is heading in. if they start exploring some more heady/scifi themes this could be legit kino.

i feel like the drumpf scene was a one off to appease critics. it wont happen again.

>They literally made an episode about wanting to reverse time and put everything back to what it was
There were strong hints last season that some sci-fi fuckery was going on under the surface. Honestly I'm glad they just came out full force in the first episode more or less confirming it instead of dancing around for half a season.

So is whiterose making a time machine?

>whole 2 seasons complaining about a shit corporate world led by Obama and faceless corps
>pulls out Trump is evil card
I don't know. Most liberal burgercucks will go nuts on this shit and every episode it airs goes more and more into Mr. Normie territory.
I did like Elliot's monologue a bit, was meta enough to make fun on how they packaged "Revolution", "Anti" movements and other stupid shit into this show showing exactly what is going on at the moment on the show.
I guess nothing could be worse than most of season 2 that was a snore fest.
Let the threads of hate and people saying this was shit since day 1, but kept watching and rewatching this, begin
One thing... if they go parallel universe or time travel, I'm out. Doesn't make any sense and on actual sci fi shows it's already an easy way out for lazy ass faggot writers that should be flipping burgers instead of ruining shit for the rest of us.

I cant believe the time travel theory might actually be right. I was hoping for something more like 'this is the matrix and we're hacking our way out of it' than time travel.

season1
>a major character isn't real because our protagonist doesn't realize he isn't real
season 2
>half of the season isn't real because our protagonist is lying to us but tyrell is very real
season 3
>what's actually "real" isn't actually real because all of reality can be changed

I loved the first two seasons. I'm keeping an open mind as to where this goes and my fingers crossed that it doesn't go full blown LOST season 4.

I just hope they will not push for some retarded sci-fi SHOCING TWEEST with the 4th wall. I like how elliot talks to audience, but in the S3 premier it was on the edge of stupid.

I have a bad feeling that they will fuck this up by some real-life bullshit.

LOST season 4 was great though.

Are you talking about that whole rant he goes on? That shit was straight out of season 1. It felt off because he hasn't done that in a while.

I'm also fearful that they're going to drag political faggotry into this season. I'm hoping that shit in episode 1 was just a nod and then it's going to be business as usual.

Can anyone remind me or summarize what happened in season 2 so I can watch 3? I don't remember anything that happened other than the prison twist.

It wasn't the same, it's about the style it's done. This time it was more forced. The first rant criticized human nature, but the second was very specifically aimed at viewer and aimed at specific political events in US.

Also it was very annoying how he switched from "in head" talk to out loud talk.

Instead talking to himself, he is talking to you.

Elliot was in prison and did all that stuff, then tried to track down Mr Robot and Tyrell, followed some clues, ended up shot because he was trying to stop stage 2.

Blondie sold out to Evil Corp and almost gave herself up to the FBI when Dark Army got ahold of her and now she's doing their thing.

Sister was leading la revolution from that lawyer's house. I think she killed the lawyer? Somebody killed the lawyer. Then her bf got got by a chinese and the FBI sunk their clutches into her.

FBI lady faps to the sound of her Siri bot thing, got to know the trannie running things, got shot at but plot armor protected her, then rounded up sister.

Mrs Tyrell was trying to find her bisexual husband and getting crank calls from the dude whose wife Tyrell killed. That went nowhere but was decently mysterious for a while.

Tyrell sat around fapping to lolis in some warehouse drawing pictures of him and Elliot running away together to Sweden.

i think more something along the lines of maybe traveling to a different dimension since they talked about parallel dimensions in this ep

>mr robot is gearing up to go full blown scifikino

i can't fucking wait

>More heady sci Fi stuff
Yes I can't wait to see what other plot points they can steal from better source material. We already got the fight club I-am-you thing, maybe this season they'll rip off event horizon and we'll learn his computer is the entrance to hell. Fuck outta here pleb

Nigger if this show pulls an event horizon plot out of its ass it will become my favorite show of all time.

The show takes itself too seriously and has gotten further and further away from its core premise, the death of many shows. Also for all you time travel/alternate dimension fags:
>hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/mr-robot-season-3-sci-fi-potential-1047879
>"I can neither confirm nor deny, because I don't want to say anything that's too spoilery," he says. "But I will say we try to be as rooted and grounded with the real world as possible. Even though we're in an alternate timeline, we still see a lot of parallels, given the fucked up nature of the world that parallel story is in to our real world. We think it's important to keep that credibility to the world we know. I'll leave it at that. I'll say this: In the real world, we do have a lot of people with wealth and power who have some lofty designs on the nature of reality and how technology can manipulate that reality. It's in that realm that I think we keep the show in."
Basicly they will be trying to look for something that does not exist

relax man this isnt some pinnacle of television its a fun little rollercoaster of a drama. im just here for the ride

Reminder that Whiterose can hack time.

>season 3 finale
>elliot successfully defeated evil e-corp man and Chinese trap man
>"I have completed my part in revolution..."
>turns towards the viewer
>"... what about you?"

can't wait

So the HTIC has a particle accelerator from the looks of it. And there's vague talk of time travel. I'm trying to figure out what collapsing an economy has to do with those things. And if they reset time, is it just to when the main characters were kids? What will that solve in the grand scheme of things?

Chinese trap man is against evil e-corp man though.

I think it's gonna end up with things back to the way they were before, with our protagonists having learned that the status quo is still better than chaos.

I think they're talking about travelling to a parallel universe where none of the bad stuff ever happened.

Season 2 had some stuff about that as well, with Project Berenstain being the most obvious.

Why would the trap man need the specific NPP and E-corp destruction then? I'm pretty sure china can build their own particle accelerator.

So I'm not the only one who noticed inconsistency in the opening flashbacks? Or am I just not paying attention?

why americans have to make everything about trump?

are there no other issues americans can think about?

I'm wondering though how that turns into a satisfying conclusion. If they change time, or jump to some utopian parallel universe, and the characters just end up at square one with everything in the world still fucked as it ever was with no changes other than undoing everything that's happened over the series, it's a glorified "it was all a dream". I trust this show not to pull one of those on us.

A whole lot of nothing happened. Season 2 can be summed up as references to what they pulled off in season 1, and the "where's Tyrell" game. There's a reason you're asking to be reminded

The guy is literally guiding new employees around, telling them about Quantum Parallel Universes, while they are taking notes, and this is taking place in a fucking Quantum Tunneling Device that shifts from one reality to another, masquerading as a nuclear power plant.

Did you not see the fucking opening?

Some of you people need a lobotomy, I swear.

ew.com/tv/2017/10/11/mr-robot-trump-time-travel-season-3/

There's not gonna be actual time travel. I suspect we'll see Eliot have some big hallucination of living in an alternate universe where's his parents are still alive and stuff.

you're a fucking idiot if you think they're actually going full sci fi with the parallel universe shit.

fuck off

>entirety of season 2 was about showing how bone-headed a psuedo-anarchist view of the world is and that these people are generally useful idiots for some sort of greater scheme with more powerful interests behind it
>season 3 is now playing the juvenile politics straight, undoing the purpose of season 2's inversion of season 1's "babby's first politics" thing

Into le garbage

>I think she killed the lawyer? Somebody killed the lawyer

yeh she knew she had a pacemaker so she tazzed her ass. lady died immediately and fell into the pool

Elliot literally admits he's at fault for everything that's happened.

Mr. Robot is like LOST, best enjoyed as its being aired because the mystery is part of the enjoyment. I'm curious if this will hold up when it's over and it gets a rewatch.

also:

Trenton and Mobley with new identities in Arizona, possibly trying to reverse the hack by generating the key or whatever necessary to decrypt ecorp data. Leon finds them.

FBI knew about fsociety the entire time. They have it all figured out. S3 spoiler: Darlene is most likely bugged and working for them now

I hope this is the last season but I can see it getting drawn out a la house of cards

Time travel shit is a red herring, I don't know how anyone could think otherwise.
The shows kind of nuts, sporadic and spontaneous with the twists, but c'mon.

couldn't get into LOST but i know a lot of people hated it for being a big nothing too

inb4 its a "evilcorp wants to insert everyone into a utopian matrix computer sim"

The whole time she was questioning Elliot I was thinking she's probably mic'd up. The questions were very leading. We're gonna have a Fredo moment with her, wouldn't be surprised if they made Ang the one to do her in given what they've built her up to be and how they're making her look like a diehard devotee of "the cause".

creator said 4-5 seasons

I think 5 seasons are planned.
But it actually is planned - Esmail knows where he wants to take the show. Presuming he doesn't change his mind about something.

Bingo. And I think she was calling domin the bathroom of the haxor club.

I may have missed something but what's Elliot's goal in joining ecorp? He closed the backdoor. Is he going to try to generate the key from the inside? Think Trenton and Mobley will help him out? Or did Leon get them

Is it going to be a Bernstein universe thing

We'd better. I swear to god if this isn't another Elliott the Unreliable Narrator fake-out I'm going to be pissed.

If time travel is out the window, matrix sim is the only other thing I can think of at the moment. Life sucks, so everyone gets to "go back to when things were good", which probably means virtually instead of in reality. If that's the case, it fits more with the show than time travel.

[Laughs] The problem with time travel — I’ve always said in the writers’ room that whenever you introduce time travel, it’s game over. Then all of the rules go out the window. Throwing out time travel in the middle of a series run is a little late.

Good find user

>Quantum Tunneling Device
it looked more like a large hadron collider until it got to the liquid, which is more suited to a nuclear reactor.

note that the large hadron collider recreates the conditions of a big bang.

>Leon asked trenton and mobley if they had the time at the end of season 2

what did he mean by this?

most likely. they still have a femtocell installed.

Mr Robot re-reverses the backdoor closure so I guess he needs to shut things down physically.

i dunno how elliot's blonde sweetie can be
both very ugly and attractive at the same time?

calling it now book mark this shit

mr.robot isn't a multiple personality the twist will be its ether him or his father from another dimension

they said "are our consciousness linked to our counter parts in other dimension" and that is what the whole project is about, hell white rose even said his dad also worked on the project before he died

angela talked about starting over and a whole new word, so you get to pick witch universe/detention you want to go live in

She was looking top tier in the kiss scene.

shut up angela is perfect

>very ugly

Presumably Whiterose sent him to kill them because they were trying to reverse 5/9

Maybe he's an an AI brain assisting enhancement inserted via minimally invasive surgery that went Skynet and takes on the appearance of his father to make subjugation over him easier.

Or maybe he's just crazy and everything in this show is a red herring because all these theories are super retarded and if E-snail seriously goes with any of them I'm dropping this crap.

>they still have a femtocell installed.

This is what Angela installed right? I forget what it does

She'd make a good goth

>takes on the appearance of his father

They've shown multiple times (most recently s3 premiere) that when we see mr robot characters in that world still see Elliot

if it's not time travel, then it's either quantum states/parallel universes, virtual reality, or AI simulation.

anything's possible really. they can make that big machine do anything.

OFFICIAL Sup Forums WAIFU RANKING:

Joanna>Darlene>angela>dom

I meant takes on the appearance of his father to him.
Sort of like your own personal AI assistant only you can see.
Also it was in jest, that would be super stupid plot twist.

I like the parallel universe thing. Mr Robot is a personality bled from another universe and living in Eliot. Whitr Rose is the chinese guys sister from another universe living inside him. Both travelers are helping to build some kind of connection btwn universes. Its either that or AI utopia and a couple of schizos.

>people in this thread unironically believe that Mr. Robot will turn into a sci-fi show during the third season

yeah. I don't remember what the chain of events was last season but a femtocell is basically a hacked modem with custom firmware with flaws that the hacker can use to infiltrate the system.

Mmm ok pardon the autism

That being said I do really like the scenes where we see Elliot when he's being Mr. Robot. Like in the cafe when he's beating himself up

For me it's very different
Angela>Joanna>Darlene>Shayla
Dom consumes porn so she's disqualified.

yes, yes, very good

but what about Shayla?

Darlene > allahuackbar-fu > Dom > Joanna

sorrynotsorry

This

save me

>about a shit corporate world led by Obama

At what point was it actually about Obama's leadership though? Please refer to a similar rant/montage to the one in last night's episode.

I liked the parallel with Mr Roboto's speech at the end of S1.

S1's message was about faceless politicians doing nothing about an increasing corporate world calling for a revoloution while S3's message seemed to say that trying to start a revoloution will cause more hate and politicans like drumpf to get in office.

My only problem is that it's now dated the entire series and will become completely irrelevant in 4 years time.

>Dom > hajib > Darlene > Literally who?

Joanna > Shayla > Angela > Dom > Whiterose > Darlene

OP here
you're 100% correct

I hear what youre saying but the show literally dated itself. Its events take place during a specied range of dates.

>Whiterose

yfw the big machine brings back dinosaurs

>ranking a blacked character first

>Shayla
I still miss her. Why isn't she in more stuff?

Shit list desu
Whiterose>Shama>Ron

If they actually do a time travel thing, I will find and murder Sam Esmail.

I forgot, disqualified too.
Joanna>Darlene>Shayla

She has a kind of weird face

I mean I like it but I can understand how it would put people off

Angela is literally EXACTLY the kind of girl I like to see get anally devastated by a giant black penis, like EXACTLY.

I'm probably going to just let all of the episodes come out and then see if I can force myself to watch it.

Unless I get really bored and cave I might keep watching them just for the threads/shitposts but I'm not very into this season based off of what I've seen.

The pacing is really damn slow and I was unimpressed and underwhelmed by the second season... and this episode just left a bad taste in my mouth. Felt like nothing happened except a bunch of shitty sci-fi foreshadowing to the time travel thing / parallel dimensions everyone is talking about.

First season was kino though. One good thing I can say about this episode is that I really liked the camera work. That was some kino cinematography and the new character Irving is interesting.

She wanted to get better and she was so happy when she had her job and Elliot :(
youtube.com/watch?v=9-GJQ-t45Mk

Messages can still be applied everywhere though but if you base that around a certain popular trend/figure then it'll die out.

Similar to Bill Clinton jokes from 90's movies/tv shows.

I like him way more than the new character we got last season. I'm not sure about the new season, but I loved the last two so much that I'm along for the ride.

Why the fuck would anyone want to see that, like ever or anything resembling it?

I like Mr Robot more than Elliot. Slater really brings the charismatic mastermind.

>"As I was saying, if I close my eyes, I can imagine that everything we experience - everything we think, see, and do - is unfolding simultaneously in a parallel universe. And if so, how many copies of ourselves exist? And might our mental states be conjoined - for better, or worse?"

>scene ends from behind Elliot's eyes

BRAVO EMAIL

I'll take Dom then.

DiPierro was definitely a qt 3.14, but I'm biased. I have a thing for red heads.
