I am having trouble finding a shot of it but I swear in the comics at least there is a shot of the reality of things through Julie's eyes where you see that the look of the Maxx was just a bucket that became his head in her mind.

The Maxx was way better than it had any right to be. I was blown away when I got around to watching it. Even the animation...

This was right when they started re-running Aeon Flux and Beavis and Butthead around 2004...good memories
