Dredd is parody of capeshit and 70's vigilante/tough cop action movies. Dredd is anti-hero as character, quite literally villain in many of the stories.
Stallone Dredd was standard Stallone movie that shat on source material. It was fucking abomination. There are three kinds of Judge Dredd stories. First type is one where city itself or random city dweller is main character, victim of his/her circumstance and Dredd is faceless face of justice or in most of times abortion of justice. In second kind of story there is some silly new meme going on in Megacity, Dredd can be the point of view character, but just as often it is random junior Judge. Third kind of story is some sort of epic struggle where Dredd is pretty straight hero. Stallone movie tried turn three epic stories into one and failed at that miserably, while basically fucking over dozens of supporting characters from the comic, basically none of them was even close to who they were in comics.

So what? I do it because they're like me. They see the world for what it really is. When I utter that phrase to a fellow fan, it's with the understanding that we're both in this thing together. We can both understand things at a deeper level.
People make jokes about how Rick and Morty fans pretend to be more intelligent, but it's true. We are. And because of this show, this masterpiece, us like minded intellectuals can interact and communicate without having to acknowledge those lesser people.
Yeah, I'll eat szechuan sauce off the ground. Because that's what Rick would have done, and I think of myself as a Rick, as any intelligent fan would.
