The other thing that I loved about Pete & Pete is that it's just about kids being kids in the strange world of suburbia. Flash forward to modern Nick shows and they all seem to be about impossibly good looking teens living in L.A. trying to get famous or whatever. Also no other show I can think of captured the feeling of being a kid during the summer better than Pete & Pete.

Do they even make shows about normal kids doing relatively normal things anymore? Seems like kids shows in general have turned into just wish fulfillment. Like you don't want to see characters that are like you, you want to see characters you wish you could be because they're living in the white house, on a cruise ship, or being a girl living in an all-boy school that looks like a surf shack for some reason.

My fave ep was when Pete got a song stuck in his head and it slowly faded away.
Before the internet, listening to radio, I'd hear a badass song and go "wtf was that?!" and be stuck on that station for weeks until I'd be able to hear it again for the artist/song name.
