What does Sup Forums think of Jim Hensons's Dinosaurs?
>Dinosaurs is an American family sitcom comedy television series that was originally broadcast on ABC from April 26, 1991 to July 20, 1994. The show, about a family of anthropomorphic dinosaurs (portrayed by puppets), was produced by Michael Jacobs Productions and Jim Henson Productions in association with Walt Disney Television and distributed by Buena Vista International, Inc.The characters were designed by Henson team member Kirk Thatcher.
I guess count as puppets. I used to watch it a lot as a kid, I was a sucker for anything dinosaur.
Don't remember much, but iirc the kids were annoying, especially the baby.
Jason Gomez
Fun show, but damn man. That ending.
Luis Gray
Ditto. Looking back it was very much the Flintstones of the 90's and not just because of the setting.
Xavier Brown
The baby is the same voice actor/puppeteer of elmo
Easton Sullivan
I rewatched some Flintstones recently, was better than I expected.
Ayden Martinez
A lot of people nowadays forget that Flintstones started out as a primetime sitcom that just happened to be animated.
Kayden Smith
I'M DA BABY GOTTA LOVE ME
Camden Price
I'M DA BABY, GOTTA- Well, shit, there goes the one thing I remember about that show other than the fact the ending was fucking dark literally, because the Dad Dinosaur accidentally blocked out the fucking sun by causing a volcanic winter
Kayden Kelly
EL NENE ESTA BIEN
Chase Anderson
I think a lot of people also forget the Flintstones aren't the Jetsons.
Leo Russell
Great series. They slipped some very mature content under the radar. And packed it good and understandable in a nice child friendly, more or less, wrapping.
>kids were annoying They were your typical kids character. And the baby was funny but if too random annoying. It got that Urkel-effect.
Eli Harris
"Hey, mama, are you rocking me back and forth so I'll fall asl--zzzzzzz." "I don't believe you." "I don't blame you."
Brandon Hill
Yes, too many feelings.
Anthony Powell
like the solo mating dance episode?
Alexander Martinez
My favorite was the anti-drug episode and its epilogue. >We had a lot of fun tonight, but there's nothing funny about public service moral episodes on television. They bring down the flow and can ruin the tone. I mean, this is, what, our second season and we're already doing one of these. So please, stop using drugs so we can stop making these special programs.
Joshua Cooper
Yeah, it was cold.
Lincoln Ortiz
Chill, Carlos.
Jaxon Hernandez
Well in their defense. Sometimes it's both.
Connor Gutierrez
Yes or the 2 leg vs 4leg war. Or the extinction of the delicious mammals. Or the steroid episode.
Leo Martinez
Dat Robbie Thornoids episode doe
Aiden Martin
Yo Started like an "get muscle nerd" ad than changed into hulk origin story.
Tyler Smith
Monica's long lewd neck fucked my shit up, sempai.
Jayden Sanders
>That episode about religion >That episode about immigrants >That episode about drugs >That episode about sex >That episode about commercials
Kill yourself, Boco, you disgusting fuck. How can someone be stupid enough to be on this site for such a relatively long amount of time and still not get how annoying it is that tripfags exist?
Benjamin Johnson
I wanted to fuck the sister.
The baby was TERRIFYING, though!
Anthony Powell
The ending was dark, surprised they had the balls to end things that way
This. Why the hell doesn't anybody talk about this show?
Kayden Flores
I was more into the brother. Feisty.
Michael Martinez
i can't believe there were anti pot/steroids episodes, but no weight gain episode.
Levi Diaz
From a technological standpoint, it would have been difficult to do.
Most likely thing they could have done was the "big belly" approach.
Asher Watson
????
Landon Martinez
Ah, te referis al pibe?

Mason Edwards
You're sexually attracted to the dinosaur, aren't you?
Jacob Hill
yes.
Levi Morales
Well he is buff and he has that right mix of cute & handsome.
Liam Walker
This episode is one of the things that did things to my young self.
Bentley Gray
He's a dinosaur I could share a soda with.....and other things.
Connor White
4th wall breaking. That is glorious.
Jacob Peterson
>people think they're puppets They're animatronic costumes, you dongs. They look like a nightmare to wear. youtube.com/watch?v=R2k5RvUnMTc
Bentley Edwards
Let's not forget the happy plant.

It was the late 80s and early 90s, user. Picture it. It was a frightening and confusing time. The Reds were gone. The eighties were going. The identity of pop culture was shifting. What would be the zeitgeist? What would serve as the template for a new decade and a new world? A cultural icon?
Along came some yellow people, who were hired to animate The Simpsons, and that was it.
It led to stuff like this being greenlit. But more stuff like this was greenlit. More and more. And then it was buried. Buried below trash, andignored in favour of the Simpsons and other good things that were not like The Simpsons.
...I mean stuff like Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and BTAS, obviously, not the music of 90-95, or the fashion. Christ alive, not the music and fashion.
Also, it may just be a coincidence, but this show was probably flagged for cancellation about April 1994, when Kurt Cobain shot himself....
I could see him the subject of a "Stay healthy. Don't overeat." episode, complete with big belly.
Ethan Johnson
I watched an episode the other day. At it's core it's a parody of American sitcoms of the 90s but with dinosaurs but it was also witty when it wanted to be, emotional when it wanted to be, and absurd when it needed to be. I'm glad they ended it and didn't keep it going for years and years. Because like most American sitcoms it was parodying it start to become a caricature of it's self and get very one note with the humor.
William Harris
Sounds vaguely like a Sup Forums MASH, especially with the downer ending.
Nicholas Ward
My oh my, you seem to be a bit perturbed.
Kevin Reyes
Maybe they'd repurpose a spare Earl body or something.
Michael Jenkins
As a kid when it aired I watched it every week as I did with basically everything on TGIF and I loved it. Bu that's less because I understood the show and more because like a lot of kids I liked dinosaurs and puppets. Rewatching it more recently it's actually a rather well written show although I think calling it a family sitcom is a bit of a stretch because watching it as a kid it tackled a lot of material that I straight up would have no understanding of. I mean it was basically the simpsons with puppet dinosaurs.
Isaac Moore
Notice how the two older kids are not the same type of dinosaur as either Fran or Earl.
Earl got cucked. At least twice.
Brandon Davis
The thumbnail on this fucking kills me
David Edwards

Easton Jackson
scared me as a kid, still slightly uneasy today. but i haven't watched in a long time
Evan Reyes
>but the dialogue is unquestionably for adults >they look like puppets, I'm not watching Patrician vs Normie
Ryan Morris
NOT THE MAMA
Anthony Thompson
that's alright, WGW wrote a 41 PAGE LONG fapfic about that subject.
>And the baby was funny but if too random annoying. It got that Urkel-effect. And they made fun of that, too. On multiple occasions, as I recall.

Artsy reply - Puppeteering is a form of animation, in the same vein as claymation. You are giving life to an inanimate object, a physical prop, for the purpose of conveying a message. Yes it is a stretch, but puppets kind of walk that line between animation and live action.
Logical reply - where the fuck else on this site would you post about puppet shows?

Art requires some level of suffering to bring great beauty into the world.

Sup Forums, but i don't even want my worst enemy to visit that place
Josiah Fisher
I'll admit, that's a fair point.
Ethan Ward
The one of the left looks like Boss Nass. Is it meant to be him before he grew up to lead the Gungans?
Sebastian Miller
I went into Sup Forums for a moment and suddenly... You know what, guys, all these Steven Universe threads and the endless DC-Marvel bickering... It's not really all that bad.
I mean, people are just having a good time.
I have stared into the abyss and I have no fucking clue if it was staring back because the eyes were derpy as shit, all thirty of them.
Seriously, it had one on its shoulder, like it was William Birkin or something
Anthony Thompson
Esta bien Esta bien el nene El nene esta bien
Colton Sanchez
I'm pretty sure Sup Forums is accepted for puppet-related threads.
I cannot emphasize enough that baneposting is probably the worst thing to ever happen to Sup Forums.
baneposting itself was fun for about a month but the fundamental shift in Sup Forums poster demographics and content that followed due to baneposting spreading to Sup Forums and such caused a chain reaction it never recovered from.
Sup Forums used to have a lot more film than television content, people actually wanted to watch good things, to discuss good movies, now it's just all stupid retards from Sup Forums and Sup Forums wanking over dumb capeshit crap and EVERYBODY is trying to make the "next" baneposting all the time.
Ayden Myers
How could you NOT be? Robbie was a dreamboat.
Luis Gray
Who isn't
Oliver Rogers
Actually he did. Well, kinda. There was an episode where his mother turned him into a tv child star, and she had a nightmare of what he would grow up to be if she kept forcing him to be a child star.
The adult Baby was just one of the few extra Dinosaur costumes they had on hand. I'm sure the real baby would have looked much different if he would have been allowed to grow up.
Wyatt Torres
>character described as an apatosaur is a two-legger who can fit inside a building >pants
Hudson Martin
Actually one of the last babies is still on display. Sadly hes turning to dust thanks to the lights in the display room.
Thomas Price
It looks like he took up smoking after the finale and never stopped.
Jace Hall
>This girl character How can he not know Monica by name? The sexual Harris episode is one of the best.
Daniel Carter
The four vs two legged status did not seem to follow species as we know them in real life. Richfield was a bipedal carnivore despite being based on a quadrupedal herbivore dinosaur, for instance.
Robert Long
It's strange re-watching it as an adult and you see all the hidden adult themes in the show's stories that you never noticed as kid. >Charlene upset she's not growing a tail. Boobs >Doing the Mating Dance uncontrollably Masturbation >2 legged dinosaurs ban 4 legged ones Racism >Meat eating family finds out their son likes vegetables instead. Gay
Cooper Jones
This is going right in to my reaction image folder. Thank you.
James Hill
Science marches on, though. It's likely that Triceratops were a bit omnivorous, along with some other ceratopsians.
Gabriel Bailey
you don't think i've already got this saved?
but either way thanks for the reminder
James Wilson
what sexual harris meant, with howard handupme
Jack Turner
furries are capable of some great things, terrible yes, but great.
Sebastian Cruz
Funny thing is, Sup Forums has been behind several surges of certain characters in furry porn. >Sup Forums finds an obscure/old animal cartoon character >makes threads about it/them >attracts the attention of certain drawfags >the drawfags draw pics >the pics are spread around the net/the artist post the pics they drew on fa/tumblr/da/etc >other artist notice the drawings and want to draw the character(s) too >it continues to spread
Connor Cook
don't forget we accidentally made bronies
Jace Wood
...shut up, Boco, and fuck you for making me remember.
HE DINDU NUFFIN.
...I don't know what I'd do in his situation.
Tyler Stewart
Is there a mega, or some other direct download for the show for a faggot like me that cannot torrent?
