Since a video game was able to profit and succeed by using old style type of animation to style it's game as a main factor, will we ever see a small studio do the same and recreate the old 1930s cartoons in a film?

Sure. Hell I am sure Disney has thought about it. They have shown they're older clips now and make some with the same rubber hose animation. That was Disney's bread and butter back then but then again they're all jew-y and shit now so probably not

No because good animation is boring to make and take a lot of time and money. You can't do that anymore with the average patience of mankind being at its lowest due to everyone being a screen junkie.

Yes it'll happen sometime. Right now is 80s revitalization so that's currently the hot topic. Maybe next year or two more they'll start looking into that.

Maybe a studio like Laika would try something like it. No big studio would. That shit takes a lot of time and money.

Nope. Kids hate that look

you are a fucking retard, fuck off to reddit and play your shit game

The current Mickey Mouse cartoons are done in a style that's heavily influenced by the old style animation, but it's not exactly done in that style. I don't know, someone might do it, but it's just cheaper to do Flash animations nowadays.

???

sounds like someone's mad

Cuphead really is like the classic platformers. It looks good, has great sound direction, maintains an excellent balance of challenge and reward, and you'll never play it again after you finish it because it's boring as hell.

Diversity hire detected.

t. boomer

>t. numale cuck
enjoy raising jamal's offspring.

I'd love to see a new Roger Rabbit.

I miss the old-school Boomerang channel.

I miss rubber hose animation

The audience that loves nostalgia (especially nostalgia they don't even personally have but know of) also has the attention span that suits a medium of reflex tests and pattern recognition better than actually watching a film.

They want instant gratification painted with nostalgia, not just nostalgia.

It's boring because the gameplay offers very few progress margin. You have to learn the patterns and play perfectly to beat the game. There isn't much more to do after that.

Humanity won't do any great achievement now everyone check his phone every minute.

The 80s games had a simple "Congratulations you've finished the game. Why not try again?" screen. But why the hell would you when you've done everything and beaten every boss?

>there isn't much to do after beating the game
play another game. not all video games are designed as time sinks for NEET to offer "MAXIMUM VALUE". go play some f2p grindfest if you want endless things to do.

Good games let the average player beat them and offer progression margin for players who want to beat them faster, by never losing, by taking advantages of all the gameplay options like running faster or using a special move. But like good animation it takes lot of time to make games like that.

i want more movies like Mulan, Hercules, Alladin, Tarzan and The Lion King :(

You can't do that anymore because it might not be profitable, and if the phrase "might not be profitable" is involved, then Disney is out.

No thanks I'll play Dark Souls, the sacred cow you can't criticize :)

>kikes in control of Disney so Jewy that their giant hooknoses obscured their beedy kike eyes from seeing this opportunity in front of them so a couple indie whites invoked the spirit of the anti-semite Walt and profited massively
Why do kikes suck the life out of everything?

>g-guys I insulted something that's popular even though I've never played it and have heard nothing but good things about it, do I fit in?? SHADILAY amirite kek!!!
You're actually worse than Reddit

What is the Dark Souls of Sup Forums?

Hey Dark Souls (I assume you're talking about THE Dark Souls) is one of my favourite games of all time, go for it. Any people online anymore? Some of my fondest memories were helping newbies with the sunbros, it saddens me to think that I could no longer do that if I wanted.

desu they borrowed more from fleischer than walt specifically

Only if they do EVERYTHING the old way

Not a valid comparison. You're comparing a single player game to an online audience dwindling over time.

Dexter: Initially it's incredible and nothing like anything else you've ever seen and a lot of people don't have the stomach for it. The farther into it you progress and get used to what it does, the less it retains its appeal and the end is just disappointing.

The plane scene.

go away game journo

Dark Souls was pretty great the whole way through though, lost izalith was mechanically boring but it was surreal enough to distract you from it.

It stayed interesting but nowhere near what it was at the start.

If you aren't following some guide and progressing in "ideal order" it's much less apparent. You're likely to end up in the forst, valley of drakes, painted world etc. after you've cleared lost izalith.

Also there's oolacile. It's not disappointing towards the end.

>Ub Iwerks invents it
>Disney takes the credit

Was Walt realted to Stan Lee by the way?

I've seen that video before, but had to see it again. God I wish I lived in the 50s.

I agree. Nioh, The Last Guardian, Horizon Zero Dawn and Persona 5 are so garbage for being single player only. They offer zero margin progression.

>hours of work for one second of animation
Yeah nah, I'm not a fucking autist. I'd rather let a computer doing it while I check my phone.

>60€ titles
Go back to Sup Forums if you enjoy your strawman arguments so much.
Cuphead is a simple tightly knit experience. It's not designed as something to have multiple playthroughs, and that's not a requirement for video games. It's not about being a single player game, I simply pointed out that your shit comparison of a game WITH replay value dying because of age killing the online userbase is not comparable to a campaign that isn't designed to have replay value.

You sound salty af. Did you even finish it? Feels nice that every once in a while a game like Cuphead still comes along to put you console babbies in your place.

All smart businessmen take other people's ideas and expand on them. Creating something from the ground up isn't profitable. Stealing someone's idea and expanding upon it? Very profitable.

I never said that. Just pointed out Cuphead was boring quickly and I prefer playing games that actually give you emotions like Horizon Zero Dawn. But if PC gamers prefer games for children then good for them.

Cuphead looks, sounds and feels great, but it is definitely not one for replay value - unless you have some slight autism and want to complete everything a second time (e.g speedrunners)

>talks about "progress margins" (whatever the fuck that means)
>now it's about muh emotions
You're gonna need a new set of tires after backpedaling that hard.

how about instead you do an entire kinograph in 8-bit graphics

Not even the same guy you moron
Also
>price and budget of a game making its quality

You have to go back to Sup Forums

>cropped porn in eye reflections

sauce me you faggot

That's not old style it looks exactly like "The Loud House"

>>price and budget of a game making its quality
You got the wrong man, guy. I never talked about price or budget.

But the only one who talked about Horizon Zero Dawn or called it boring also talked about "progress margins". Can you highlight your own posts so I know where you are coming from?

>animation will never be this imaginative or interesting to look at again
youtube.com/watch?v=VNttqN1wUMY&t=135s

>now we're stuck with generic ugly noodle-limbs shit like Rick and Morty
feels bad man

i really enjoyed cuphead
it was difficult enough to offer a challenge but not in an unfair way
nice game
