I'm interested in the Hellraiser series, but I heard most of the movies ain't worth shit.
Starting with the first, where should I stop?

Watch 1 and 2, don't bother with the rest.

2nd

rewatching all the universal monster films this spookfest, all sequels included and even the hammer horror series with Cushing and Lee

but can we agree that this new fuckfest called "The Dark Universe" is a complete disgrace to the golden age of horror? I watched The Mummy (2017) last night and i wanted to stick screw drivers in my eyes

Full feature when?

What's your favourite? Mine is between Creature or Bride of Frankenstein, but I haven't seen the latter in years so I can't say for sure. I'll have to rewatch them (as well as the first Frankenstein)

SUPTV lineup tonight

little shop of horrors
sleepy hollow
sleepaway camp
dolls
some are you afraid of the dark episodes

Up to 4, probably just 1-3, but 1 is an absolute classic.

What's the best streaming site? Paid is fine I like 70s-80s horror and 20s-50s dramas.

I'll quickly wrap them up.

>1
Classic. Worth your time.
>2
Maybe not as good, but it's pretty close.
>3
I like it. Most don't, though. It's really unlike the first two.
>4
If you like the look of 3, you'll like this one, too.
>Inferno
This is where the series stopped becoming Hellraiser. Dimension would insert Pinhead into unrelated horror scripts to keep the Hellraiser franchise. Is it good? I guess. It's not Hellraiser, though.
>Hellseeker
Pretty much the same as Inferno. Except I have a problem with this fucking movie because it has the balls to advertise it as a return to form with Kirsty. It is not. Otherwise, you may enjoy it if you like Silent Hill and Jacob's Ladder.
>Deader
This is a piece of shit. Interesting concept not executed well at all.
>Hellworld
I don't mind this one. Don't get me wrong, it's a piece of shit, but it has a certain appeal. I think it's the first since 4 where the script was actually written to be Hellraiser. Does that mean it's good? No, but it's something.
>Revelations
No reason to watch this ever.

What have you guys watched so far this month? Bonus points for letterboxd screenshot.

>one of the first characters who dies in the movie
>gets killed offscreen
>still gets an appearance in the game

Good for her.

What are the essential elements of a good slasher?

way too many to count, here are ones that i watched for the first time

the love witch
street trash
galaxy of horrors
the stuff
the monster squad
the company of wolves
cold moon
blacula

Is the game worth playing?

horror waifu?

Currently watching pic related

It's like she completely disappeared after this movie

we're not gonna talk about judy

This chick. She was great in Mikey (1992).

It used to be, gets a little repetitive after awhile. Not a problem if you never played it.
I love the attention to detail, some of the locations were reproduced exactly like in the movies.
Here's Tommy Jarvis' room.

Clear, distinctive characters
Clever or interesting kills, practical effects a plus
Consistent killer behavior - no killing people that don't make sense just to up the body count, or taking actions that seem nonsensical
Good score

Mine would have to be Bride or The Wolfman, Abbott and Costello Meets Frankenstein is in the running as well!

I remember watching this movie with my dad as a kid and loving it (also, the first nude scene I ever saw came from this movie, and what a scene it was), but I rarely see it being mentioned here.
Anyone familiar with it?

The people who made this game deserve a trophy, this si how games should be made, by true fans and people who love the source material plus it helps greatly that the people who made this game worked ON the source material too

...

too bad its not a good game

>Bride or The Wolfman
Are you sure this is the title?

I'm watching Nightmare on Elm Street 2 for the first time and I think it is turning me gay?

>whore general

shouldn't porn be in a nsfw board?

This should be a thing to satisfy the tranny audiences

Those movies are a fetish factory.
A friend of mine developed a quicksand fetish after watching the 4th.
Dude was already weird before that but damn.

Yeah that's what it does.

>tfw fapped to the girl turning into a roach
>tfw I have no face

this is a solid af list my guy

Bride as in (Bride of Frankenstein) or The wolfman, two different films

watched it last night, such good gay fun

Thanks for that. I went maybe 2 days without having that song stuck in my head.

TER-ROR VI-SION

havent watched much. trying to get around to watching some italian movies.

Okay, I'm retarded. I thought its Bride of the Wolfman.

I prefer 1, 2, and 4. 3 does loosely follow 2, but the tone is more like a Nightmare on Elm St. movie, and everything feels cheaper. Everything after 4, best to get drunk first.

just saw Rear Window

still good

What are the best 80s horror songs? I personally like
>I don't wanna be buried
>In a Pet
>SEMETARY

Nah its shit

>italian movies
Argento's are essentials
Suspiria
Tenebre
Phenomena
all should be enough to introduce you
plus watch the film From Beyond, there are some good fun practical effects in that one, you can tell that artists literally mad these films they're effects are so masterful and specifically color oriented

it's Creature for me, and that's why I'm very excited to see Del Toro's Totally Not Revenge of the Creature

not a bad idea, but they sort of did that already with She-wolf of London in 1946

Anything Goblin wrote for Argento or Carpenter's themes are god tier.

Phantasm had a good theme

JOWDAY

>not even 10 minutes in
>very young looking chick taking a shower
>her twelve year brother joins her while she stands butt naked in front of him for an uncomfortably long period of time

We're off to a great start.
Oh, the 80's.

Assume the position dirtbag

didnt the director of that rape kids? or am i thinking about another 80s clown movie.

>Parents

fucking nice, I never see anyone talk about Parents

Fright Night all the way. Phantasm theme is excellent too.

Yeah it's a list of all the recommendations I've gotten from my friends this past year and haven't gotten around to until now.

First heard about it when I saw the Vestron blu ray at a store and I liked the 50s look. Very crazy and fun movie.

It is a good game. You just have to remember that it is a strategy game and not a pure survival game when you play it. It seems that people who hate the game either suck dicks at working as a team, or they hide in a closet somewhere until Jason finds them and murders the fuck out of them.

Songs? Man Behind the Mask and Dream Warriors are classics.

You're a rare breed, my on friend is such a bigoted fuck he wont watch any classics i recommend him unless he himself already discovered it

One of my all-time favorites. The funhouse setting is so damn creepy.

This was Tobe Hooper, so I don't think so...?

Watched all these since mid-late September

hell yeah Alice Cooper is the definitive horror movie rock artist, he truly loves the genre if you have seen him in concert or just listened to his music you can tell

ok wait yeah. im thinking of clownhouse.

I noticed your list doesn't have Night of the Creeps on it.

fucking hate that movie. DUDE LOOK PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME LAST NAMES AS HORROR DIRECTORS LMAO. US HORROR FANS AMIRITE??? plus its not funny.

>Parents

fucking nice, I never see anyone talk about Parents

>witness awful murders of family
>fragile mind
>punished mercilessly by nuns
>mind is broken
>pushed about at work
>tipping point
>cockblocked and forced into a costume of his legit fear
>snaps

Felt sorry for the lead character. His back story is interesting and well developed.

i plan on watching
anthropophagus
bay of blood
new york ripper
blood and black lace
zombi 2
i dont really like artsy fartsy horror movies. too high brow for me.

Thrill me.

They decided to make the new movies into action flicks, rather than horror. Absolutely baffling decision imo.

First heard about it when I saw the Vestron blu ray at a store and I liked the 50s look. Very crazy and fun movie.

>tfw comfy tails from the crypt

Goblin and Argento are great, but I think I prefer Fulci and Fabio Frizzi.

some of the others were cool

Watched The Haunting (1963) earlier today. It's not bad, but not great either. I'm a bit disappointed with it.

I saw Psycho (1960) a couple days ago, and that movie is fucking fantastic. I was surprised how well it holds up. It blows away a lot of modern slasher flicks.

About to start We Are Still Here on Netflix. Not sure what to expect. Hopefully turns out good.

Gore
Boobs

Psycho II is pretty good as well, though obviously it's not the trendsetter that the original was. But after that the series goes to shit.

I was really surprised by how good it was.

>gratuitous nudity
>creative and graphic kills
>likeable villain
>likeable protag

"pretty good" is about the best review The Haunting (1963) deserves

>tfw your mom was a big fan of it so you ended up taking her to see The Haunting (1999) when it came out

learned that lesson

>that scene where norman grabs the knife by the blade

>WATCHAN

I'm meeting up with some friends closer to halloween to watch some tobe hooper and romero stuff and play some AH over a weekend, really looking forward to it. Thanka for reading my blog.

Wow you are just immersed in horror stuff. Is this a year round lifestyle thing or just an October/Halloween thing?

I admire your dedication

What monster is best and why is it the thing?

>1 is good
>2 is good
>everything past 2 is garbage

>Friday the 13th, up to part 4 now

Ahah, no way, me too.
Getting ready to watch New Beginning and Jason Lives tonight.

>Resident Evil 0

Elizabeth Berridge in Funhouse and Meg Tilly in Psycho II

Preservation is pretty good so far.

I liked You're Next. It was cheesy a bit. I like how all the characters were completely unaware of
how bad ass the main girl would be.
anybody see this yet?
