Ultimate Universe

So aside from Fant4stic and black people, what's the legacy of the Ultimate Universe?

Just more evidence that capeshit writers need the shackles of continuity and status quo to keep themselves in line otherwise things will go off the rails eventually.

Proof that Bendis can actually write consistently good books, but is too lazy to do so most of the time.

Evidence that Marvel writers will completely pass up and forget about set-ups to interesting story lines for the shock value of character deaths and/or diverse legacy characters.

Getting decimated by Galactus after 616 has undergone so much power creep he's not relevant there.

that if given free reigns and making his own continuity a writer can craft a fantastic world, but it will eventually be ruined by others

Spidercest. Rule 34 comic based on Ultimate Peter hanging out with Spiderwoman.

Really funny that it wasn't Bendis who ruined something he created but other writers.

Ultimatum set a new standard for how awful an event can be.

That was until Civil War 2 set the standard higher.

Not really. CW2 was shit, but Ultimatum was on a new whole level that killed the entire line.

Please civil war 2 is bad but ultimatum is like a whole other level

This is recency bias talking

newfag

Maker
Thor's hammer
Whatever Ewing's setting up in Ultimates as shown in the flashforward teaser

>it's a newfag who tries to fit in gets gangraped by bunch of old niggers episode

>diverse legacy characters
literally just one

When given a universe that started out with a vision, Marvel fucks it up so badly that they kill it off.

Best version of a Peter Parker clone and best version of Spider-woman in one character!

Is she gone forever?

Yep! Dead as dicks!

>A universe where Miles is Peter's adopted son while Mayday is the biological daughter and sister to Miles

I'd be okay with this t b h.

>A universe where Miles is dead while Mayday is the biological daughter
fix'd that for you.

>A universe where Miles is the unsure new kid being mocked by a Chad-esque Mayday.

>a universe when Miles never was created
Fix'd.

No, it's more neck-to-neck with it because they were bad in different ways.

Civil War II is bad in the sense that it's Bendis' worst event and has his worst excesses. The pacing is awful as fuck, the "war" starts in the fifth issue, and things are crammed in as a teaser for other things rather than naturally (Riri's appearance, Ulysses' future visions near the end)

Ultimatum is bad in the sense that Loeb decided to do what he thinks Millar is popular for and making it worse and far more unbearable to read than any Millar book. Well, except maybe the Unfunnies. Look at the moments in Millar's comics where Hulk is implied to be a cannibal. It's usually spoken in dialogue or he's eating an alien but you don't outright see it. Ultimatum had Blob in the middle of eating Wasp right on screen.

Both have the same problem in that the internal story logic doesn't make sense (Tony gets angry at Carol because he warned her... about something he actually didn't warn her about; Magneto conveniently forgets his magnetic powers long enough to get his arm cut off by Valkyrie.... then finally uses his powers on that sword).
