Goodnight /Discovery/. See y'all tomorrow

Don't be jealous because Star Trek, a show that is reknown for having awoken the sexuality of teenagers around the globe for decades has literally not got a single fappable girl in in now.

gotta say that is pretty comfy looking seeing it in thread!

Until then we will bicker and feud as only we can :D

its a sad day when the closest was the daft punk girl. anyone got that screenshot of the character name and bio?

>STD is dogshit, your waifus suck and Orville is superior which is why it will be cancelled first.
STD is supposed to be cancelled it was originally only scheduled for ONE season, the others if they get made are supposed to be diff settings, maybe same crew but we dont know.

God forbid they keep michael around that would really irk people since simply too unlikable of a character.

I was angry at first. That faded. Episode 4 broke me and now I just don't care anymore.

This show fucking sucks.

>Seth MacFarlane fans

"Tilly is caught in her panties episode" when?

implying TNG didnt literally have on screen troi and beverly flexing their cameltoes :P

silly user is silly

much as I love her there is not enough CGI in the world to make that bearable.

>Star-Thikk
kek

I thought the last episode of /STD/ was by far the best. I've hated the show so far except for small bits here and there, but this episode was the most like a regular Trek episode. It was stand-alone, had an A and a B story, and each story revealed more about the characters and even dealt with some ethical issues.

Sure, it's no TNG, but if the rest of the series is as good as the most recent episode I'll revise my rating upwards from 3/10.

thats the prob were only getting to know the characters now for me at least, it makes it difficult to move past the main for the same reason, i think they maybe shoulda stuck to one or the other, this mixed bag just doesnt flow right to me.

Is this a 10 in STD?

she is going viral like an STD user.

what say you?

>CGI
Don't need any to generate DAT ASS

I agree entirely. The first two episodes should have been introducing us to all of the characters in their natural environment, then we see how their lives are destroyed by the change from scientific exploration to warfare.

This would have made us much more interested in the characters' trials that we've seen so far, which have been totally stupid and uninteresting because we don't care about any of them. Additionally, we would simply have heard about Michael's actions in starting the war, paving the way for a rewarding flashback episode later in the series.

Is it like in prison when people become gay because there is no better option?
That spotty fat ginger 3/10 at best is all you have to fap to and so she becomes hot?
Remember when Star Trek babes were actually babes who would do magazine shoots for boys to put on their walls?

I DON'T WANT TO FUCKING DIE

>trek fans

the absolute state!

3 mb of ass!

sweet jeebus how much ass were you planning to load into that file!

Thoughts on these semen demons?

>Fat everything
That's not really "an ass". It's more like one giant orb of animate flesh.

>The first two episodes should have been introducing us to all of the characters in their natural environment
The whole sitch got screwed at CBS with the pilot being 2 parts and then supposedly another pilot that was the real intro after that, it messed up everything. It should have been 10 eps of condensed solid stuff, now its spread out which may be why so many characters are now treated as just plot devices.

What is this image based on? Ratings? Critics? Response from fans?

There is no way that it works

>That spotty fat ginger 3/10 at best is all you have to fap to and so she becomes hot?
why you give no love for Daft Punk girl? she could be alive. imagine those layouts.

>Thingken of watching the new /Ш*Д5/ episode
>Remember that Michael exists
>Lose interest

I don't really buy that making it shorter would have improved it when the main problem is that it rushed us into the action without taking the time to introduce us to the characters.

Damn I miss 26 episode seasons.

def not liking the way so far the gay couple thing is being played out, it feels rushed which is forced instead of organic.

Really feels like they missed an opportunity since none of it happens until half way through to use building their characters to the relationship teach us about them as characters because all we really know is HEY THEIR GAY and in every other situation their behavior is so wild due to fitting the main character to make them look good there is no character building.

They cut down on michael substantially. I'm not sure what it means.

From what we know their both gay I think. Only saw their first interview and they kind of hint at it but in a very coy way saying they love working together on set. This was prior to the shows airing so havent been able to find much about the righty guy and him talking say about his direct role since many of the interviews were recorded prior to airing and i think they were still maybe trying to keep a lid on things?

>What is this image based on?
probably response from fans, while STD has had mixed reactions as we all know, Orville due to maybe its optimistic setting seems to have a more wide appeal? or maybe that is just why it brings more people together?

It doesnt mean STD is bad but it does mean and the creators say this that STD is not for everyone and its not your fathers trek.

For fuck's sake no wonder, you need one lines in the show to understand one picture.

>I don't really buy that making it shorter would have improved it
we will never know since ya know they fired Fuller over his red line in the sand but the format is a proven method for storytelling.

no way their doing 26 eps on PPV or without their own license at least since their using the paramount license through JJ's studio hence Kurtzman one of JJ's studio heads to lead production on STD.

But this is complete horseshit. No one likes Orville outside of Sup Forums contrarians.

Trek fans have issues with STD but it's being embraced more with every episode. The first few weeks of Orville everyone just talked about how shit it is and now no one talks about it at all.

>For fuck's sake no wonder, you need one lines in the show to understand one picture.
good point, this one has words on it. This def shows how all trek fans felt weather they liked the show or not.

>No one likes Orville outside of Sup Forums contrarians.
surely you jest kind sir if you think a couple hundred of people on /t/ in the orville threads constitute the millions tuning into the show.

>Trek fans have issues with STD but it's being embraced more with every episode.
its behind a paywall, weather they like it or not many are upset by this.

I find it hard to say because this is really the first episode we've seen the doctor for more than a few seconds and even then it wasn't for very long. So I guess I'm agreeing that it's rushed, but it's not the gay relationship that's the problem, it's literally everything. Everything is rushed.

Why does that mean they can't do the 26 episode season? I figured it was just because they sold out and tried to make another edgy 13 episode Netflix streaming show instead, and because full-length seasons only exist for sitcoms now.

Mudd's character would've worked better if we didn't learn his name til at least the end of the episode. Here it's just like "oh yeah we know what this guy's deal is and that he survives the series". it's alread pretty pointless to have him in Discovery other than for nostalgia pandering but at least try to make it interesting.

>Trek fans have issues with STD but it's being embraced more with every episode.

What?

Agree. I also feel like Mudd's character and role in this episode was too traditional Trek, and didn't really fit with the whole edgy grimdark rapeslave thing they have going with this series.

>Mudd's character would've worked better if we didn't learn his name til at least the end of the episode.

Oh fuck off. LE EPIN NAME REVEAL is the hackiest of the hack and Hollywood writers are finally past it. It needs to never come back.

>Everything is rushed.
awkward rollout as mentioned didnt help and that sucks. as much as we hate prequels we may need some kind of prequel at the end as backwards retarded as that sounds to maybe fill in the crews characters?

Where the fuck did you come from. It's a common joke. He's with Trekky girly, he obviously likes her, orville grilly comes around he googles her. The fuck is there to understand. He'd like to fuck both.

Only thing left to explain is that they're both awfull in the bed.

Currently watching the new episode.

All I can think is "why are the characters so unrealistic?"

Literally, everyone talks like a robot, then suddenly a 21st century aphorism, then more robo-talk, also, everyone is still a dick, everyone keeps bitching at one another.

"Tardigrade is dying because of the spore drive"

"this is your fault burnham it was your idea".

"eliminate the diversion"

It's like - what the fuck? What is wrong with people, who the fuck would want to live in this universe? We could never have survived like this, people are not like this. I've literally (aside from ginger autismo) heard a single joke, or heard someone laugh in this show ONCE, in five episodes, not so much as a guffaw.

the suicide rate must be high in the 23rd century.

>Why does that mean they can't do the 26 episode season?
ucz its on PPV so no commercial money. maybe that is it as far as netflix is concerned since they did pay for this season totally since CBS has vowed to not spend one dime on trek and so far have lived up to that.

No.
Trek fans would guess who he was in his first scene, he talks like old Mudd, he's a bullshit artist and he's got rings all over his fingers. Saving it to the end would just be to cocktease them and make them feel smart.
People who don't know who he is would just think it was a hacky moment.
Giving his name and having him yell it at the end pleases both as it is exactly what he used to do, shows his character and makes him memorable for the newbies.

i dont get his point and he didnt feel anything like han solo i gotta say, did anyone feel like he was han solo?

...

Would you say it was FUCKING what the fuck ?

yea but its fun and trek has always been a campy a little bit of a cliche kind of show that bad is what made the show so good to many fans.

That's not the way prequels work. They fill in story details, not character ones unless there is a backstory begging to be told. So far, only Lorca's previous crew seems to fit the bill there and that story wouldn't include anyone else.

This sounds confusing. Netflix paid for the season which is airing on CBS? Why? And why is JJ's company involved when it's Paramount IP?

>Literally, everyone talks like a robot
as many said in the thread the show is rushed, maybe they literally just got their lines from the writing room going scene by scene and are spitting them out as fast as possible and carefully to do it in one take? knowing JJ's studio that handles it they probably thought they could fix all that pacing in post but again rushed so no time.

So it sounds like a bunch of beta explorers and autismo scientists trying to adapt to a strictly enforced military command structure and not handling it well?

What's with studios casting ugly/Imperfect fuckers now
I thought TV/Film where things to escape the horrors of reality.

in real life michael would be the last thing she would leave anything too...

They almost have a really good trek show here. They set it during the wrong time, and everything revolving around Michael is horrible writing.

That said, all the Lorcan/Saru stuff this week was great. When Michael was off in her own subplot, everything else came together really well

>These mental gymnastics
FUCKING wew.

Netflix basically paid a big chunk of cash to CBS up front for a new Star Trek series. The show made a profit before it entered production.

The rights to Star Trek are split between Paramount owning the films and CBS owning the television shows.

You're damn right it's FUCKING wew user.

>Being this buttblasted over not having qts in his show
Enjoy your gender neutral abominations or as you call "IT" Michael

what's that she's drinking

>the computer talks like a robot

what did he mean by this

>They fill in story details, not character ones
Agreed there, maybe i meant i wouldnt mind it? because normally i hate prequel but cant think of another term to use.

>Netflix paid for the season which is airing on CBS? Why? And why is JJ's company involved when it's Paramount IP?
CBS just wants dat money is why and other reasons that are best left off the boards. In other news though JJ's studio is used to extend the license they already had from Paramount hence why the tribble appears in the movies and the show since that trademark was acquired and those have to be gotten separately but as a package last the term of the license it seems. Again why well thats because reasons... sucks to say but thats all that can be said atm.

Now that's std.

as if STD threads are all thicc waifu bait

Ah thank you for this. But what does Netflix get out of this if the show airs originally on CBS? Or are they assuming that no one will watch it on CBS but for some reason months after original release people will want to get Netflix subs to watch it?

even worse it seems is that Michael has been serving for 7 years yet goes around mutinying and attacking senior officers.

On top of that on several occasions other crew call Michael the greatest officer in the federation. For what? who knows they never say.. is it because she got her whole crew killed, a ship destroyed, attacked her senior officer... its never explained they just say it to her like were supposed to believe it.

Dude they are so fucking gay its amazing they aren't just ramming pozz loads up each others rancid, completely prolapsed anuses in every scene.

THEY CAN'T HIDE THEIR FAGGOT POWERLEVEL

The CBS streaming service is a US and Canada thing only. Its on Netflix for about another 100 countries.

>But what does Netflix get out of this if the show airs originally on CBS?
only the pilot was "on air" the rest of the series in the US is behind a CBS paywall. What netflix specifically wanted was worldwide distribution and those funds payed for the entire season. Really boring stuff I know to read but thats how it went down. Id kill to read that contract between you and me because id like to use it to my advantage... heh-heh-heeeeeeeh

to me thats why it came off completely un natural like some cheap porn movie where a pizza guy arrives then the music kicks in and its sex time. lack of buildup makes it so awful and cliche.

I don't like the subtly faggoty way they talk

canada has 2 stations, space tv or something and some other odd station.

Is this show set in 2250?
Because doesn't the Enterprise launch in the early 2250s?
Are we gonna see some Discovery-style version of her at the end?

>I don't like the subtly faggoty way they talk
??? their gay and in real life gay at least the white guy is im still unsure on the black guy if he is really gay or not.

Why is this allowed?

you mean government controlled tax payer funded station?

But doesn't Netflix care hugely more about US/CA than the rest of the world? It seems like they've really fucked it, paying for a series they can't air in the most lucrative area.

BAZINGA

>Is this show set in 2250?
known timeline using uniforms as an example to show passage of time accurate to the known canon.

i am not sure on the canada thing do you know what the 2 stations are?

back when I could VPN netflix it seemed like other countries had a wider selection.

the thing that you can tell right away they're a couple of fruity fruit punch homos is what's bothering me, ot maybe I think I can tell now that I know they're gay, bottom line: why not lesbians

>2255
Thanks.
So the Enterprise is out there with Pike and Spock on it right now.
Well.

>But doesn't Netflix care hugely more about US/CA than the rest of the world? It seems like they've really fucked it, paying for a series they can't air in the most lucrative area.
that is probably only temp, then they can later. Im not sure of the later details but I do believe their available online, I will look into it even if not online its not a big deal to keep secret since it wouldnt affect either company from a financial perspective meaning no SEC violation, because of course there could be minor impact but unless its significant its no biggie.

Now I know what you mean.

They literally swore in Star Trek just for the sake of it. This didn't even call for it..they just said "swear fatty, swear".

This show is literal dogshit.

>So the Enterprise is out there with Pike and Spock on it right now.
That is correct user. Here is a timeline showing the technological continuity as you noted. I only made these 2 mockups but they are kinda helpful I hope.

At least you'll get one of your wishes in the episode, keep watching.

Pike was listed as one of the most decorated captains in this episode alongside the guy from the Doomsday machine ep of TOS
