:/

this is the best scene scene mostly cause a friend is dying off to the side

Annie's cut is visible on this page.

:/

Kat, those had better be medical supplies you're carrying off to Smitty.

yeah, I get that she needs to get the murderghost out of here, but Tom is playing her as really fucking blase about one of her few friends literally dying meters away.

I'm not sure if her being a giant autist is intentional

it's cause smitty is only wounded. he'll get better.

>Romantic scene of long lost lover reunited and riding off into the ether...

>...on a motorised inflatable dinghy.

Antimony is pure class.

That she's playing it so cool makes me think Smitty's gonna be okay and she knows it.

D-definitely

Seriously. It's kinda weirding me out.

I don't know what to think about this scene.

As others in this thread have noted, it feels really weird in the context of Smitty bleeding out within footsteps of the proceedings.

>oh shit you just stabbed my friend, oh well here's a boat for you!

they're dildos for parley

she's gonna need them for a while

Pretty sure she's just holding it together so she can do her duty. When she took Mort, Kat commented that she was really impressed at how well Annie was holding it together, but as soon as Mort was gone for sure she lost her shit. The same thing is probably happening here. She's keeping her mask on while she has to.

Yes, because she's an autist. :)

A Professional Autist.

someone explain to me the specifics of that arrow again

No.
We literally know nothing about it.

Guiding dead spirits is her job

Reminder that if Jeanne had hit any of Smitty's vitals, he'd be coughing blood and bleeding a hell of a lot more by this point.

Smitty's lucky again. Calm down.

Like some sort of spirit vanquisher.
You could say she's a ghost buster.

Yeah but that would be super cheap, and would rob us of the consequences of these stupid kids meddling with literal Eldritch forces.

Tom already faked us out with Blue "ducking." Would he really do it again?

Yes.
He would.

Smitty already has his teleporting girlfriend taking care of him along with her other friends. There's not much she could do to help there.

Meanwhile, she has two violent ghosts to take care of before they cause any more injury.

That's not the point.
The point is that her reaction isn't normal.
She's a weirdo.
A freak.

meanwhile

Killing off characters is the cheat tactic, friend.

Smitty's going to hurt for a while and we don't know what effect Jeanne leaving will have on the security of the Court. Like some have said, she could be the only thing stopping Forest critters invading.

I want to hinge read this, but I'm not sure if I should given how long this series has been going and the fact that I'm not too fond of lesbos. Should I take the plunge or is it a pass?

Oh okay, so you're just doing the 'Annie is terrible' meme. I get it.

His luck had to run out sometime.

Do it, you'll probably like it. And don't worry, the lesbian thing really isn't front and center for most of the story, and wasn't even a thing until relatively recently. Though the artstyle is quite different at the start of the comic.

It glows green!

Depends what you mean by "not too fond". It's mostly one of the MCs coming to terms with it but it doesn't overtake the main plots, so you should be fine.

read the more stand-alone chapters first, such as Sky Watcher gunnerkrigg.com/?p=633

>skipping content

DON'T

Do we know anything about Smitty's wires?

Well, it's easy to assume how they work.
He literally holds the strings of fate in his hands.
He's able to change destiny.

>a shrine

So there's more on Diego down there?

Quick tell me how his strings will protect him from dying

That reminds mes.
How will the robots react?

They might or might not.
Knowing Tom, they probably will, in a very mundane, obvious way, like 'blade missed all his vital stuff'.

It's the case holding the arrow.

If he doesn't die then Tom has wimped out, plain and simple. Tom could have made this much easier by killing Blue.

The point of all this is that someone should bear an unhealable wound, a permanent marker, from this mess. Jeanne is a thing that should not be trifled with lightly. She should be dangerous to approach and dangerous to mess with. Nobody should get out of this unscathed.

If nobody dies, then somebody should lose something, something that they cannot get back. There must be a permanent, meaningful change, something that makes all the difference going forward.

That's quite a fetish you have there

They already did by making Jeanne's miss his heart and lungs. See Other than that, I'm not sure. Blood clogs in all the right spots to stop him bleeding?

>The point of all this is that someone should bear an unhealable wound, a permanent marker, from this mess.
Like if Smitty lives, but doesn't have luck powers anymore because she cut all his strings at the source.

If Smit doesn't die then I will draw gross gunnerkrigg all year, grosser than usual.
So at least someone will lose their purity.

seems like it traps spirits within a mortal body, even if the body is dead

Which means Parley's teleportation becomes random again.

Or the blade missed organs but hit his spine, paralysing him from the chest down.

>everybody lives
>Parley teleports them back home
>Blue materializes inside a wall and dies
Tom, you've done it again.

Their only witness, Robot, was killed by her. So unless he's thankful for her teaching him about pain, badly.

or he is a marionette of something

You mean puppeteer?

Although it looks as if Jeanne & elf-boy WEREN'T 'properly' dead but suspended in some sort of limbo between life & death and Annie's broken them out of that. (If they were ghosts, why would they need a fucking motorboat to escape in)

>Luckily, the real Smitty was on the bridge controlling this Marionette of himself down here.
>Good thing you took puppeteering classes when you were 10, Smitts!

That's just the vessel she's going to use to take them into the ether.

He's fine. Besides, you know what's not going to help? Not following through on the plan and letting Jeane and her recently revived zombie boyfriend go crazy again.

There are very few people that Annie will get (outwardly) emotional over, and Smitty is not one of them.

It doesn't matter what the best way to deal with the situation is.
Annie's reaction isn't normal.
She's just a big dumb freak.

Well, duh.

I'll be interested to see Annie debriefing Jones on all this.

>*gargling noises of a dying friend fading in the background*

Annie grew up around psychopomps and has escorted the dead herself. I don't think the concept of death and dying affect her the same way they would a normal person. Also 'regular' people can and do operate on crisis mode too.

Oh SHIT

What fuck about Robot, actually?

No way he's done, done, surely

I couldn't handle the Shadow heartbreak

he's fine as long as the chip is undamaged

Enough Smitty whining. What I wanna know is if Annie's cut will heal as some symbolic shit, or it'll stay there as some reminder. I'd kinda miss it after all this time.

It was always intentional

>Robot
>Killed

He's had this exact injury before and still functioned enough to witness stuff. Enough if Jeanne did enough damage for him to lose power, his cpu will just 'sleep' until Kat repairs the body or plugs it into a new one.

>missed vitals
>non lethal
Do you have any basis for this claim other than arm chair med shit?

Smitty!!
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

That seems kind of dumb.

It seems the spirits need some symbolic passage to move on. A doorway or a trip down the river will do.

If she hit the heart or any arteries, blood would be spurting out of him. It's not.

If she hit a lung, he'd be coughing blood. He's not.

There's still the risk of other internal bleeding and infection but if he's going to die, it's isn't now.

>blade still securely lodged in wound
>spurt every where
Even leathal gunshots can have delayed bleeding. You're a fucking spastic.

Numbnuts didn't buy a watch so he's late

He has a teleporting future widow, he'd be alright getting help

MY BOY SMIT IS FUCKING DEAD

A lodge bladed wouldn't stop blood pumped directly from the heart like that unless somebody is putting a lot of pressure on it. Plus delayed bleeding doesn't work like that.

But please, go on and throw more names at me like an angry child.

Agree, see europepmc.org/backend/ptpmcrender.fcgi?accid=PMC2494362&blobtype=pdf and ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2609435/pdf/jnma00480-0063.pdf

Personally I think there's going to be plenty of consequences.
Either someone at the court is going to be pissed, or the forest is going to try starting shit, or possibly both.
Annie has already been warned numerous times not to meddle in affairs she shouldn't, this shit isn't going to fly.

no, that fate controls his actions via strings not the other way around.

Point is, I'd bully her.

But the string are wrapped around his fingers.

Interesting.

I'm looking forward to Smit being okay. ;)

>they never used coyote's tooth
For what purpose?

Or the chapter ends and nobody ever mentions it again.

Because it's dangerous.

Or why do I want him to survive? Because I wanna draw gross gunnerkrigg, which I promised to do if he doesn't die.

Gamma & Zimmy toilet games when?

Yes, that's deffo something I'll do.

But first I'll do KatPaz stuff.

Fuck off

The President likes golden showers.
We're societally accepted now. ;)

He ain't my president, mate.

>believing a completely fabricated story by fucking Sup Forums of all places

Was that prior to him having his organic body mods, though?

he will probably just be mad that he has to go back to the old body or this will be an excuse to get more

Reminder that Robot can now feel 'pain', so it will be interesting how he comes back from this.
