yes, I am indeed a true patrician

semi meme

Obviously I'm going to tell you it's great. I love it, it has great atmosphere, good spooky moments, and fantastic acting. I can understand why some people expecting conventional horror would be disappointed though, it's more of a character drama with horror elements.

1. Pour la suite du monde
2. La bête lumineuse
3. Fubar

Please tell me which films here are obscure. There's maybe 5 in the whole thread

It's a psychological thriller with a lot of religious imagery and george costanza. I enjoyed the setup and visuals it, but my friend who also watches a lot of movies hated it.

Inland Empire is Lynch's second worst film after Wild at Heart. It was originally filmed as multiple completely disconnected web shorts and it fucking shows, the movie is a mess and it looks like absolute shit.

how about you post your top 3 then faggot

Depends on the Criteria for me

These are pretty solid:
2001
Melancholia
Fanny and Alexander

The Wild Bunch
Rashomon
Au Hasard Balthazar

Terrible opinion. Wild at heart is better than MD and Dune. And Inland Empire is his best. He did not in fact conceive of it as disconnected shorts. He went through the same creative process as any director but instead of writing ideas down he just filmed them

Sunshine (2007)
Interstellar
The Rover

Fire Walk with Me
The Shining
Pi

Enemy
Fail-Safe
Dial M for Murder

Bottle Rocket - Wes Anderson
Il Sorpasso - Dino Risi (highly recommend, Italian kino at its finest)
8 1/2 - Federico Fellini

Cyд нapoдoв or Sud narodov (1947, Yelizaveta Svilova)
Batman v Superman (2016, Zack Snyder)
黒い河 (1957, Masaki Kobayashi)

xdd

Hana-bi
Barry Lyndon
Ran

Lemme guess...

*insert Bela Tarr film*
*insert Spirit of the Beehive*
*insert film that no one has ever seen and is completely irrelevant but you like it because of its importance to Queer Cinema or some shit*

I know right? Bunch of pretentious faggots. No one gives a shit about your "deep" black and white snorefests. Go be gay somewhere else, cumstains.

Anyways, here's my top 3:

1. Inception (Nolan is a fucking genius!)

2. Pulp Fiction (How is this not number 1?? I know right?? Sorry Quentin)

3. Watchmen (Easily the best superhero movie. Snyder is a visionary)

> redditors will disagree with this

Truly, the last patrician amongst us.

thanks anons

Is there a reason why you posted Japanese characters instead of "Black River".

You either have 0 friends or your friends secretly hate you.

1. Orca: The Killer Whale
2. Princess Mononoke
3. Terror of MechaGodzilla

Mirror
Persona
Eraserhead

>I need to start watching more movies
No one needs to watch movies, they're not art but pedantic cultural artifacts.
And watching is for the apes. Study Griffith sunplays.
Birth of a Nation
Intolerance
Dream Street

My Neighbor Totoro
It Happened One Night
Freddy Got Fingered

It has one of the best title songs on film history though

All Quiet On The Western Front
Sympathy For Lady Vengeance
Eyes Wide Shut

12 Angry Men
Taxi Driver
Jackie Brown

Glory
My Girl
Schindler's List

Can't narrow it down to a top 3, but here are 3 films I highly recommend:

1) Lost In Translation
2) Conan The Barbarian
3) Metropolis (1927)

...

Neither kino, cinema, nor movie
