Don't read Marvel. What am I looking at here? What are the ms paint Xs and Os? And how does that tag Divided We Stand make sense? Are they promoting hating other people or not getting along or something?

What you mean? 5 series are already cancelled?

Geez it's literally old (mostly white) fuckers versus the new heroes they've been pushing.

>no circle on Kamala when she sole less than gwenpool
>circle on SG and MG when all ages books never get cancelled

TO SEE IF I STILL FEEL

When will Marvel wise up? On one hand you've got forced movie synergy on the other there's forced diversity. But not one actually good comic book.

#WOKE

This doesn't even look like Marvel. It looks like a poor mans valiant. Fucking valiant!

Wait was Mosaic cancelled? KEK

>We want the Batman v Superman audience.

>This time next month Gamora and Wasp will also be cancelled

Maybe you should lube your bad dragon collectable first before insertion. But what do I know?

Mosaic was outperformed by Squirrel Girl in dollar share, that means it had less than 13k orders.

Oh fuck! What other failures is Marvel hiding?

How long can they keep giving away this many books for free?

DC should do what Marvel did years ago and give free variants for Marvel covers. At least then the retailers would make some money

weapons grade autism

What is?

>Pandering to people who don't read comics is going to work out, guys!

> I'm a shill

Isn't overshipping 1's a clear sign that Marvel had no confidence in their books? Will there be another relaunch this year?

>yet another inhuman book get canned.

Truly I live in the best timeline.

Someone needs to edit that Inhuman Days of Future Past variant cover to include all these doomed books and add tags like: cancelled, flopped and overshipped.

See, people keep talking about an overship, but isn't it illegal to send retailers more than they ordered? Are they just giving them FREE comics? Isn't this basically fraud of how well a business does? From what I'm understanding they are just printing "money" that they don't have to ruse the boys on wallstreet that they are doing well.

>but isn't it illegal to send retailers more than they ordered?

Probably but it will be thrown out of court if they tried anything because "lol comics" It's happened before

courts don't give a shit about comics

they'd probably shrug and say "why are you complaining about a gift lol"

>ANAD is the 2008 financial crisis in comic form

It might have done something, but they advertised him as NEW INHUMAN when absolutely no one cares about inhumans and then proceeded to sell his #1 for over five bucks. That's not how you give a book a good advertising start.

>Are they just giving them FREE comics?
Nah. They're giving them free comics they don't want and making them pay for the extra shipping.

>They're giving them free comics they don't want and making them pay for the extra shipping.

Now that has to be illegal

>>black female iron man
>>black female captain america...person
>>female deadpool
>>black spider man
>>female muslim ms marvel
>>chinese hulk
>>female hawkeye
>>dunno who that black captain planet kid is next to squirrel girl

Also if they are gonna push new Iron Man so hard why does her armor look like shit?

>be me
>heavy marvel reader til 2009-10 or so

What the actual fuck am I looking at here?

I recognize like, 3, of these characters.

>>>female deadpool

No you see user she just wears a look alike costume and has the last name "Poole" she totally has nothing to do with Deadpool.

because her armor was supposed to be built by her in college WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS

granted, they've already replaced it with a generic looking Iron Man suit but still.

that Hulk isn't Bruce Banner either, it's Amadeus Cho :^)

Did they drop the Ironheart name since it's literally Japanese porn?

Not to my knowledge.

You know they will make Wasp an "all-ages" title like Moon Girl

Can you show me what other time this has happened? I'm actually kind of curious because this is actually... very alarming.

Courts ruled that Diamond doesn't have a monopoly on distribution of comics because some bookstores sell trade paperbacks in them

welcome to Marlel.

Crashing this industry, with no survivors. Again.

Isn't Marvel just the greatest? Have you seen Civil War yet? Go watch it. Now.

>See, people keep talking about an overship, but isn't it illegal to send retailers more than they ordered?
Why would it be?

Because they have to pay for the shipping.
It's like going to a restaurant and getting a free side of fries but you have to pay the waitress extra on her tip

It'd only be illegal if they were demanding some kind of payment for the overship.

They pay extra for the shipping and they can't turn them away as they would have to turn away the entire order. There's no way this isn't illegal.

Not erudite on the comics business, what's the significance of overship percentages?

Does 100% overship mean that 100% of the comics shipped were unsolicited or that they increased whatever order was made by 100%?

>There's no way this isn't illegal.
So a comic store tries to sue Marvel. Now they are banned forever from ever selling Marvel again.

100% overshipped means they really only sold half of the number that gets reported, and provided the same number free.

I'm not sure where people are getting the numbers for how high books were overshipped though, but it wouldn't surprise me at this point.

The basically doubled the number of ordered comics, so if they ordered 20, they would be getting 40 at 100%.

>banned forever from ever selling Marvel again
From the sound of it, they're not selling Marvel now.

...

...

I mean, isn't that also incredibly wrong? They are committing wrong acts of shipment and overloading stores with comics they can't sell which clutter their shelves to the point where they are forced to basically throw them in the garbage to make room for the next overstock of shit they didn't even ask for. How the fuck does marvel sustain this shit? Do they just make this shit up with a digital sale so instead of living off on profit they just come out even from the losses of overstock that never sold?

Regardless if it is free or not. This is just literal fraud from the wallstreet level.

>I'm not sure where people are getting the numbers for how high books were overshipped

Retailer e-mails

>How the fuck does marvel sustain this shit?

A company like Marvel doesn't actually need to make money to stay in business.

Could that someone be 'you'?

Eh, my LGS stopped selling comics because of bullshit like this and always having a ton of unsold comics taking space.

...Tell me how that works so I can use it too.

>How the fuck does marvel sustain this shit?

Disney gives them enough fun-bucks to do whatever the fuck they want, because comics, mainly marlel trash, are just advertisements for the crappy movies.

DC, the better company, survives due to the fact that they actually put out a good comic every now and then, and whenever a marvel movie fan accidentally adds one to their pile of comics they pick up on their yearly visit to their LCS.

The world of Too Big to Fail economics is a scary place my friend.

Being a subsidiary of Disney basically means they have free access to infinite shareholder trust since everyone that might put money into them knows that, even if things go completely to hell, Disney will bail them out.

>I'm not sure where people are getting the numbers for how high books were overshipped though
There were some reports from individual stores, but then of course, we don't know if Marvel varied the numbers they overshipped to individual stores so that is a shaky metric. The best indicator we have are looking at the dollar ranking as well as the number of issues ranking, comparing the two and taking into account that Marvel often even has higher cover prices. So look at one of these two:

comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2016/2016-12.html

diamondcomics.com/Home/1/1/3/597?articleID=188968

So if a Marvel title has way more copies than a - say - DC title, but is way fucking lower in actual money earned, then it's clear that book was overshipped like a motherfucker.

I did the math for Nova 1 in the other thread:

Ranking on issue numbers: 30 at 58,393 copies
Actual ranking based on money: 81
Next two non-inflated books with the same cover price:
Daredevil money ranking: 79 with reported 30,781 units sold
and
Uncanny Avengers money ranking: 83 with 30,062.

So in conclusion Nova 1 sold approximately 30k and was overshipped by almost 100%.
It would be even worse if Daredevil or Uncanny Avengers were enhance, too, but I have no indication of that from the charts; their dollar is higher than their issues because of the Marvel 1 dollar premium price.

They fail to realize however, that Disney will bail the company out. Not the employees. There would be a purge and a restaffing.

Isn't Ike near the mandatory retirement age for Disney?

Well I mean, the shareholders don't give half a shit about the staff.

The staff probably should, but eh, they're probably wearing their political blinkers.

>implying
If everyone retired at 65 we wouldn't be ruled by a bunch of old farts.

Disney has a corporate mandatory retirement age set at 72.

It's nothing to do with the law, it's just something Disney puts in their employment contracts.

Which is why I'm saying if they actually operated at a loss or did something monumentally stupid the shareholders would have no trouble getting rid of anyone they see as a problem and replacing them.

They are overshipping Star Wars too??? But how fucking low will this company sink?

they've got a sledge hammer out right now and are having a go at rock bottom. Just to see if there is anything beneath it.

That's Disney's new plan to reach the Chinese market.
