Discovery makes you appreciate any previous version of Trek more

Still decent.

REMOVE HASPERAT

...

This place's obsession with Cardassians is worrying.

*neutralises braps*

It's because they did nothing wrong

Voyager has Borg interquadrental warp drives and Hirogen-hunting sensors and Vidiian phage torpedoes.

Right, Dukat is ebul, that people sympathize with him is literally why we've got GHONARG BLORMPF!

FIRE THE PHOTONIC CANNON

AYO JANEWAY
HOW BOUTS ME, DIS CRAKUH AND CHA-KO-TAY TEAR THAT SWEET LILY WHITE ASS UP

Just my gumbo recipe. But I'm taking that to my grave.

Why were bolians so infectious?

So now that the dust has settled, is Discovery better or worse than Enterprise?

easy. throw em a Fat Riker.

TNG > DS9 > TOS >>>>>>> ENT >>> VOY >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a lazy nigger > STD

>first couple of episodes of Enterprise
I got to like the crew, the show kinda feels... Stargate-ish? Difficult to pin down but that's how it is for me. But I really fucking love Stargate, so it's okay.
>first couple of episodes of Discovery
Why am I even watching this, I do not like a single fucking character. Not one.

Build schools and hospitals and help the slant noses better themselves. Some of the lazy fucks don't like working so go all BLM on their benafactors. Fuck them. Spoon heads were the victims.

tuvok is on of the better crafted characters in Voyager. STD shits on Vulcans and expects you to lick your lips.

>tuvok is on of the better crafted characters in Voyager.
BUUURRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

*grabs your girlfriend's ass*

BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPAPAPPA

Is the observation lounge the comfiest part of the Enterprise?

>picard
>resistance is fewTILE
>seven
resistance is fewDILL

forgot this guy

Tuvok >Doc>Kim>Tom>Anyone that isnt Janeway.

they were all shit apart from the doc

Literally just watched that episode. God, season one of tgn really was pretty bad.

pilot was really nice

>hating a great episode

You should out this holo novel called "photons be free".

>DID SOMEBODY SAY TWO KANARS?
>SCRAM DUKIT?!?!

>You should out this holo novel called "photons be free".
elaborate

STD is bad and I'm waiting for it to get worse
>Q shows up awakened by the mushroom-propulsion (which in turns is abandonned because it would bring more Q and I refuse to believe the writers will have the fucking gall of retconning all of Star Trek ever by making warp-drive outdated even before TOS) and he is a maniac genocidal "god" played by a guy giving his best Heath Ledger impersonation and dropping pseudo-philosophical lines about life, death and power straight out of a livejournal circa 2006
>Burnham naturally "goes rogue" because she needs to do the right thing and Starfleet are the villains now apparently, but in the end everyone will realize she was right all along
>we get to see the romulans and they are scheming supremacists one step away from twirling their mustaches while plotting the downfall of the inferior multicultural Federation

>Enterprise
>bad

Whatever happened to Barry Bashir, anyway?

>Why am I even watching this, I do not like a single fucking character. Not one.
What's wrong with based Lorca?

His boring monologues for starters.

Lorca is okay but you just know that he is going to be the big bad of the first season.

Not everyone is a nu-male impressed by stereotypical "tough" character

He's a white male and therefore badong.

He's Dr. Aronov in The Orville now

They did handle Tash"s death really well.

BTW did you notice the doctor's uniform changes from green to blue at the funeral? Pretty weird error to make.

He's a boring grimdark Captain with a deep and troubled past. I was actually looking forward to him since I like Isaacs, but Lorca doesn't have much to him. Maybe that will change, but considering how even the MC is still so unlikable and boring, I don't see that changing.

Why did the undershirts change colour so much in DS9? Sometimes they're nearly pink they're so bright

I wish we could get an Enterprise documentary style movie (ala Axnar) on the Romulan wars and the creation of the Federation. Like Ken Burns does trek.

>Bajorans while Gene Roddenberry was alive
>obviously based on Palestinians, who are displaced by the Israeli (Cardasians)

>Bajorans after Gene died
>retconned into being holocaust victims
>Cardasians retconned into being German Nazis.

Also the allegory for greedy Jews, the Ferengi, are suddenly retconned into being relatable and quirky.

Also remember that is the Federation = USA duty to fight and die to protect Bajor / Israel

He is painfuly obvious, the tired archetype of the old soldier who "did what had to be done", etc. A lot like Pressman from Pegasus or in a way Dukat.
Except unlike Pressman he isn't a one off baddie but a major character, and he isn't anywhere near as interesting and nuanced as Dukat. And seeing how the show is going, it's probably not wise to expect a lot of nuance.

>There is an another dimension where Trek was created with a Starfleet more like Romulans
feelsbadman

Except the Bajorans never appeared during Roddanberry's lifetime.
He did not write anything about them, ever. He had stopped writing for TNG by season 3, the bajorans first appear on 5 and the parallels really weren't established at all then.

>he isn't anywhere near as interesting and nuanced as Dukat. And seeing how the show is going, it's probably not wise to expect a lot of nuance.
It's a bit early to judge. It's difficult to provide real depth in 5 episodes especially since he isn't the mc. Even GOAT captain Picard took more than a season to really develop.

cardassians felt like russians towards the end

all the other things stand still

He died 2 weeks after their first appearance.

>one third of the entire season is already gone
>it's to soon to judge goy! you have to watch everything to judge the writing! ignore the obvious flaws!

I'd say it's a lot more similar to "siding with either side until you realize both are absolutely full of shit".
Which pretty much covers any and all dispute between two countries.

Are most people really paying to view it though?

We'll never know as it's on their online service behind a paywall, they can claim whatever they want. I really doubt it though, Trekkies aren't so dumb.

Indirectly, I guess.
Especially since it's on Netflix everywhere outside of the US and Canada.

there's a discovery thread for a reason. keep that sexually transmitted disease outta here

I don't browse Sup Forums often, why are there two threads?

it's not like there's any new trek material to discuss other than Discovery

Because the Discovery fans do nothing but shit on every previous series which disrupts the comfy, so they were asked to leave.

it's as much Trek as DS9, ENT and VOY
It belongs here so deal with it

fair enough

No it isn't.

General Trek threads are for the people who like Trek and don't like STD.
STD threads are for people who like STD. And them largely appear to not like the rest of Trek as much, or haven't seen it in the first place.

>but is okay when others fans do it
Really makes you think

Kira's Mom and Dukat at Terok Nor

STD is marketers and trolls pretending to be marketers.

user, when the shitposting fell.

THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM

Commander, you cannot keep using the industrial replicators to make food

To play the Chef, you first have to become the Chef.

>Let's drop the ranks for a moment. I don't like you. I think you're insubordinate, arrogant, willful, and I don't think you're a particularly good first officer. You are also the fattest person on the ship.

...

>gets Troi into a proper uniform
>makes Riker lose weight
he really didn't do anything wrong.
