This makes The Great Phatsby the first two parter since Who Shot Mr Burns.

Did anyone watch it? Did anyone like it?

Who the fuck still watches The Simpsons

That's the crazy thing. I don't know anybody on earth that does. Even the guy who ran a blog complaining about The Simpsons has stopped watch it. Were the hell does it get it's ratings from?

Even if I were to watch it, looking at that image alone would have dissuaded me.

The only reason The Simpsons is still airing is because Fox are worried that merchandise sales would plummet if they cancelled.

I tuned in to see what this "hour long" episode was about. It was garbage.

Character motivations make no sense, par for the course for Zombie Simpsons.

>Marge is excited to own a store
>It's never explained how she got the store
>She's so excited she tears up the wallpaper
>Homer tells her they can't afford to lease a store
>She just walks away from it

And of course their attempt to satirize hip hop culture was completely tone deaf.

Al Jean should be ashamed.

I don't think you could make a more unappealing Simpsons poster if you actually tried

why don't you fucking hang yourself

By chance I actually did happen to catch it.

Yes, this side plot and Lisa's were lame, but overall it was still a pretty enjoyable episode. More people need to give modern simpsons a chance, it's not legendary quality like the old episodes, but it's not too bad actually.

I don't get what the point of Lisa's subplot is.

Looked like some retarded Empire parody somehow mixed with The Great Gatsby (about three years too late,) so no.

This, and the fact that it's still an international juggernaut.

The show has certainly gone downhill. The golden age was a long time ago and lots of people are angry because they'll never get that back.

If my assessment is correct, why not accept it and move on instead of complaining endlessly about it? You still have the older episodes; they will always be there.

If I'm not correct in my assessment, that begs the question: why are so many people angry that a show simply exists? There are plenty of horrible shows out there. If you don't enjoy it, simply don't watch it. That's what I do with 2 Broke Girls. I dislike the show, but understand it has its fans. If it brings enjoyment and laughter to those people, who am I to tell them it should be cancelled? There are plenty of other places to get entertainment they is more suited for you.

I still watch The Simpsons. I've never missed an episode. Yes, the episodes aren't close to what they were in season 8, but they still bring me laughs and I find them more entertaining than a lot of things on television today.

You probably have senile humor then. Here's your dentures, gramps.

As do many people. How does the mere existence of the show affect your life in any way? Change the channel. There is plenty of other stuff on.

>The golden age was a long time ago and lots of people are angry because they'll never get that back.
Is this copypasta or something? Because I'm not seeing a lot of anger in this thread, or most Simpsons threads in general. Usually it's just confusion about the fact that it's still airing.

I still watch it. I enjoy The Simpsons. However, this episode was terrible. Long and drawn out and not really funny.

Despite opinion on Sup Forums many people still watch and like the show.

Perhaps not in this thread, but I've seen it a lot in general. Didn't mean to come off like it was you guys in this thread specifically.

I heard it's still very popular in Brazil.

Nope, non-classic era airs on open tv but i dont know a single soul who follows it, the channel even replaced the schedule to some scam casino for months.
If you're talking of pic related its an argie or chilean thing.

I watch The Simpsons every week and its funny to see everyone shitting on this episode when personally I thought it was one of the better episodes in a while.

Yes, the Marge and Lisa B-plots were bad and really should have just been cut, but the rap culture of excess is a fine comparison to the roaring 20s rooting a familiar old story in a modern day realism with enough success to be at least moderately entertaining.

Also the music was rather catchy and fun which is always a plus.

Didn't they spoil the entire plot with all those trailers and clips? There were so many.

>Dunno why you guys are so down on modern Simpsons!
>why, I watch it every week
>I watched the newest one and it wasn't THAT bad
>it was almost tolerable!

You're really selling us on this shit lads.

I've heard a lot of international dubs rework the jokes in new episodes to be better than the original American dub, which is why it's still popular abroad. I've seen numerous Latin American anons talk about how modern Latin American Simpsons is actually still pretty good for example. Not golden age good, but better than what we have here.

It was godawful.

>Looked like some retarded Empire parody somehow mixed with The Great Gatsby (about three years too late,) so no.
It was and it was even worse with the constant R&B/Rap gueststars being crammed into it. Some were 3 and 4 at a time for quick cameos to make sure they could brag how many guests they had.

Other than Carl and Dr Hibert, can you even think of another regular black character on the Simpsons?

Boco and newfags?

Boco and three people on NoHomers.

I gave up at That 90s Show.

Nice copypaste.

God what a shit episode. How many times has Burns gone broke and didn't they have a Homer and his pet friend episode last week? At least that Packers game was good.

velaposting is an argentinian/chilean meme.
also, here on chile we love classic simpsons, but no one watches the new seasons.

bump

Argentina here, I've met maybe two people who like the new seasons. New seasons sucking is the general consensus.

>DUDE EMPIRE LMAO

>RIGHT GUYS

>GUYS

Kill this fucking show already

I'd be lying if I said it didn't take me a while to remember Lou.
