movie ending was kinda meh. toned down for high school kids who love first world anarchy virtue signalling- destroying the credit card databases, communitarian/socialist idealism etc.
the book has a darker ending with the main character being unable to escape the mechanism that he helped create because he wants more from life than just destroying things- a good comparison could be made to ideologies and cults and how they often spiral away from their origins. in the book, men being men in fighting pits turns into a project on a mass scale beyond fighting pits. it's not great literature, but it's not simplistic as the anarcho-ending in the film

exploding the accounts would take a nuclear bomb on the movie world (aka the end of the world, or how we know it), but they made it somehow, taking eveybody closer to their living mode. i think the narrator freed the slaves of modern society, so the slaves, and tyler, wanted to make something of it. best movie ever made, probably forever
