In your opinion, what is the most overrated superpower?

In your opinion, what is the most overrated superpower?

Super Precision in Aiming, or sharpshooting or what have you, basically Bullseye or Deadshot's skills in a typical capeshit comic.

If you're a hero you have to miss to keep up the dramatic tension, if you're a villain you have to miss or at least not kill the hero for whatever reason because the plot demands it. Its a self-defeating superpower

Flight or invisibility

Dunno why, but those are always the normie go-to superpowers, and they're really not that good

Flight would be incredible. Invisibility would be tricky.
As for overrated powers, I'm not sure there are any. Powers are meant to be useful and cool.

Reality manipulation/omnipotence. A boring powerset that is not meant for the main protagonist of the story.

Super inmunity and durability. Super strength, speed, flight, they're all fine, but durability just ensures nobody ever sustains any real lasting wounds, and powers which should have unique harmful ramifications like poison, or lasers, or fire, have the same weight as a physical confrontation.

It's fucking boring. And it adds ambiguity and weightlessness to how much pain the character's in. You can empathize better if they have the same threshold for pain and injury as a normal person.

Tell that to that this guy. His only power is his blue skin.

Flight would be pretty shitty without some modicum of superspeed and anti-bug aura.

Yeah, but if it's only one power, flight is useless. You don't have superspeed, so it'd probably be easier to walk everywhere rather than exercising this ability you've had no previous experience with

Even if you couple it with superspeed, you'd always have to go out in layers, otherwise you'd risk getting sick

Also, depending on your altitude, you'll always be running into things without knowing it

Energy blasts. With the fulcrum of energy out there it's a who's who of what's what

> you'd always have to go out in layers, otherwise you'd risk getting sick

cold temps doesn't actually make you sick

Time stop, Zack Morris or Dio Brando style.

Super strength. Definitely.

People with super strength seem to be able to hold unto anything and lift from any point regardless of materials or balance. The earth doesn't give out below them and it ALWAYS comes with some invulnerability even if they say it doesnt.

It's not that big a deal since the applications for great strength are very limited. But they always make it out to be essential, the guy who can lift and pull. It's actually a very pedestrian view of super powers.

time stop could make you have literally anything you want, how is that overrated?

Superspeed without a doubt

especially the kind where you move so fast you can time-travel

This.

flight and invisibility, in that order, unless you can do both

Not so much overrated as just over used, I hate the "typical power set" of strength, durability, and flight. It's so lazy and generic, they give it to any "regular guy" character. In fact I think one of the reasons Jessica Jones works as a character that rarely uses her powers (or doesn't use them in a flashy way) is that her power set is so generic.

Power Mimicry
Its a toss of a dice it depends too much on who you are up against

Also its more likely your opponent has mastery of the said power over you

Unless you also have instant power /skill master aswell

Unless if you're up against a team. Super-Skrull and Amazo kinda prove that power mimicry is most useful when you're going against more than 1 superhuman at once

Toonforce.

Flight would just be fucking fun. Its not about being faster (which is still probably would be because you're flying over obstacles and taking the quickest possible route everywhere you go) its really not about being practically useful, but its still the power most people would choose because of how fun it would be. People pay over a hundred bucks just to go skydiving or hang-gliding, where you barely have any modicum of control. Now imagine being able to hang-glide whenever you want, without the risk of falling to your death, and being able to control it too a much larger degree. It would be fucking awesome.

The ability to adapt.

This. Energy manipulation comes from annoyingly endless "energy sources" and the strength of each is 100% the current writer's call and is never consistant between characters

>Flight would just be fucking fun.

You're completely broken if you don't agree with this.

Fucking this. I'm getting depressed just thinking about being able to experience views like this on a regular basis.

>dat Captain Hero in the corner
Mah nig

Well for the ones that aren't meant to be incredible, I doubt they're overrated either.
