First Post Best Post

Are any of those three after In The Mouth of Madness worth watching?

This month took a strange turn,

Ghosts of Mars is pretty dumb and the editing is bad but it's worth a watch if you like the whole "small group has to battle the horde in an isolated environment" thing.

underrated spoofkino

Vampires is fine if you're in the mood for non-gay vampires and James Woods.

How was the scarecrow movie? The scarecrow theme/tone/whathaveyou is ripe for horror movies but barely gets represented.

Village of the Damned isn't too bad but gets shit on because it's just a remake too similar to the original.

Vampires was okay but nothing special

The Ward was shit.

I've been watching a lot of vampire movies and it's funny just how much gay is overt or bubbling just below the surface. Vampire Bill's blood had fucking GLITTER in it in The Lost Boys.

>le wacky horror spoof flick
>starring random shitty rapper
not touching that trash with a ten foot pole

>being this much of a faggot

Will we ever get a version of The Thing (2011) that has the original practical effects that were used before they covered everything with CGI?

A lot of straight stuff in the 80's would have been seen as gay today.

the glitter was added because they didn't want to stray too far from horror-comedy and use rivers or realistic blood

Unpopular opinion: H20 wasn't that bad.

Don't use this as an excuse. It was the 1980's. Everything had fucking glitter.

I don't know what you are trying to imply

what these threads have shown me is that Sup Forums has shittaste and most horror movies, especially those made by hollywood, are complete garbage

my favorite horror movies are The Thing and Martyrs. except for the twist Haute Tension was great too.

That might've been the reason for it, but subversive gayness I'm sure played a part in it.

>Schumacher
>Rob Lowe poster
>every article of clothing Corey Haim wears
>corey Haim actively tries to get his bro to stop staring at peak Jami Gertz
>"Mom, I have something to tell you..."
>OILED UP SHIRTLESS SAX GUY!!!!!

That movie has a lot of gay going on. 80s audiences were just too naive to identify the gay stuff closeted gay dudes were injecting into their scripts/movies because it wasn't as accepted or nearly as in the public consciousness as it is today.

it's only unpopular in this general
most people think H20 is fairly decent
great ending
needed more blood though

I wish Krampus' release would have kickstarted a resurgence of little creature movies.

It exists. It's just a matter of somehow convincing the studio to release it.

practical effect shitters are the worst

even mediocre cgi looks better than practical

>Martyrs
trash

Cool.

Can we all agree Carpenter started the synth for horror movies? Hes literally the inspirations for all these new synthwave soundtracks you see.
youtu.be/SH2f4A4SVNk

Huh. Never thought about it but Carpenter is one director that I've seen almost every film of.

I really, really didn't like H20 then or now after rewatching it. It feels less like a Halloween movie and more like a generic 90s slasher. MM doesn't even feel like himself. Compare scenes from the earlier movies (even the shittier ones) where you briefly see The Shape hanging around in the background to that scene when LL is inpsecting the empty car and MM looks toward him and briskly walks past as if he's winking to the fucking audience. As for that ending, it probably would've been better without that very cringey moment when Mike's on the hood of the van and you get that super closeup of Jamie Lee Curtis. It's just shot so poorly. Bad, bad, bad movie IMO. But I can understand why some people still enjoy it.

The shot around the 4:03 mark is what I'm talking about.

then give me a horror movie you think is not trash

Would you be a thrall to a vampire?

Ghosts of Mars is the only film ever to capture the feeling of a mediocre Dreamcast game ripping off Resident Evil.

>even mediocre cgi looks better than practical
uhhhh no sweetie

>mediocre Dreamcast game ripping off Resident Evil
I would ask which one you're talking about but there's too many

>putting Martyrs in the same sentence as The Thing
It's torture porn and nothing more. It's not an art film. It's not deep. It's trash.

based sweetie poster

not if the vampire wears stupid cheap looking whore costumes

>most people think H20 is fairly decent
No they fucking don't.

Let's just agree that all movies are trash and we're all tremendous faggots.

>even mediocre cgi looks better than practical
Nice Shitposting

>torture porn
people like you are the reason why I havent watched it for so long and when I finally did I saw that there is no torture shown at all in the movie except for some slapping and chaining. every james bond is much more violent than Martyrs

Seeing Jamie Lee Curtis hunting down Micheal was better than anything from 4-6

>and we're all tremendous faggots.
I agree that you are.

But that's part of the charm.

>every james bond is much more violent than Martyrs
You clearly have never seen any Bond film pre-2004.

martyrs is one of many movies that can be referred to as torture porn but its by far the best of that sub genre

>was better than anything from 4-6
Why can;t we just say they're all shit. A turd being slightly better than vomit is still not good.

better than anything hammer or universal put out

Going to be posting horror films of each decade starting with the 1930's

in fact I have only seen the old ones and not any of the new ones with the blonde fags

might as well go to the 80s already because there are no movies before that time worth watching

Why do you randomly say this as if it's relevant to the previous post? Don't get me wrong you're objectively incorrect, but what do you gain from sharing this?

>not liking 60s and 70s movies
plen

40's & 50's
No can do, underage fag.

60's

70's (a personal favorite of mine)

80's

literally goosebumps-tier

shivers is underrated cronenberg kino

Lastly the 90's. Will try to do more in the future but I feel I haven't seen enough that I liked to make a whole list. 00's had a lot more bad and not enough good to make up for it imo.

nice quads. 3 is better.

They say Creepshow 3 was more Goosebumps tier.. I still to this day don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing since I love Goosebumps and consider it cozy as fuck.

The 80s were great.

A little too much comedies and slashers, but I agree otherwise.

>Bodybags
There's another Carpenter horror movie? Any good?

dont even bother. those were awful

What the fuck does one thing have to do with the other?

>tfw no matter how hard i try to look Eye Without a Face is the only film to get the gothic atmosphere right

suffering

John Carpenter playing the "crypt kepper type of character" and the first segment was fantastic and worth watching the whole movie but the other 2 segments were just meh. Although one did have Mark Hamill.

You serious? Have you never seen any Hammer film?

Fuck your dubs, Creepshow 3 is an abomination.

>Not including the changeling

>implying that would make it less shit
No matter how good the fx that's a 5/10 at best

Such an overrated movie.

Vampires is shit, can't speak for the other two

It would redeem it quite a bit.
How? It's widely regarded as a terrible movie both critically and commercially

Anyone else like Evil Dead 2 more than 1? Also, unpopular as fuck opinion, but the remake was pretty good.

All we'd get is a remake of Gremlins with Trump jokes and no practical effects or puppets

no and no, the original is a classic. 2 is good, ust not quite as good

Currently browsing netflix, looking for a decent horror flick to watch. Will take suggestions.
A bit about me, I prefer spooky ghosts to slashers or gore porn like saw/hostel. I enjoyed the babadook and paranormal activity 1 for example. Seen both conjurings, liked 1 more than 2 but they're ok.
I like creepy shit more than thrillers. Thrillers just piss me off because X does something stupid and makes it worse. Horror movie logic pisses me off to no end and ruins the whole movie for me.

Eyes without a Face is on TCM now.

What I don't get is Kwaiden was suppose to be on after Eyes Without a Face but it now shows that Diabolique is in its time slot. They already showed Diabolique this month already

What's going on?

thoughtcatalog.com/emily-madriga/2017/09/here-are-all-the-horror/

Is the Blair Witch Project any good?

Vacancy is underrated.

Yes and the less you know going in the better.

I just hated

Spoilers

Luke Wilson somehow surviving

I agree with 1 is a masterpiece. 2 was fun but if you watch it one after the other, 2 is a little disappointing. 3 was fun. Remake was trash.

Netflix has no good horror movies. 99% of it is just recent garbage. Even in October the best they can give us are those shitty Saw movies and Hostel..
No it's just an hour and a half of 3 unlikable characters in a woods yelling at each other. You don't even see anything. Feel like i've said this 1000 times.

for the love of all that is sacred holy or even human, do not watch the green inferno

seriously, fuck that fucking movie
So many imagines I don't want in my head right now

I'll fuck you up

>replying to weak bait

Why? you don't like happy ending, user?

Three 3's in a row

The only good one there is Return of the Living Dead 3.

Just finished Gerald's Game. Pretty comfy for a psychological thriller with a dash of horror thrown in. Are any of the director's other movies worth watching?

It's the best version of itself, let's put it that way.

Damn I always forget how old Eraserhead is. It looks so much more modern than everything else on that list.

shit taste

>Not liking Sleepaway Camp's sequels

OK...

You won't fight me tho

I still find Christiane surprisingly cute for some reason.
