>kids die in a fire brought on by alcoholic neglect
>comfy

The movie wasn't stressful in any way, hence it was comfy.
Sad things can be comfy.

i dunno man, it was pretty harrowing, but i know what you mean about the small town or bahstan vibe. Ben Affleck's films, the ones he directed has it. Or check out David Gordon Green films like All the Real Girls, George Washington. Or Junebug.

A Ghost story

I dunno, these films don't seem too comfy and I've already seen Junebug.
Thanks though.

Why was I called reddit for liking this movie

Thanks bro, shot a few of them on DL.
I'm not sure, redditfags have never even experienced proper depression in their lives so they wouldn't understand the movie.

>Skipping Jackie, the best depressioncore this decade and the best film of last year for meme flicks and netflix trash

lmao @ you're whole life kid

good post

I don't care for movies that glorify the Kennedys, the best thing John ever did was die before his ineptitude become wildly known.

No one cares

>Perks of being a wallflower
What a piece of shit that was.

Lars and the real girl

I wanted to watch Lonesome Jim but couldn't find a good torrent.
>clearly triggered because I dont want to watch your shitty suggestion

You're welcome, it's personal preference of course, but David Gordon Green is really comfy.

>The Man From Earth
This is top tier comfy kino, or dare I say it, cino

comfy and sad as well

>Manchester by the Sea is comfy

how is this a comfy movie you sociopath?!

I felt depressed watching it

He doesn't mean comfy as in feel good movie but comfy in the sense of feeling totally absorbed in the film in a calm way (as opposed to being absorbed in something where your heart's racing etc.)

submarine is such a good movie. i'm sure there are scores of contrarians here that hate it

>Dear Jordana,
Thank you for letting me explore your perfect body. I could drink your blood. You’re the only person I’ve allowed to be shrunk down to a microscopic size and swim inside me in a tiny submersible machine. We’ve lost our virginity but it wasn’t like losing anything. You’re too good for me. You’re too good for anyone.
Sincerely, Oliver

great letter

The Station Agent
American Splendor

>comfy in the sense of feeling totally absorbed in the film in a calm way
This is a new one, not what i thought comfy meant. I assumed it was like warm or comforting mies-en-scene.

The Ice Storm
Igby Goes Down

Thanks friendo, but I've already seen it.
I'll DL that another day because i'm running outta space.
When you're already incredibly depressed, depressing movies become quite comfy.
This is also accurate.

Any movie by Terrence Malick except Badlands

Makes sense when you put it like that

Comfy means good pretty much, like it's not trying too hard. Or cringe.

I get it.

I guess watch some foreign films by Taiwanese directors

great soundtrack too

Larry David's Clear History is a comfy version of Curb

Thanks for the suggestions.
I've got like 100gb of movies queued right now, it's getting a bit ridiculous.

>Sup Forums thinks manchester by the sea was comfy

your brain on capeshit

I am fucking appalled. At least someone
Pointed it out. In the thread: "B-BUT IS NOT THAT COMFY"
What the fuck.
>kids die in a fire brought on by alcoholic neglect

You need to be the right level of emotionally dead inside

>when he finally looses his shit

See these you brainlets who have never experienced hardship and can't recognise Manchester by the Sea as comfy.

>I was in film 1 (>:
Both trash

I totally relate OP. curling up in a blanket at seeing those opening water vistas, small town feel, snowy/rainy weather, little shitty apartments, I can't explain why this movie is so comfy

There's also that feeling that it can't get much worse than it already is for the protagonist.

It's almost an apathetic comfort, can't go bad already too sad so any time you're conscious you can be comfy
