What idea for a horror film have you thought of that has never been put on film before?
I'll admit i'm a brainlet pleb who hasn't read lovercraft, but a mystery horror of the opening segment to this would be rather nice.

youtube.com/watch?v=pins1y0XAa0

Post a better them.
You can't

does anybody else like Hostel better than Saw?

Hostel and Saw are almost as shitty as slashers.

Can the guy who spams this image tell me why he likes Dr. Phibes so much?
I found it to be quite boring, the whole film is the same three or four scenes repeated for 90 minutes.
The cinematography was of course great, but that alone can't carry the whole film.

>doesn't like slashers

Slashers are for fags, women and bugmen.

Literally the worst kind of horror.

What counts as a slasher exactly? Are you saying you hold no respect at all for something like halloween?

I would say zombies or body horror is worse

Theater of Blood was better.

watching some Silent Hill kino on SyFy this morning

man this movie looks great

>edited for TV

Dinner is ready. Need a non cringy recent horror kino fast

>recent

hi pleb

Thnx too this general i found baskin and liked it.

What are some movies like Grave Encounters? Landscape/building that changes shape to fuck with the people in it. Doesn’t have to be great

a scientist invents a machine to get rid of nightmares and a bunch of horny teenagers break into his lab and hook themselves up to it to see if it works but they get stuck inside all the nightmares in the machine

You should've at least picked a better poster.

I went for originals

The GOAT giallo

It's okay. I was being a dick.
Check out I Am Not a Serial Killer.

>that alone can't carry the whole film.
Yes.
>The cinematography was of course great
No.

Should get a list going of horror movies available on youtube.

What are some spooky YouTube videos?

Why did the aliens make the black guy cuck Kurt?

Troma films are all on YouTube.

how many girls were Harvested on set?

none

>

your food looks gross

I watched this movie recently, about 2-3 months ago. While I do like the music, I think it drowned out a lot of the movie itself + the actual movie was a disappointment to me. Probably because I had read nothing but praise from it.

you'll be back

god-tier opening 15 minutes
fizzles out almost completely after that

That was pretty good, though I can see why it's so often forgotten when it comes to Universal's horror catalog.
Still, pretty good, great sets and neat use of lighting for the time.

You can't make a lovecraft film because it all comes apart in the realisation, to keep it's potency it would just have to be meandering and abstract. But saying that the film Dagon is a good representation of the story that game is based on and served as the basis for the villagers in resident evil 4 as well.

shit movie

Rate my list for this year's Halloween Movie Marathon week:

Phenomena (Dario Argento, 1985)
Basket Case (Frank Henenlotter, 1982)

Theatre of Blood (Douglas Hickox, 1973)
Ultimo Deseo (León Klimovsky, 1976)

Dark Shadows (Tim Burton, 2012)
Stephen King's IT (Tommy Lee Wallace, 1990)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Tobe Hooper, 1974)

IANASK was awful

God tier soundtrack

Not him and I like slashers but I hold no respect for Halloween and think it's complete garbage. Black Christmas does everything it did better 5 years earlier

Evening lads
I've never seen any of the Paranormal Activity films (strange considering found footage is a weakness for me)
Do they come recommended? Are they all trash? Of course I intend to start at the beginning but which ones should I watch and which should I skip?
Netflix has nearly the whole set (randomly missing part 4 which is annoying but oh well)
Thoughts?

all trash
watch noroi instead

I've watched a lot of horror, suspense and science fiction movies and I've noticed one thing. This guy gets killed in just about everyone that he's in. They should make a movie called "Donald Dies at the End".

>OLIVIA HUSSEY

i know those titties

I want a horror movie that is actually scary
No jumpscares
No gore
Just fear
Why is it so hard?

They're all almost identical just try watching the first one.

The Blackcoat's Daughter

Do you guys like short films?
Anything good you can recommend?

The cropping there is awful, what the fuck.

>being scared when best emma is on screen

Avoid pic related.

Interesting premise handled poorly. Bad acting, no atmosphere or real threat and a great theme song used far too sparingly.

I feel if it were made in the 80s it would have been made correctly.

>modern horror
>made to look like its from the 80s
>not good
no shit?

Poor Barbara Crampton.
Her comeback is not as memorable as you'd want it to be. Everything she's been in recently has been mediocre at best.

The Thing
Return of the Living Dead
The Evil Dead
Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
Possession
Videodrome
The Shining
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Fright Night
Child's Play
The Fly
Re-Animator
An American Werewolf in London
Hellraiser
They Live
Night of the Comet
Night of the Creeps
Society
The Gate
From Beyond
The Lost Boys
Gremlins
Parents
Killer Klowns From Other Space
The Blob
Brain Damage
Demons
House
The Beyond
TerrorVision

Watched all those this month alone and honestly didn't dislike a single one.
Also, Child's Play for the first time since I was like 7 years old. Felt weird.

she's still hot pretty fucking hot for someone almost 60

Its only the poster that looks like its from the 80s tbf. Very much rooted in today.

Absolutely.

Iunno man, it really got to me. I don't know why.

If you enjoy stuff like TerrorVision, The Stuff and Night of the Creeps, do yourself a favor and check this out.

>night of the creeps

I couldn't agree more about this. I was excited for it and damn what a disappointment. So much potential wasted.

You ready for the return of Depp's worst character?
You ready for more inappropriate shots of your own daughter's ass?
You ready for more KevinKino?

I'm surprised Rob Zombie hasn't put her in a movie yet

Post yfw you will never have this experience because we are so desensitized

>Lalo score was used in an advanced trailer which some have called the “banned trailer.” As the stories go, this trailer literally made audiences sick when it was shown. It’s unclear if the sounds and images were simply upsetting or if the flashing images actually caused seizures in some viewers.

>The people who saw the trailer reacted against the film, because the scenes were heavy and frightening, so most of them went to the toilet to vomit. The trailer was terrific, but the mix of those frightening scenes and my music, which was also a very difficult and heavy score, scared the audiences away.

>A little glimpse of the mass hysteria that The Exorcist caused during its original theatrical premiere on December 26, 1973, including footage of the audience reactions and the incredibly long lines of people who waited hours upon hours to see the film.

youtube.com/watch?v=AkIqFK3KoZ4

that sounds dumb
the movie works better when it's about mother at wit's end over her daughter and failing to protect her
the exorcism stuff is just the icing on the cake

7/16

It's the usual story, but I miss that feeling I had when Blair Witch came out.
People thought it was a real documentary, internet was not for everyone so no easy way to confirm it, watching it with my friends and coming back home in the middle of the night...we were just kids, even together we were terrified as fuck to cross the woods.
Good stuff.

a guy killed himself after watching ghostwatch
he thought pipes was living in his house

I hate slashers with a passion and concluded that the Saw series actually improves with each iteration. it stops being horror (was it ever?) and starts becoming crime/drama/comedy with the gore turned up. good shit.

>tfw giant Hallowen party at college tomorrow and no one to go with
What are some spooky movies that deal with this feel?

ginger snaps

Its about time he finished the True North Trilogy.

>Saw series improves with each iteration

Theatre of Blood > Phibes 2 > Phibes

I'll say it

and I like Phibes

that's because there is not a bad film on this list

You're right but the weakest one there is Elm Street.

Eh I'd throw From Beyond in "weak" category.

Although Crampton butt bonus

>IANASK was awful
Now that's what I call shit taste.

sorry to hear you're a retarded faggot user.

>elm street weaker than killer klowns

pretentious/10

GIMME SOME ATMOSPHERIC HORROR TO GET ME IN THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT

THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT IS FALLING RAPIDLY

As Above, So Below, sort of

>The Stuff
That movie is fun as hell.

Trick r Treat
Halloween: Season of the Witch

SEEN but thank you for your concern

I know you are, but what am I?

Pontypool.

>Creep 2

Definitely not as good as the first.

>Black Christmas has a masked, silent killer who stalks his prey in broad daylight

You realize the opening segment of that is ripped directly out of the story, right?

A Dark Song pulls that trick, and is a much better movie.

The Stuff managed to be both falling short of the mark and way surpassing expectations

I had to keep asking myself 'wait, is this actually good?'

I liked it a lot

Baskin was fucking solid.

Thirteen Ghosts is a fun movie. Fite me.

rike roinks raggy

Is there a list for comfy Halloween Kino. I'm thinking films like
>Sleepy Hollow
>Hocus Pocus
>Trick'r Treat
That really nail that Halloween feeling

>>Sleepy Hollow
Love the aesthetic of the film, Ricci is beyond hot in it.

Ernest Scared Stupid
Monster Squad
Halloweentown

yea proper qt

cheers these look cool
