Why does Sup Forums like this flick so much?

It’s basically just Drive for bugmen.

It's nothing like Drive
Baby Driver: edgar wright action movie
Drive: refn romance drama
similarities: cars and an eccentric main character

This is flick is quintessentially reddit.
>bad writing
>excessive use of music to communicate emotion replacing cinematic storytelling
>style over substance
>meme quips
>poor characterisation

This flick pretends to be good and plebs can't seem to tell the difference.

>so what do you do, baby?
>i drive
It’s a remake, doofus

...

Damn, since when has she had those pythons?

>heist movie for 10 year olds and/or mentally handicapped

Basically dogshit for plebs.

I assumed this and decided not to see it

Watched it last night. I do not have autism nor am I a Sup Forums contrarian so I found it enjoyable.

8/10 incredible editing

Daily reminder that buddy did nothing wrong and that baby killed a few fucking people in this movie despite being praised as a saint in court

>meme quips
confirmed for not seeing the film

>I baby drive

...

I quite liked it. but I don't understand why Doc was so nice to Baby when shit hit the fan (Baby being completely responsible)

Doc would threaten Baby that he could kill everyone he loved or cared about if he didn't do his job. suddenly in the end with the heist dead, his team dead and all the cops on his ass, Doc sees Baby with his girl and he lets Baby take his music, gives him and his girl money to run away with AND gets in a gunfight with several goons and Buddy all while telling Baby and his girl to fucking run away.

explain this

maybe he was a romantic at heart or something. Perhaps some backstory would have helped a bit. or he'd lost a waifu or some shit previously?

Buddy did nothing wrong.

Im guessing that after all that time he actually developed some sort of feeling for him, giving him job was not only to make him pay his debt but it also make him develop a bond and he probably really trusted baby but couldn't show to him for obvious reasons, the girl also showed to him that he was serious about his intentions with the tape and wasn't a snitch, seems logical after years of working together in a bussines where you usually dont see the same face twice.

>Why does Sup Forums like this flick so much?
have you ever been on this board before?
have you missed the hundreds of threads saying it was shit?

>Drive
>show-offy but not very innovative or narrative cinematography
>protagonist is a robot
>violence is either over the top or without any real grit
>driving scenes are too brief, not choreographed or edited well
>nu80s bullshit
>it's okay i'm a murderous monster because i'm the good guy and everyone's good despite being a criminal because muh heart of gold
>autists love it

>Baby Driver
>main character forced into criminal situations against his will
>has actual emotions and wants to live a normal life
>actively tries to de-escalate situations and avoid violence
>driving scenes are masterfully edited and choreographed
>criminals range from likeable sociopaths to outright evil
>violence is sudden and brutal, even the implied violence
>entire movie edited to a constantly kinetic and appropriate soundtrack
>callbacks to actual cinematic landmarks like Chinatown, Bullit, The Driver, Breathless and Bonnie and Clyde
>autists hate it

>durrr me like duh music XD fuck da haters!!!!!

Can't tell if this is a reddit or a tumblr post.
Kill yourself either way.

I've seen way more neagative threads about this movie than positive ones
And for good reason

You're acting like I said one was better than the other

when I first watched I really thought Buddy and Baby would be best buds and they would kill Bats together.

god damnit Baby why'd you have to ruin a good thing? having a nigga like Buddy have your back was comfy as fuck

>I drive babies
What did he mean by this

Shit movie - Just watched it for the first time the other day. Jon Hamm was the only redeeming quality.

It was Redditcore, normie, le quirky music badass guy garbage.

>one of your things your describing has very obvious insults about it
>the other has no negatives, only positives
>hurrrrr I'm not saying one is better than the other hurrrrrr

that's not true, and let's be honest you shouldn't hold Sup Forumss opinion in high regard anyways, this is a normie shitposting board after all

Daily reminder that Baby was the actual villain of this movie

one is clearly better than the other, since it actually makes sense

>just met a girl, she agrees to become most wanted criminals because we listen to the same music
>the big bad boss that threatens to kill my family if i stop working for me is instead helping me escape and sacrificing his life for me because i got a girlfriend now

Clearly you're not understanding my prose
>just met a girl
>hit it off through a few encounters
>we fall in love
>but then crime leaks into real life
>save her and she runs away with me
Did you intentionally misinterpret that plotline?
Though I'll agree Spacey's bit was really contrived

sauce?

i drive, baby

ralph told me to like it

So Doc says that he doesn't run with the same crew twice, but then he ran with the same crew on the last heist
