What's the best Asterix comic and why is it pic related?

What's the best Asterix comic and why is it pic related?

Didn't you make this yesterday?

Anyway, it's Obelix meets Capitalism.

>Obelix meets Capitalism
Acceptable choice, although I wish it had more humor

This is my favorite one as well. Pic related is a close runner up, though.

Good taste, it's a nice mystery story, shame it's so predictable (I guessed correctly who had the shield at the beginning of the story).

I'm partial to pic related.

>those first two pages showing Caesar and others talking
Too fucking god-tier

Cmon Sup Forums, don't tell me you don't like Asterix

I love Asterix but I don't have a favorite album.

What about a least favorite?

I don't think I even need to answer this.

Obviously it's something post-Goscinny
Probably the Falling Sky, eh?

Yep.

But OP that's not the Cheiftan's Shield?

Jesus how horrible, I cringe every time
What a black spot on a great series.

It's hard to pick one, I think this was my favorite though.

The senate sequence is pure gold, and it has its moments (I like the tributes to certain other stuff like Tintin), but I think it's far from the best in the series.

I have a strange affinity for it, what can I say. I agree it might not be the best. Maybe Mansions of the Gods.

>I have a strange affinity for it, what can I say
It's alright, I think any Asterix up to Belgium is an acceptable favorite.
>Mansions of the Gods
I didn't like that one too much, but the concept was interesting.

Where's a great place to start reading?

You start from the first issue of course, and go chronologicaly.

...

Why do you consider that one the best?

No love for Obelix & Co?

Gotta admire it for explaining the concept of inflation to kids

Any of the first 6 then. Gladiator possibly.

What's Sup Forums's favourite animated Asterix?

Asterix in Britain (The lookout is ouuuuuuuut) followed by 12 tasks of Asterix.

Honourable mention to Asterix conquers America for having a scouse dub and the hot indian girl

Gladiator is one of the best for sure, same with Golden Sickle. Not too fond of Banquet for some reason, but the Humbug sequence cracked me up a lot.

It's excellent, only thing it needs is a bit more jokes, then it would probably be the best issue.

Mine is Asterix 3D.
It's maybe not the best one but I love Astier.

>The lookout is ouuuuuuuut
LET OUT OF ITS SHELL, MAYBE WE'RE ALL AT SEA
My nigga
I think similarly to you, just in reverse. 12 tasks is my favorite, followed by Britain.
What about live action?

I think even Goscinny even regretted writing this and finally realized "fuck it, I'm way too old and grumpy for this shit".

At least we went out with a bit of dignity with the anniversary special.

You mean Uderzo? Goscinny was dead for a long time when this was written, right?

There is only one good live action Asterix film.

If your French, it's considered one of best entries.

When you're anywhere else, it's considered on the poorest entries.

Why is that the only good one?

Interesting, can you explain why?

I've always wondered how many puns we miss out on in the translated versions. I know there are a bunch of parodies of old French politicians.

Le pinacle du cinéma français.

Because the others ones sucks?

You what

Obelix & Co.

It's the Soviet Union favourite Asterix issue.

What's wrong with Olympic Games? Maybe I'm a sucker for Benoit Poelvoorde, but I enjoyed that one.

It's as they say in French: Je voudrais acheter un boite!

Whoops sorry. I did mean Uderzo.

Are you retarded?

This movie is one of the funniest movie in the country for a long time. That's what I meant.

Fucking this. La Zizanie is the best album among many great albums.

>La Zizanie
What

This one is 1000 times funnier and intelligent.

Read this when you are a child and then when you are an adult. Seems like 2 different comics. You'll notice layers of jokes who missed at a kid.

The last part (while they are in Switzerland) is weak.

Le francais, niqueur de meres, tu le parles?

They made a fourth one? Didn't even realize.

HEAP MENHIR MAKERS STONY BROKE

I don't know if it's the best, but it's probably the funniest.

"Cules Jesar est arrive en Gelbique."

Is Goscinny the most underrated writer in comics? I never see him mentioned when people mention Moore or even that hack Jodorowski, and he certainly deserved it. The man was consistent as fuck, all his Lucky Luke were great too.

What do you think of the first post-Uderzo?

(Definitely not my favourite.)

I haven't read it yet, but I doubt it's any good.

He's not underrated at all, but he isn't mentioned.
Jodorowsky isn't a hack, but he's too pretentious for me, even though I enjoyed Incal (the original one at least).

I like Asterix as much as the next guy but this is bullcrap.

>
>Implying

What are you trying to show with that image?

It was alright. Probably better than the Missing Scroll. The whole wikileaks thing kinda fell flat for me.

An asshole who causes trouble with green text.

Too bad I misplaced that issue

BY JUPITER YOU KNOW WHAT I MEANT
WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY WITH THAT IMAGE
