I remember. My hate for Loeb still burns bright.
Also pic related.

That one is from the same era and I remember liking that one too

...

We havent forgotten, its just that Sup Forums gets more discussion out of stuff it hates

...

useless if 2nd season was underwhelming
the show keeps running

What did Loeb do?

...

Took over as head of all things cartoon at Marvel, fucked season 2 up because he thought kids didn't love overaching plots and only wanted self-contained episodes, then axed the show early and replaced it with Man of Action's abortion of a cartoon that is Avengers Assemble for "better synergy with the cinematic universe" which basically meant no Pym and Janet and more quips ripped straight from the Avengers movies, including an over-reliance on Hulk side-punching Thor. Basically, Loeb's the reason why Marvel's cartoon been nothing but trash like Ultimate Spider-Man or Hulk and the Agents of SMASH for years and show no promise of ever improving.

With a little bit more time and polish, Avengers EMH could have been Marvel's Justice League Unlimited, or the start of a Marvel Animated Universe. But we can't have nice things.

I remember that, during that EMH/AA transition some on Sup Forums were in denial and kept insisting that AA would be a continuation of EMH. How unfortunately wrong they were.

Nah man, it's worse than that, Loeb himself said AA would be a continuation of EMH, but we've all been tricked, they had nothing in common and none of the unresolved plots of EMH like Pym's personality disorder or Surtur transferred over.

comicvine.gamespot.com/avengers/4060-3806/forums/avengers-assemble-is-a-continuation-of-emh-680633/

>Loeb pulling a bait-&-switch
Definitely another reason to hate him

Wasn't Kamala Khan supposed to appear on AA at one time?

Also he seemed to have a hate boner for Hulk, and Red Hulk was never redeemed, and I don't remember what happened to Nick Fury but I don't think anyone does at all

She has. Now she's part of Captain Marvel's pro-reg Avengers team in the Civil War.

This. Sup Forums has really gone to the shitter these past few years

>doesn't even post a screenshot of Kamala's appearance
her cameo was that bad?

You act like this is something new for Sup Forums

I remember it because it had an episode with the Guardians just on the cusp of them blowing up in pop culture.

...

>forgotten

I don't hear anyone talk about it anymore

I remember calling that they were going to announce a GotG movie after that episode aired.

EMH was okay. Nothing great, and the second season is rushed as fuck, but I guess it's the only place where you can see those characters in animation.

Pym's arc was a fucking mess and he barely showed up. Their Ultron was infinitely better than the movie, though.

Oh I remember, user. I remember all too well, and when I REALLY want to remember, I just look up one of the artist's on the show DeviantArt and see shit like this, that while just fanart from someone who worked on the show, gives me that glimmer of hope, of what could have been, of what never was.

That and that clip of Doom wrecking everyone at the same time.

>Memeless Star-Lord
>Based Cockney Rocket
>Not a creepy, human face with puppy eyes Groot
>Best girl Phyla-Vell instead of professional space occupier Gamora
>Adam fucking Warlock

If only I could turn back time,
If only I had said what I still hide
If only I could turn back time,
I would stay.

Wouldn't mind if Justice League Action got a bit more love from Sup Forums, tbqh.

...

I don't get why Marvel doesn't understand that movie synergy does not work. You can't just port the movie characters and jokes and plot points over to another medium (comics/cartoons) and expect them to work without the writers/actors/setting/direction/premise that made the original film work.

She was in multiple episodes.

youtube.com/watch?v=ubKSV_5zVfQ

Don't you see what's happened though? This is what happens when writers with no creativity take over a series.

For example, you know those X-Men writers who just do Apocalypse, Sentinels, Dark Phoenix and all that again? They lean back on older more well known stories instead of creating their own. Bendis was given the keys to GOTG, but the GOTG weren't majorly popular. So what does he do? He just imitates the movie. In fact, his run started with Bug on the team cause he thought he was going to be in the movie, and more and more they were shiftless til the film hit then they became exactly like it. And other writers just sort of followed suit. Originally I thought it was bad writers in charge, but Humphries moving to DC did wonders. I just think Bendis controlling the GOTG ship and forcing Avengers and X-Men Heroes on the GOTG damaged it cause he didn't have enough Cosmic knowledge to make it work.

Hell, how much you want to bet his Defenders run will just be Netflix shows palooza? An arc to fight Sygorney Weaver. Arcs to fight the Hand. Arcs where they fight the Purple Man. A big arc where they fight the Kingpin, etc. The reason they do synergy is that they have no creativity to make up something new!

FUGGGGGGGG

Bendis is on Defenders? Dang...

Quite possibly the best overall transformers show out there

I fucking loved that show

> the greatest Dr. Doom ever.

I shall never forget this show. EVER.

I declare this a EMH thread

speaking of what could have been...

...

...

...

okay

...

To be fair, you can't have the same thread for years, over and over again.

>This entire thread
Disney was a mistake

MORE

I miss you old Sup Forums

I miss view threads for almost every new episode premiere of any show and not just Steven universe

I miss fun threads

I miss motorcity and tron and EMH and black dynamite.

I miss when this board wasn't completely eclipsed by the shitty "tv/tumblr/pol" meme and I actually saw hope corgi threads more than once in a blue moon

Fuck this board used to be so good.... but you know what anons

Sup Forums lives.

>Show is generic shit most of its life
>Finally starts getting good
>Canceled

Say that to Katawa Shoujo General #3253

>I miss view threads for almost every new episode premiere of any show and not just Steven universe

This is a problem with General Culture in that new discussion is reserved for generals with their regulars instead of new episode threads for everyone.

>I miss view threads for almost every new episode premiere of any show and not just Steven universe
To be fair, that's because most shows out there are either garbage or on constant hiatus with irregular airing schedules so that we never know when a new episode's out (cough TMNT)

Waifujerking will never go out of style

I think a lot of people saw it as a commercial for the cards but it was actually really good. Main cast played off each other well and the politics between the 4 tribes was very interesting and nuanced.

I don't get nostalgic over previous years of a website much, but EMH livethreads were always full of hype and speculation, as well as a huge bump in activity whenever a new crop of episodes got dumped from that Australian channel that played them before any other region.

Also Black Dynamite as Toonami's lead-in was always fun. Perfect transitional show from [as] into Toonami.

This. Really good show.

It's crazy how good this show was considering it was a 4kids production. I suppose they know how to make something within their own rules, but butchered any show they dubbed because they had to fit it within their standards. Explains TMNT 2003 being good, also.

Agreed on the lore being strong. I also thought the places they went with the technology was interesting as well. The interplay between the real world, Chaotic, and the "hubworld" where people who play the game hang out was very interesting. There's an episode where Tom plays a game on a specific location and relays the layout to Peyton and Sara, who relay that info to Kaz as he's in Chaotic and climbing up a mountain in that location to warn someone of an ambush. I recall this so vividly because I watched all of S1 last Summer.

Also one of the only shows I can think of with such a drastic art style shift for the better between seasons.

>they think EMH is good

Listen to this podcast's episode on it and you'll know wiser:

animationaficionados.com/2011/07/26/episode-31-side-by-side-avengers-earths-mightiest-heroes-vs-avengers-united-they-stand/

Trigger warning: it's a podcast that's not vidya related

Fuck off shill, no one's giving you ad revenue.

Damn I miss Motorcity threads. Titmouse staff would actually come in the threads and talk with us and post pictures of their staff watching parties. Plus they put in little easter eggs in the show for us like pic related.

Fuck the Mouse. Motorcity and Sym-Bionic Titan are the cancellations that hurt the most for me.

I don't have this problem of no premiere threads.

Maybe it's the shows you're watching.

I'm angry about this one. DHX bought Nerd Corps and they barely even acknowledge they own it as a property. I mean please just through it up on Netflix or something for the love of God. Academy never.

The show got good during the end but the cyberpunk city built on ancient ruins world was always really cool to me and kept me watching even while it was cheesy in the beginning. Opening was cool too.

Storm Hawks was another show they did that could be continued.

Oh yeah they were really creative with their setting. It's personally my favorite version of "getting transported to a fantasy world" that I've ever seen. Plus the idea of exploring the world and becoming the creatures you scanned when you battled in the dromes was fun. I loved the episode where King Chaor used Kaz for espionage against Lord Van Bloot by having him battle against another player with a Van Bloot card in a Van Bloot castle location. Then it turned out Van Bloot was using the other player to spy on Chaor so he could plan an ambush that kills him but Chaor knew that and saved Kaz when he went to the real castle to try and save Chaor.

Really showed how much of a bro Chaor was even though he's ruler of the nasty Underworlders. Loved how grey the tribes were with there being no real good of evil tribes, they all were just looking out for their own interests.

>Storm Hawks was another show they did that could be continued.

That name's familiar... What was-

>that show that looks a lot like the Jak And Daxter games

Oh

What are these from?

Artist who worked on the show's DA account. He's got a ton of what-if scenarios in the EMH art style, pretty much all of which weren't actually planned for the show.

>best action show ever on CN
>ends because of fucking disney

>We will never see Son of Dathomir on animated format.

Feels bad, man.

a-at least Rebels is continuing plot lines from Clone Wars... that's, something.

Had a good villain. youtube.com/watch?v=XWhNbovT90k
Plus who doesn't love sky pirates?

>ends because of fucking disney
Sounds familiar.

NO I BLOCKED THIS ONE OUT.

BUT YOU HAD TO BRING IT BACK. FUCK YOU.

I can't into sky pirates. They always come off as babby's first YA action adventure edgy antihero to me.

shit I forgot to copy the link: youtube.com/watch?v=Qq4GPn5m47c

Fair enough. You should try playing Skies of Arcadia if you haven't though. Might change your mind. Also the main cast in Storm Hawks aren't actually Sky Pirates they're Sky Knights purging Cyclonians, but there are pirates in the show as antagonists.

Ahhh, the amazing 2012 time. When GLTAS was shocking everyone with how damned fine of a show it turned out to be, Tron Uprising was delivering endless scenery porn and hype, Motorcity was damned fine, Young Justice Season 2 was gaining traction and everyone was wondering if these shows and Korra would usher in the golden age of Cartoons, just like TV was currently getting.

Damned fine year, at the start.

This was the only Star Wars product I consumed as a whole and it was just completely amazing.

>or the start of a Marvel Animated Universe
technically its in the same universe as wolverine and the x-men and a couple of the animated dvds. was supposed to be spectacular spider-man too, but they had to fuck it up and replace keaton with bell...

i really don't understand why so many people dislike season 2.

Something that hurts episode talkback threads nowadays is many shows have their episodes released in bulk instead of weekly. So the burn out is quicker and the contemplation between each episode's content is thinner.

Generals are bad for Sup Forums. It compartmentalizes discussion and encourages I kind of "friends club" mentality. Whenever there are multiple threads on a same show (usually SU) there are anons who tell everyone to take it to the generals and it's like, no, because there are a lot of people that prefer not to submerge themselves in general culture.

They did a flashback in one episode and it showed them as the EMH Avengers so yeah it is technically a continuation but they pretty much ignore the show like it never happened most of the time.

only the outfits were the same. characterization and plots, not so much. god what shit AA is.

More fun Avengers EMH stuff.

Avengers Assemble actually did vampires plot. But it was probably a coincidence.

The one show I want back the most and its the one that has absolutely no chance of doing so.

God everything about the first season and first twelve episodes of Season Two were amazing. Yeah the Loeb-fied episodes mostly stunk. But it gave us that amazing Red Skull two parter, Kree arc, and the Galactus finale.

>was supposed to be spectacular spider-man too, but they had to fuck it up and replace keaton with bell...

No. They only had Keaton because they liked him. Weisman had his own ideas and plans for the other Marvel heroes.

The Kree arc and Galactus finale were done before Man of Action and Loeb stepped in. I agree that everything in the Loeb/MoA portion of S2 is still watchable and still has the good writing and characters for the most part (outside of Powerless), but when you have stuff like Tony inventing the cure for a plague when there are actual biologists on the team, nobody except Cap standing by Hulk during the Red Hulk thing, continuity errors involving Vision, etc. and it sours an otherwise airtight show.

Fuck, I remember when the S1 finale aired and people freaked the FUCK out when Cap got replaced with a Skrull as the cliffhanger.

>that Dwayne McDuffie anecdote

It's not even a minute in and you already come off as an insufferable faggot.

To be fair, Tony had help. T'Challa and him were the ones who whipped up the cure. Tony just lasted longest among the Avengers because of wearing armor.

Even though you know the twist is coming, I still get all giddy when Cap knows the Skull is Secretary of Defense.

...

Sorry kids, but I'm not the creator. If your defense to criticism is "SHILL SHILL SHILL" then you don't have a defense. You know that the criticism is true and you're too thin-skinned to face it.

Sorry, but Sup Forums is a place to discuss comics and cartoons, not a safe place for your taste.

Deal with it

>we will never see Dark Disciple on animated format.
Feels good, man.

Because people like to bitch
Especially on the internet
Especially on Sup Forums

>Deal with it

Sorry I don't deal with smirky fanboy podcasts or fans who feel the need to shill them.

Fine then, be ignorant!

I miss good action cartoons. Thankfully Justice League Action is good, even if it could use a better animation budget.

I don't think I can expect thoughtful criticism from autists who sperged out at Dwayne McDuffie because he used Justice League characters in Static Shock and calling him a sell out because he didn't use his own characters in his show.

>Pfft, sorry you can't handle my radical non-conformist point of view, kiddo.
Take a load of this faggot.

We started of so well where did it all go so wrong

Oh yeah the Avengers came out and Arrow was a dominating force that kicked off a new wave of LAA's that brought shitters out of the cancerous trenches to our safe haven in droves

right

Card game was good too.
