Infernal Affairs

Sorry for the double entries,

So China has the Triads and Japan has the Yakuza, what does Korea have?

Appearantly its called khangpae.

There's this Japanese mafia film that has like dance/musical numbers in it and the ending is meant to be great and really violent. Anyone know what I'm talking about it's been bugging me for a long time. I think it was quite colourful and looked almost like a stage play.

Hard Boiled
The Raid (only part one)
The Protector

Oh and yes, I know The Raid is "Indonesian", but still, close enough.

Most of Kitano's stuff is great. I think this is perhaps my favourite

part 2 is fantastic though, and a lot more gangster orientated like op wants

Part 1 is a sort of grounded contained cops outgunned but win through sheer savagery and determination
Part 2 is a cartoon

that not a fucking argument you little shit, its grandiose certainly, yet i don't know how you can recommend Hard Boiled at the same time with that comment

...

have you seen violent cop out of interest?

"Hey you like this grounded and brutal action movie? How about this silly flamboyant one that isn't grounded and becomes over-the-top!"

I have. I've seen most if not all of his gangster films.

I still have to see the second and third one. I hear they're just as good.

>does it also show the yakuza's inner workings a bit like the godfather does to western mafia?
Yeah, thought not always in a respectful way.

...

are you retarded?

I guess you can't handle that switching tones and styles between movies might alienate fans of the original

Well it is called Battles Without Honor and Humanity, of course it's not respectful.
