>Free meal.
What's that supposed to mean?

Annie is going to eat dick all night.

>nothing actually happens to him in the end
what was the fucking point then.

Blowjob Buffet.

Aaaand DROPPED.

That's fucking it. I've had it. No more checking the website or regularly following the comic. I'll just see it when it pops up here on Sup Forums. I've lost interest. This comic has no stakes and no consequences. Tom's lost it.

Annie becomes a psychopomp.

Annie has to give something up of equal value or something.

Or maybe send someone else over.

I guess, thanks.

It's from the phrase "There's no such thing as a free meal.", referring to the fact that Annie has to perform a service if she wants his life to be saved.

>no consequences
Are we reading the same page here or what

Ah, all right.

Aaaanooon!
I love you!
youtube.com/watch?v=4xrS5NEBKjU

Look at McEdgy here, who thinks death is the only consequence.

But really, this arc has been kind of a letdown. I feel like it wasn't nearly as exciting as it should have been, for something that was such a major milestone of the comic.

This comic has honestly started to bore me.

Gross porn it is, then. :)

see
You do realise that Annie just signed her life away in exchange for Smitty's, right? This is something that's going to impact her whole life.

Whatever. I guess it's all subjective, but I'm just not feeling it.

Doubt it.

Betting it will be all of his memories, or her fire half or something.

Read the comic. They've been on at her to work for them like Surma did. It's all they're interested in.

Didn't she send the psycho swordswoman and her green boyfriend to the afterlife though?

Well, I'd rather she'd just fuck herself to death already, but I guess this could lead to some good stuff, too.

And they thanked her for it but this is a separate matter.

Well Ava's Demon returns tomorrow. Plenty of shocking death there.

Man, what a pompous bunch of psychos.

Carlos!

I don't read that one.

Annie's gonna become a psychopomp and get a skimpy new superhero-style outfit oh yiss!

I don't want it to be "shocking," I just want things to matter and for there to be consequences for actions, said consequences being proportionate to the actions taken.

Regardless of what happens later in the story, it feels like this particular episode has not had the consequences it should have had. Jeanne had been built up as a major milestone in the comic. The gang dealing with her was meant to be a very serious thing, and in fact it appeared they would suffer some serious consequences for their intervention in matters above their station.

Maybe they still will. But right now it feels as though nothing they've done has carried any weight. I suppose ultimately it's just not dramatic enough. It seems as though we end the chapter and everything's fine.

It rubs me the wrong way. I think it's a bad decision, from a storytelling perspective. Maybe it's just that the comic moves so slowly it's hard to appreciate developments. But that's the course Tom's chosen.

And the list of shit Annie's responsible for grows larger.

- Forest Medium
- Associate Psychopomp
- Student who Actually Does her Schoolwork

Wonder what kinda shit they're gonna have her doing.

>Maybe it's just that the comic moves so slowly it's hard to appreciate developments.

It's gonna be this exactly. Three pages a week is a glacial pace to be reading a cohesive chapter of something.

Remember "WE GET IT, SHE'S OLD"?

blah blah blah. The fact that you want nothing short of a character dying means you want cheap shock value. Live with it.

This is something of far more conscience than some side character snuffing it and his girlfriend going 'tears in the rain' for a few chapters. Annie is literally a psychopomp bitch for the rest of her life. She'll have to drop everything to help them whenever they show up because they no longer have to kiss up and ask her.

Plus we don't know what other repercussions are coming from Jeanne passing. Like others said, they just took don't a barrier between the Forest and the Court and we know from Shadow2 and Crash Course that there are still creatures that hate humans and want to attack.

Sorry this doesn't live up to your teenage fanfic standards but Tom's a better writer than you.

Looks like it's Annie that'll be facing the consequences...

The Court, the Forest, the Psychopomps... she really likes to keep those plates spinning! I think she's going to be faced with an irrevocable choice in the very near future though.

>The psychopomps stop midway.
>They want even more trades to keep healing Smitty.

Better do some Annie gangbang

>no consequences
The consequences was shifted from Smitty to Annie, mate.
So far, good with me.

She's probably giving up some time off her life.

So, what? She's gonna get knocked up even younger now?

That would make absolutely no sense.

If she gets a male love interest, I wouldn't be surprised if she's pregnant before she leaves school.

What else is a psychopomp going to take from her?

Her service.

They've been trying to get her to work for them (as her mother did) for ages.

Why would they be taking anything? Debts can be paid off with work.

>What else is a psychopomp going to take from her?
Maybe they just want her two cents?

>Get sent to the underworld
>Go to cross the river Styx
>Charon asks for his fee
>Shakes his head when I pull out my two coins
>"Sorry, the price has changed... your passage will cost about tree fiddy"

It was about that time that I noticed the tollman was actually six stories high crustacean from the paleolithic era

Her service. Surma used to work for them, helping out with lost souls and the like. They've been nagging at Annie to do the same since the comic began but Annie doesn't want to after she was left to take her mother to the ether by herself.

To be fair, Lapras can use surf

I've been doing that since they years of Gunnershit Fail postings. I am very interested in the characters and story but long ago I decided it would make nearly no effort to keep up on it. It's just more palatable when you forget about it for a while and come back. Plus if you're on Sup Forums everyday its not like you'll miss out on anything.

The first time I read that page, Kat had glowing yellow snake eyes in the third to last panel.

God damn sleep deprivation triggered hallucinations, you scary.

>This comic has no stakes and no consequences.
You should have realized from the first fucking page this is a story for children. I don't know what the fuck you were expecting other than whimsy and adventure.

>no consequences
>literally the first two speech bubbles are Annie agreeing to consequences
Seriously?

>pic
And now look how things went down.
Isn't it ironic?

>Ava's Demon returns

Good joke user

gamma is pretty

Michelle's finally done all her kickstarter stuff, so everything should be back on track until Book 3 fucks it up again.

Have a better version.

>cursed teapot
Is there something I should know about?

Just a random thing. I believe Tom said it was something he added to show that his characters do things we don't always see.

Who wants to bet they'll threaten to kill Smitty if Annie doesn't comply with them?

Gamma is Zimmy's!

Well, they already kind of did...

It's a good thing they get along so well.

Imagine you are the only one able to prevent the freaky girl to distort reality and stir some awful shit in the real world, yet, at the same time you can barely stand her or doesn't reciprocate the the way she feel about you.

Or imagine Zimmy fall in love with someone else and Gamma is forced to stick around, all the time, especially during sex because that's when there is the higher risk.

Yeah but after the fact. Saying they'll reopen the wound or go through Deathnote on Smitty if Annie ever tries to turn down a request.

This. Annies 'refusing the call' to serve as psychopomp was her backstory before coming to Gunnerkrigg Court. These guys have been aggressively scouting her for literally her entire life.

>Superhero Annie
I need this.

I keep reading pychopomp as pychopomf.

>Wah!
>What are we going to do on the bed, Muut?

was there ever so much as a hint that they could do this?

Annie knew they could. Reason enough to believe it's possible.

Smitty forrshadowed this. He said that using his powers made things lucky for him, but that might mean they're bad foro other people.

He fucked Annie with his powers.

We still haven't seen them kiss.
I refuse to accept that state of things!
Draw more cute lesbian love, Tom!

Oh, sorta like when Starfire watches Raven get plowed by Tiger-Beastboy!

And then Annie went back to suck cocks

>WAH!
>What are we going to do to the dead?

>PsychoPOMF =3

as long as the body is still warm

>Well Ava's Demon returns tomorrow
Lmaooo

... It's off limits.
Wait till it's cold for the REAL fun.

While this might move the story forward via whatever Annie just agreed to, it doesn't exactly feel like a consequence if it doesn't smack the characters in a face a bit. Remember when Annie was passed over for Court medium but immediately became forest medium and loved it? Stuff happened so it wasn't irrelevant but it was all still smooth sailing for Annie.

It's not that there's a rigid status quo that it refuses to leave, it's that things are always fairly easy for the main cast. Everything chugs along too nicely.

Annie's unhappy with what she agreed to but I have doubts it's not just the same method of moving the story ahead again without that much of an impact on her.

She should be glad that SOMEBODY wants her.

needs to do that crazy one-man army dance

I want to hurt Annie, too.

I just want some more good, non foot related, porn damn it. Is that so much to ask for?

Yes

Pain's part of life but the worst Annie gets is angry or sad for a page or two.

Now Draw Annie on a bed.

That's not an accurate depiction of reality!

>girls loving girls

Source?

I hope Annie immediately fucks them over after Smitty gets healed.

>Source?

Implying that people actually read the comic

>backstory before coming to Gunnerkrigg
pic related shows an implicit handing over of psychopomp "duties" from Surma to Annie, and the next page has Annie agreeing to help, but where does the comic show she refused before she started at the Court?

animegirlbeingfuckedonherdesk.gif

This page isn't as funny since Kat discover she was into girls.

But she still hasn't discovered she's into teapots.

>Kat discovered she was into girls
It was fucking bullshit, man.

It was A Very Special Chapter of Gunnerkrigg Court.

Would she still have the time to take classes?

I guess the actual schoolwork has become increasingly irrelevant now that she's separated from all her friends.

i remember reading in one of the early chapters when Renard was still a jerk and suggested KatxAnnie. and then it turns out he was at least half right.

Depends how often they need her and how flexible they are really. If it's like Surma, they'd only come when something needs fixing and it could probably wait until Annie's free.

However since Annie's in debt with them now, they could be assholes and want her to drop everything at a moment's notice constantly.

The idea of Annie actually doing her homework makes me hard.

Yeah, the new side also has scat and gore.

Yes, but they enjoy it, tho.
