Show is revived

>show is revived
>is better than ever

Has this ever happened?

does Family Guy count?

Scooby Doo, Mysteries Inc.is like the most obvious one out there.

the pony show
ten thousand autistic perverts can't be wrong, can they?

Voltron

I dunno, is that really a revival? It seems like just another Scooby-Doo spinoff. Albeit an amazing one.

Space Ghost: Coast to Coast

Perhaps it shouldn't count since it's a different genre.

I really should watch that. I've always really liked the IDEA of Scooby Doo, but never really enjoyed the shows. Especially the older ones. Mystery Inc seems like what I've always wanted it to be. Especially with some of the niche callouts like to War of the Gargantuas that I've seen.

What I'd really like to see now is for someone to do what Archie Horror did to the Archie and Sabrina brands to Scooby Doo.

Voltron LD is better than the 80s Voltron.

if fans singing all the goddamn songs on repeat to no end, drawing shitty OCs and heaps upon heaps of porn, all the while discussion of the actual cartoon is utterly ignored for the most part translates to 'better than ever', then by any means, I don't want anything to be 'better than ever'.

Came to this thread to specifically point out that Mystery Inc isn't really a revival.

Also people give it too much credit. Aside from the visuals, the writing was pretty 6/10

None of these are revivals. They're reboots.

Something like or Futurama, Kim Possible, Arrested Development, or even Young Justice count as revivals.

That would be Scooby Apocalypse by DC Comics.

>Kim Possible
s4 sucked

The way OP worded his statement would mean that the series has to increase in quality following it's revival. The best example I can think of would be Gilmore Girls, whose Netflix revival was much better than it's final broadcast season.

For a brief moment I was excited about Voltron laserdiscs.

I'm sorry, I'm retarded and need further clarification. So a reboot is when it's the same idea, brand new show and a revival is when it's the same show, but it went off air for whatever reason and they brought it back?

Exactly

Is it? It looked fairly goofy from the cover. I thought it was the same tone, different aesthetic. I'm talking like, I want Alan Moore's Saga of Scooby Doo from Vertigo.

Aren't a lot of the reboots of old '80s properties better? Like Thundercats and Masters of the Universe? I mean the old shows had their charm but the reboots tend to be ess silly and have better stories.

I think reboots/reimaginings can be better (like how Spectacular Spider-Man is the definitive Spidey cartoon), but not revivals. To me a revival has to be made with the same main crew and the problem there is that they only happen after all the crew has creatively moved on and grown and changed. So whatever you get will not be in the same vein purely because of that.

why is ppg in the OP then? Surely that's a reboot, not a revival

>pic related
Despite how autistic you may think it is, it is undeniably a paradigm shift in a pos. direction from the absolutely retarded previous generations. At least now there is a palatable story, interesting characters, and good animation.
You can call me as autistic as you want, and the show definitely panders to that, but I don't think any reboot has had such an equivalent rise in quality.

OP was mentioned . Yes, that's a reboot as well.

Reboot Season 3 and 4 are certainly better than season 1.

PONIES
FUCK OFF
BARNYFGA

HREUEEE : )

Your asking for a thread about revivals but your post seems to be about reboots

Its called PPG 2016, not PPG season 7 user

it's a revival, there's a "minisode" that shows why they don't assist their kindergarten any more among many other things within the shows that tie it in continuity with the original.

Does Danger Mouse counts?

Beavis and Butt-Head is the only example I can think of

Technically not animated but Doctor who I think so. The show before was probably only big in Britain, but when the new series hit, almost everyone was loving it.

THIS. The humor of the B&B was just as great as it ever was, and gave us some of the show's best memes.
>I understand your frustration.
>You're all going to Hell.
>Beavis was crying

the horse show we are not allowed to talk about

>Here come the waterworks
