>the one where a Scotsman pretends he's Russian

To even harbor the illusion RO is better than Das Boot is unbelievable to me.

>we need someone to play a Russian commander
>Say no more

I honestly prefer K-19. Red October always seemed too long and boring to me, and Crimson Tide has a good script and characters, but I like the story of K-19 more

K-19 drifted SOOOOOOOOO far off the original story, it hurts

The reactor repair scenes were bone-chilling though

Crimson Tide

I know, but the cast is great, I like the funky accents, and also the explicit anti-Sovietic message. Plus, it has both Liam Neeson and Jacob Pitts

>The reactor repair scenes were bone-chilling though
This desu

are you retarded?

wtf is wrong with all you people

Kek

It's obviously Das Boot, but Red October is good too

>DUDE SCHCOTLAND xD
Fuck this guy

Seriously

i kind of love all sub movies, now that i think about it.
das boot wins though.

Das Boot is better and hunt for red october is everything wrong with action movies

Das Boot suffers from horrible pacing and off topic-ness. Crimson Tide on the other hand has no single scene not important to the film and thus is superior.

Das Boot brings back too many painful memories of penis inspection day

Crimson Tide is better than Hunt for Red October

>tfw no movie version of Red Storm Rising

obv

>das boot is way too long. if someone were to reedit it, it could be good.
>run silent run deep has some great sequences but is far from great. don rickles the GOAT.
>crimson tide is weighed down by the quentin tarantino nonsense dialogue.
>hunt for red october is a jack ryan movie and you're gay if you like it.
pic related is the best

>dat crappy CGI

was that ship full of gunpowder and gasoline?

ALAAAAAAAAARM

> Everyone begins signing Russian national Anthem
> The Captain lets them sign, but doesn't do so himself

The Plebeian tastes on this board is disgusting

>nobody has mentioned this

>still no Enemy Below mensioned
disgusting, uncultured thread

Arpeggio of Blue Steel

>lol dude nazis!!
>Das Boot is so epic!
That's the only reason people here love it

does Ice Station Zebra count

I like red october and das boot however K-19: The Widowmaker is underrated
Solid fucking movie

This is the most realistic depiction of the US Navy

This, 100% this.

>All Germans were Nazis!

One of the best sub commanders of WWII served the West German Navy after the war, not every officer and soldier was a diehard nazi son. If anything the Navy was spared most of the brutality happening on the ground.

I guess I have to watch this then

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

unironically this
battle at the end of the movie is straight up a submarine duel IN SPAAAAAAACE

ALAAAAAARM

We will never get a big war movie, especially not for a war that never happened

The best chance is some fucking anime, and I mean that unironically. The only big Cold War gone hot film I know of with great big tank battles across the North German Plains and all is Future War 198X from 1982 and that's pretty much impossible to find

could see this eventually getting the miniseries treatment by HBO/Netflix/whoever

>198X

>>No Red Storm Rising movie or tv series

Feels bad man.

ywn see an adaptation of Red Phoenix, Vortex or Cauldron.

You're right, but the only reason Das Boot is loved on Sup Forums is because the neckbeards feel edgy praising anything involving Nazi Germany

Das Boot is my favourite but pic related was pretty good.

>Enemy Below
This guy gets it
