Same. It is top three of the series for me. I watch it every year.

which of the original trilogy do you exclude?

I unironically hate sand

Because it's the only one of the three that actually has a good premise

They're not good, but they're memorable. The Disney trash is more technically competent but are made by comitee and forgettable as fuck. Also based Sheev is a better performance than anything in the new movies combined.

The Hobbit

what is your fucking PROBLEM!?!???

I HAVE BROUGHT TAX, AUDITS, AND BOOMING STOCKS TO MY NEW EMPIRE.

ROTJ

I love the meme's and pathos but its a lot better in my head then when Im rewatching it so I don't rewatch it often

You're unironically a giga faggot with a shit taste in music

Same. Also after TFA basically all prequels are upgraded to oscar-tier masterpieces.

Anakin laying on the floor mutilated, screaming and Obi-Wan was actually pretty kino.

III > Disney Star Wars

people don't like ROTJ because they are art deaf. too bad because it's the most interesting symbolically speaking

fine, don't put your shit porn spliced into symbolic porn. gay ass george lucas, wish I lived in california so I could drive by, yell "NICE HAIR FAGGOT", fucking hate ewoks

Same here and AotC as well. Love is a little strong but it's very underrated. And you can cry all you want chances are my taste is better than yours.

It's a cult classic now.

ANH.

Is Episode 3 the biggest meme movie of all time?

>and AotC
Steady now user...

Everything you said is correct. Money has ruined movies.

AOTC is the ROTJ of the prequels. In moments, it's the best of the three, in others, it's easily the worst.

TPM is quietly the best though. It honestly makes me sad that Lucas took the fan backlash over it so badly that he wasted the next two movies dicking around filming what were basically glorified demo reels for all the crazy technologies that he wanted to be at the forefront of. AOTC/ROTS were as ambitious as Avatar was in terms of blending computer-generated characters and physical actors, and the only mistake that Lucas made was filming them 7+ years before the technology was really mature enough to properly bring his vision into the flesh. Mark my words, had the CGI work in AOTC and ROTS been up to the same caliber as the stuff in Avatar, they'd be considered among the best of BOTH trilogies.

That said, there is a certain /comfy/ness to TPM in that it, along with it's contemporaries the LOTR films, was the ultimate product of that 90's blend of incredible miniature work and delicately curated CGI that looked so goddamn good in Jurassic Park, Independence Day, etc, and as such had a very different feel compared to AOTC and ROTS. I can only imagine what those two might have been if they were made the same way that TPM was.

someone shoop Riley's face on Annies lol :D

>IT'S THE DARKEST OF THE THREE!

>made the same way that TPM was
that would be 35mm film user
meanwhile AOTC is stuck at the luxurious output of 1080p FOREVER

This movie has the high ground above disney wars

ANH is really a struggle for me to rewatch. The characters are unlikable and the action is shit-tier. Definitely my least favorite of the Original 6.

>meanwhile AOTC is stuck at the luxurious output of 1080p FOREVER
Didn't even know that

Rogue One was the best Star Wars movie since RotJ

You have a nice taste user, It's the best star wars movie ever made

Great movie desu

He probably has better hair than you

Fuck. Off.

Prequels were bad films, however they're fucking awesome Star Wars films.

Disney Star Wars are fairly competent flicks, but fucking abysmal star wars content.

All 3

TPM is my personal favorite. The podracing scene, the final duel, the maul reveal, the gungan city, the underwater chase, even the droidekas. I loved all of it. I don't think any other Star Wars film can compare.

>christopher fucking lee
>prime natalie portman w/ mid riff
>samuel jackson
>ewan mcgregor
>john williams at his best
>top-tier visual designs and environments
>fighting choreographers are a feast for the eyes
>made by the original creator of the series with 100% creative control
>actual new story line and designs instead of rehashing everything
>no obnoxious political messages or political correctness forced by hollywood

The prequels were genuinely amazing.

this.

I unironically love this movie too.

The prequels are incredibly well-made in all aspects except for dialogue. Even the general storyline is appealing, Lucas just writes horrendous conversation.

3 people made the prequels watchable: John Williams, Natalie "queen of Sup Forums" Portman and Sheev

>there continue to be people in the world who defend AOTC

>hating on natalie portman showing her belly button

I literally cannot remember a single characters name or traits from RO, its such a forgettable movie

Yet I can remember
>Mace Windu
>Count Dooku
>JarJAr
>Padme
>Qui-Gon Jinn

The prequels were more original and had more heart, even if they were executed poorly

The Nu-Starwars is well executed but its corporate trash with no heart to it

I don't like the prequels but I like nu-wars even less.

Sheev was always a delight. Hats off to the actor, he had great stage presence and knew exactly when some scene chewing was required.

>forgetting based christopher lee

S Jackson is a good actor, and quite entertaining sometimes. But he didn't really feel right as a jedi.

Prequels > Originals

Hershlag literally added nothing to the movies except exposing her gut in the second one.

You're right about John Williams, though--and it's one of the most glaring omissions from nu-Star Wars that neither of the two movies released since RotS have had a single memorable note in any of their soundtracks.

ANAKIN,YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BRING SURPLUS TO THE EMPIRE NOT DEFICITS TO IT.

The prequels still adhered to that weird pulpy adventure that Lucas always wanted. The nuWars are just quipfests by people with zero imagination.

debate this

you can't

5 > 4 > 3 > 6 > 1 > 7 > 2

John Williams did the soundtrack for Force Awakens, though and it's really good. Rey's theme, Kylo's theme, and the march of the resistance are plenty memorable, just off the top of my head, and would all fit right in with the soundtracks of the previous six movies. Rogue One's soundtrack on the other hand sounded like a cheap knockoff.

Let's have a little thought experiment. Take the prequels and do any kind of little edits you want to them. Nothing that changes the story in the end, but you can add scenes and remove scenes, improve acting, add Twi'lek rape, whatever. Aren't they fantastic now? Maybe you've removed Jar-Jar or just kept his existence to minimum. Maybe you made Anakin less of a total faggot in Clones? Maybe you had Leah actually remember Padme. Maybe Jake Lloyd could act this time.

Now try the same for the Disney films.

THERE'S NOTHING TO FIX BECAUSE AT THEIR CORE THEY'RE UNINSPIRED GARBAGE.

I don't agree with most of this stuff, especially with how shitty Attack of the Clones is. For some reason, people seem to have forgotten how bad of a movie that is. But if you like them, then good for you.

kill yourself, reddit

I keep forgetting theres 3 whole movies in the franchise erased from history

Me too
The first 3 are still better than the 3rd movie, they have a soul the 3rd movie had to construct one out of refuse

>John Williams did the soundtrack for Force Awakens, though and it's really good

I literally could not have remembered any of those 30 minutes after I saw the movie if my life depended on it.

Wow, this is extremely bad rankings list

>Let's have a thought experiment. If you pretend that the Prequels are completely different movies with no problems, then they're literally perfect.
>I don't have to pretend that the Disney films are good, though, thus proving how trash they are.

Serious question, user: what's it like living on the spectrum?

1 and 3 are better than disneywars. Everybody just remembers how bad 2 was.

Fuck the prequels.

5 > 4 > 6 >>>> 7 > R1 > 3 > 2 > 1

When you remove the Naboo stuff, Clones becomes considerably better. Kamino scenes are perfect.

>people seem to have forgotten
No one has forgotten. The new films have been mostly well received, so the contrarian retards have to come out and praise the Prequels because they think it makes them look cool.

Then there are the 16-20 year old nostalgia fags who enjoyed the games, merch, cartoons, and extended universe of the Prequels, but haven't seen the actual films since they were kids and don't remember how bad they really are.

The politics in AOTC are absolute kino. Sheev being made dictator, the clone army, the Imperial March at the end as the legions of clones are deployed, just awesome.

>The new films have been mostly well received, so the contrarian retards have to come out and praise the Prequels because they think it makes them look cool.

t. literally jj abrams

>Original 6
Go to the kitchen. Find a large knife. Put the knife to your throat and slice it.

And the Geonosys battle was pretty sleek, as well...

Altought the prequels have their flaws, at least they are still Star Wars movie, that real Star Wars fans can enjoy.

Now these days, Star Wars is marketed to purple haired land-whale getting excited for Porgs.

Screw you Disney...

Maybe Revenge, maybe. But Phantom Menace has the bad kid acting, the weird political storyline, the giant battle between 2 cgi armies, Queen Amadal's monotone acting, R2D2 and C3PO thrown in for no reason, Anakin saving everyone by going into space and trying spinning and Jar Jar Binks.

Truthfully, all I remember is them getting to Tattooine, leaving and then the battle on Naboo. I can't really remember anything else in that movie.

>Altought the prequels have their flaws
Yes

>they are still Star Wars movie
Kind of

>that real Star Wars fans can enjoy
Not even slightly

Triggered

My negroid.

I had totally forgotten about that detail. Yeah, AOTC and ROTS were truly Lucas flying too high and getting burned by the sun.

>being a starwars fan after TFA

I just want a movie (not by Disney) set in the cyberpunk-looking Coruscant underworld from the first part of Episode II

in many ways it's not even well executed

shit writing when put under any sort of examination and scrutiny, completely derivative, even missing the chance to pander properly by not even having the fucking main characters from the original trilogy meet before they died off both in real life and in the films (the latter by design)

absolutely ridiculous

the canceled game star wars 1313 would have been that, I think

spoiler : disney cancelled it during their acquisition

one more reason to hate them

The only thing anyone remembers or cares about from Rogue One are the Darth Vader scenes.

I heard about the game, was skeptical that it would have even been any good hearing about the concept, then I saw the character designs and was amazed that there was not a single fucking (((diversity))) insert.

When I first saw this movie, I guess I was 17, I remember walking out and literally saying it was the best movie I'd seen in my laugh. It wasn't true, even at that age I had seen many better movies, but at the time I honestly believed what I said.

If I could go back to enjoying pleb shit I would, I miss being a normie, ignorance is bliss

>Disney goes full Geass
Never go full Geass.

They are all literally for children.

well, technically they were choc full of political messages that were relevant at the time...
And one of the themes that's repeated in 3/6 of the films is based on the vietnam war.

There are a bunch of The Clone Wars episodes set in the Coruscant underworld if you haven't seen it

unless you're geass in which case you become an amazing beautiful trainwreck ride, C.C. is best girl

Animecucks started shitting on the thread already, I'm out.

As if Star Wars fandom isn't a lower form of nerd trash than weaboo shit.

>jynn erso
easy to remember because they copied part of qui gon's name
>cassian andor
easy to remember because I hated the performance
>chroot
are you blind? also i have to type this into my computer sometimes.
>k2342
the numbers don't matter. alan tudic is still funny
>bagil/basil/bailey
he was gay for chroot and had a gun backpack
>gaylin erso
ball whip guy, has a weirdly sexy accent.
>tywin krenick
mean old man wears white uniform

how'd I do Sup Forums

Honestly it just sounds like John Williams phoned it in for TFA. The Prequel Trilogy had an incredibly epic score to it--like go play Duel of the Fates as loud as you possibly can and tell me you don't get hyped.

I dunno man, can you show me any examples of musics from nu star wars that had anything close to that level of scale? Like, the closest thing I can think of was the music from the trailer, which was itself just a remix of an older Star Wars song and wasn't in the movies.

>it took him an hour to google the names

>20 years after the events of the clone wars
>Clone trooper J-6R453 is assigned to hunt down remaining models of the original clone troopers, now escaped and on the run
>He lives a lonely life with only a love droid to keep him company
>Hears something haunting from a particular Temura before he finally pulls the trigger
>It sends him down the rabbithole towards the REAL reason why the empire doesn't use clones anymore
>In the process, follows his implanted memories and begins to believe that he's the rumored biological son of Jango Fett himself
>Crosses paths with a hardscrabble bounty hunter named Boba who works for the Empire and is thought to be the best in the business but never officially joined up because he preferred the freedom of relative anonymity to working under the emperor
>Discovers that the Emperor himself wants to get his hands on the child of Jango so that he can build the perfect clone soldier
>He's lead to the Kamino cloners, who he discovers are the closest thing to parents that the child has left
>The Emperor's men follow him to Kamino and destroy the facilities, taking Taun We prisoner and kill his love droid
>Left for dead, our hero is taken in by a faction of escaped clones working for the Rebellion
>They want him to kill Taun We because she might lead them to Boba, the child
>He realizes that Boba was Fett's son all along
>Is reminded that his love droid was just a mass produced product
>Instead chooses to rescue Taun We from the Emperor's super-clone and reunite the alien with her clone "son"
>In the process, becomes A Real Human Being and A Real Hero™

Who the fuck are those people?

Meh. It'd still be more original that TFA was

it had no emotional core for him to wrap the score around
can you hum the music that was playing when han solo got his bellybutton piercing? I didn't think so.
that's because nobody really gave a shit about it.

...

Watch Blade Runner then since it's blatantly stolen from it.

I couldn't disagree more. Rogue One had some oddly un-Star Wars choices like playing that sad muted music during the final battle when Vader's ship arrives, but the Jedha theme was very memorable.
